Added $0.60 for soy milk. This was surprisingly super creamy (despite containing no dairy) and well-balanced! They said they didn't use oatly when I asked, didn't share which brand they do use either - - guess we'll never know. All in all, defo one of the better coffees I've had recently.

Everything here, including this chirashi don, was fresh, decently portioned and excellently presented. Prices werent too steep either, considering the quality. Really enjoyed my meal here, courtesy of my brother.

So I stay nearby, and my dad and I were meant to go to lola's for a late lunch. In view of the overwhelming queue we had to find an alternative, and stumbled upon this gem of a place just a stone's throw away. I got the Skinny (scrambled eggs and sautéed mushrooms on rye bread, served with arugula, yogurt with maple syrup and berries, and a fruit juice) while my dad got the lunch set at $12.90 which came with his main (a generous serving of fish and chips), garlic bread, soup of the day AND a drink. Was super impressed not just w the prices but also the quality of food, service and ambience!! No service charge nor gst either. So glad we decided to stop by today after AGES of just walking past without a second glance. Honestly I'd rather go here now than Lola's and will defo be back for more things on the menu - - do give this place a try if you're in the area!

Mr prata sucked big time the last time I tried it (I'm talking palak paneer which was so watery the green parts separated from the water and anaemic thosai)
Was forced to head there yesterday afternoon coz everything else in the area was too far out from my campus and was feelin sulky about it cos I'm quite particular about my egg thosai but WOW WHAT A CHANGE! This was crisp without a fault and HUGE and the dal and sambar were decent enough too. Thumbs up to whoever works there on weekends, any other time, go at ur own risk.

Dover Road Kai Kee Wanton Noodle
.
My favorite wanton mee in the whole world and no I will not stop raving about it. It reminds me of childhood, of pontian wanton mee when it first came to sg without any hype and wasn't in every single capitaland mall, of strolls to the coffee shop down the road from my house to buy wanton mee in a takeaway kopi bag before tuition on Saturday afternoons. Doesn't hurt that the people at this store are always smiley too, reminding me of grandma and grandpa. They also speak almost entirely in canto and love a short exchange with customers!

No. These are by far the worst kaya ballz I've ever had. Yakun should take these off their menu immediately and stick to the classics. Each ball was doughy and rather cakey in a DRY kind of way and with the tiniest glob of kaya pipped nonchalantly on top. No. There's a kiosk in the middle of bugis street selling the same thing but MUCH better and if I recall, also cheaper. But honestly just get them when you cross the causeway, nothing compares to those in Malaysia!

Doesn't look like much but this is the love of my life RIGHT HERE. I love jianbing so much when I was staying in Beijing for a bit I had it almost thrice a week...... Quintessential breakfast food there, but almost impossible to find here - trust me I've searched everywhere. It's tough to get the right sauce here - the only other store I've found dumps hoisin sauce over premade jianbing wrapper and calls it a day. Blasphemy!! But here, the sauce is just right: a little sweet, salty and very suited to the singaporean palate I feel. Skin and the 薄脆 (fried wanton wrapper) are commendable as well. Do give this a try!! I mean both times I've been here everyone is just lining up for the cheap malatang and at this point I'm just really confused by why mala and not jianbing took Singapore by storm these past few years. Its a big trend in other countries and the lack of it here is slightly offensive. Oh well. Enjoy!!

The stall is called Dover Rd Lai Kee Wanton Mee and it is my favorite wanton mee in the whole of sg - - lean cuts of char siew, springy noodles, generous serving of vegetables. No particular ingredient is really the star here but they come together for a simple yet flavourful dish.

I love Korean food and I've been coming to Manna Story for years now with my family. Their steamed egg and seafood pancake is to die for! This place is never really crowded and I can't understand why - hands down beats all the other chain Korean restaurants in the vicinity.

This is so hard to find in Singapore, much less using burpple beyond! I like my spiced drinks to be REALLY strong tasting and this nailed it. Only order if you like masala/cinnamon/cardamom/Indian spice things tho - - my boyfriend was not a fan.

This is my favorite mala tang in sg! I've tried a few but gong yuan really hits the spot every time. Super comforting especially in this rainy and cold season :) the mushroom one reminds me of cny steamboats, but my favorite would be the tomato mala - only if you can handle the spice though!
