I decided to try Michelin star awarded Thipsamai* (2nd pic) and Lueng Pha Pad Thai (1st pic). The two shops were beside each other but the former has an insane long queue if you want to dine in.
Conclusion: I love Thipsamai's version better. Both are sweeter version with chewy phad thai noodles. But Thipsamai's noodle is softer and broader in width. The omelette wrap is thinner and much silky in texture as compared to Lueng Pha's too.
According to the locals, standard has fell short at Thipsamai. Nevertheless, the shop is still very popular among tourists and locals.
Special Omelette: 90 baht at both places. Additional 10 baht/adult to dine in at Thipsamai.
Thipsamai: ❤❤❤❤❤

Ordered ...
✔Combo all meat platter (140 baht) which includes roasted duck, chinese sausage, red char siew, roasted pork and some offal sausage
✔Duck and Wanton
✔ Siew mai (this is below expectation)
The roasted pork has a crispy skin. While many love the roasted duck, even deeming this to be the best duck they have eaten, I prefer the herbal duck kind. This is slightly saltier but I have to credit it for having soft and tender meat (: Overall: ❤❤❤
The meat and even the skin are so tender & soft that even if you're health conscious, you can't help but also eat the skin 😍
The innards are also great without any strong offal smell.
Don't miss out adding their homemade chilli sauce when eating. The combi is awesome!
2 pax portion pork leg: 140 baht
Mix innards plate: 50 baht
Braised pork w pig skin: 50 baht
Overall: ❤❤❤❤❤
But totally worth it!
✔Signature Grilled Chicken ($5.90)
✔NZ Sirloin Steak ($10.90)
The mains were done pretty well although I was a little disappointed with their popular grilled herb potatoes n garlic rice sides.
Overall: ❤❤❤❤
Submerged in cold water after cooking, the chicken acquired a jelly-like skin which made it succulent and tender! Yums!
Overall: ❤❤❤❤
Seafood especially crab is fresh and their secret omelette recipe (cook upon request) is delicious 😍
Love the beef cheek french dish (Joue de Boeuf) alot. The beef had the right proportion of fats and contained the essence of their secret special red wine sauce after having been slow cooked for 48hours. ✔Joue de Boeuf* (french): Tender beef compliments well with truffled mashed potato
✔ Cod (chinese): Baked cod fish with sesame glazed broccoli, a refreshing dish
✔Service: superb. Courteous and would ask for your feedback.
Overall: ❤❤❤❤
Generous with 250g minced lamb patty that is seasoned with their in-house spices, there is no gamey taste of lamb. Stuffed with loads of cheese and jalapenos, my heart is sold. Share this with a friend, for this is huge (about a hand size)! Burger: ❤❤❤❤❤
The vanilla tuile was a pleasant surprise with the lavender aroma emitted from the floral. If only the main was as good as its sides.
Overall: ❤❤❤
A pleasant surprise. What does the trick is the caramalised banana and torched marshmallow fluff which complements w the gelato.
