Cannot emphasise how big a fan of eventasty I am. Burpple beyond makes coming to this place especially worth it - - portions are pretty huge and food is consistently good. Am a big fan of the tomato soup and dry mixed mushroom noodles. Do avoid the bone broth though, it has a strange smell I'm not very conditioned to. The sides, especially the century egg beancurd, are a must try!

Beef curry with rice, kagoshima-style pork cartilage in fish soup with mixian, condensed milk buns, yin yang, boiled veg with sesame (?)-based sauce. This was a very good (albeit pricey) meal, thanks boyfriend :) reminder to eat the condensed milk bread IMMEDIATELY cos we had it after everything else and it was cold, wet and not very pleasant. Would've been delicious hot though! You can tell lots of effort went into the fish soup as well, and the pork cartilage had been cooked gently over a v long time - - meat fell off the bone v easily. Didn't try much of the curry but it was q thick and bf looked like he enjoyed it!

I think the standard of the cream puffs has dropped SEVERELY from the last time I've been here 2 years ago. The rum ball was dry and required all my post-workout energy to break apart. Do not recommend either anymore, sadly. Breads are still decent though! It's a pity cos this used to be my favorite bakery ever when I was schooling nearby in JC.

I HATE hollandaise sauce, so I requested for it to be put on the side. This was part of the 4-course Xmas set meal currently ongoing ($25.80), salmon was grilled perfectly and the slab was generous enough. Served with potatoes, carrots and broccoli - - I felt health coursing through my veins as I ate this.

Part of the 4-course Xmas set meal at SGCC ($25.80) - - pretty light-tasting end to a very big meal. Given that most pumpkin pies you'd get outside would likely cost at least ~$6, this was really worth it!

The salmon don was super...meh. For the price I guess one can't ask for much but portions for this (and the beef don) were TINY. I really don't get the hype over this place besides the fact that it's pretty cheap using burpple beyond ($20+ for both bowls)

This was lovely! The lightly sweetened tau huay balanced out the richness of the avocado. Sprinkled liberally with sunflower and pumpkin seeds, this dessert was a brilliant end to a v hearty canto meal.

Whole grain pancake with creamed spinach, duck rilette (sandwiched in between) and two sunny side ups. This was v filling and I was pleasantly surprised given the bad reviews on burpple. Altogether a relatively healthy choice amongst the sinful picks at slappy cakes.

This was delicious. It sits tinier than the one at Mr Obanyaki at takashimaya food hall but with a much heftier price tag ($3.50). Perhaps because of the additional Warabi mochi which isn't common, but still - I would be hesitant to try this again.

I LOVE TBB's iced flat white ($5) and if you're a regular you'd know there's an espresso ice ball in there which melts slowly into the milk so your coffee isn't cold BUT diluted. Wasn't that big a fan of the French toast though, would stick with their savoury offerings like the avo and pesto on croissants etc, which I found much more value for money given that both are the same price (around $8)

This had quite a generous amount of pulled pork, but for $18++, well, it better! Nothing really unique, but a convenient location and cozy interior makes this cafe super.... popular.

Clearly for small eaters, I was still really hungry after this! Salmon and hotate were pretty fresh though, but I don't think I'll be back without burpple beyond.
