Open-faced sandwiches always look so attractive, don't they? With fillings blatantly displayed, it's easy to decide quite quickly if they appeal to you or not. Such was the case for me with this tuna focaccia.
I was drawn to the visual appeal of the generous amount of mayo-free tuna, tomatoes and baby arugula. Once I bit into the sandwich, I was downright smittened. The well-dressed tuna positively surged with flavour. Harmonising with it like a talented "a capella" troupe were the cooked-till-soft tomatoes, sliced onions and crisp bitter-ish rocket leaves. The thick piece of herb-laden focaccia bread did a great job of anchoring all the yumminess.
Cafe Melba is great for families with kids, they have a huge grass field for kids to run about and a bouncy castle to keep them entertained. Food was just average at best, nothing to shout about.
So where's good for dessert? One of the place you can consider for maccha goodness will be @ Tsujiri Tea House. Overwhelming experience every single time I visit Tsujiri! From a list of beverages to pastries and that will be a selection of 30 items.
If you like soft serve ice cream with a combination of Azuki red beans and parfait. Try this!

"How well done do you want your salmon?" Huh? You mean we get to choose the doneness of our salmon? That's something new. Not too rare, not too dry we opted for medium and boy was it good! Juicy, moist well seasoned salmon with a crispy skin, this has to be one of best salmon we've ever eaten. Mind you the sides are average at best but with a main like that who cares? :P
both of us had bread cravings for dinner and we had a hard time finding (within-our-budget) eateries offering meal with bread in vivo. walked past alfafa situated at the 2nd floor and we were immediately drawn in. despite its small storefront, their sandwiches are definitely rich in variety, flavour and health. they offer a wide variety of bread/wrap - multigrain, wholemeal, etc. but I tried their rye bread along with black pepper chicken and it was SO delicious. the thick and hearty sandwich is filled with flavorful chicken, abundance of crunchy veggies and just the right amount of thousand island sauce giving it a flavour burst. price was very reasonable as with a $9.90 set you get to enjoy the 2 slices of sandwich, their freshly-baked muffin (with a choice of chocolate chip/blueberry) and a refreshing cup of handicraft ice lemon tea. the auntie was also very very friendly and bubbly. will certainly visit again to try their other sandwiches such as sweet and sour prawn and cured salmon, and definitely recommended for a hearty, healthy and (super) yummy meal!!!
