This simple yet filling Japanese classic comes across as a family dish to me, one that brings about warm fuzzy feelings in your heart and stomach ๐
The distinct hot and sour flavours of Tom Yun were incorporated into the dish, without being too overwhelming. But it was a tad too spicy for me. Oh, and thumbs up for the generous servings of salmon! ๐๐ป
Plus, the Thai Tea Gelato could do better with a more milky and creamy texture. With Lady M just a few floors below, I think your money could be more well spent there ๐
We like the Honey Mustard Cheese Egg Roll ($9.80) at Masizzim! The praise-worthy combination of the saltiness of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese with the sweetness of the honey mustard ๐๐ป Plus, the egg rolls were fluffy and moist. Mhmm that's the way to enjoy your eggs ๐๐ป But remember to polish these up quickly before the cheese hardens!
My favourite were the prawns! ๐ But honestly, it looks better than it tastes ๐ค I'm pretty particular about the tare sauce used in tendons and the one here unfortunately failed to impress.
Lightly seasoned, the rice was first steamed in a wooden round container (wappa) before being topped off with assorted seafood and a dollop of rich seafood paste. The delicate taste of the rice paired with the sweetness of the seafood was truly one of a kind.
Without the fluffy eggs and sautรฉed onions, this certainly doesn't look like your typical Katsu Don. But don't be turned off by this plain-looking rendition. This ใใฌใซใไธผ Hire Katsu Don consists of crispy yet tender deep fried pork fillets (instead of the typical loin) that could not have been tastier. And of course, not forgetting that delicious ใฟใฌ tare sauce โ๏ธ Sumimasen, another bowl here please!
The yakisoba noodles make the difference between the two renditions. Plus, each ingredient is added separately here instead of the Kansai mix-it-all-up style. I ordered mine with an extra sunny side up, because why not? I love the creaminess of the yolk paired with noodles ๐
The star was surely the intensely flavourful chicken broth. You get the highest of the highest of chicken flavours. ๐
It is everything you will ever want in a gyoza ๐๐ป And it's just 260yen for 6 of these babies WHUT?!
