Roasted pistachio and Vanilla Himalayan salt. Both were a perfect proportion of sweet and savoury, the little crunch on top was a tinge of surprise (:
Order the mushroom with normal noodle ($8.90). Noodle was great, really chewy and good. Mushroom was well braised. Ambience of the place is nice and cosy (:
I'm quite a fan for rosti, and this rosti was surprisingly delicious! The cheese adds another level of texture and savoury to the rosti. I love that it is slightly less oily than the rosti at wurthans, ans the cheese baked portion was very unique to buddy. Would come back for more rosti fix!
$78 for 2 person. Ordered a sake salmon ($6.90/ 3 piece), soft shell crab salmon aburi ($18.90/8 pieces), kaisen chirashi done ($22.90), chicken katsu with rice ($14.9), miso soup ($2.9). Salmon aburi was great, flavours blend really well together, however wish there were slightly more mayo roe. The raw sashimi (salmon, tuna, yellowtail) were super fresh, with thick generous cuts, tasted amazing! Would definitely be returning for more (:
We went almost near closing and the boss agreed to take our last order since we were a group of 6. I ordered the forest mushrooms sandwich ($7.5) which comes with fries + upsize $3 for a drink and more fries. The sandwich was delicious!! Every mouthful came with a rich mushroom taste, would definitely order this again. Tried my friend's salmon sandwich, which was not as good as what I had. We also ordered fries, onions rings, cheese sticks on the side too. The finger food were great! Overall a 7.5/10, would return (:
Love the vibe of the place, very vibrant and colorful. A 5mins walk from Holland v station. We ordered the cheese nachos ($12), beyond quesadillas ($16) and vegetarian chimichangas ($16), for 2 person. The nachos and quesadillas were good. Was very impressed by the salsa sauce, perfect blend of flavours, and the tinge sweet and sour. Price were slightly steep for the serving size. Overall a 6.8/10
Order bun cha gio, beef noodle and fresh spring roll, used burpple 1 for 1 and total bill was $14.50. So glad I chanced upon this space, the vermicelli comes with a sweet and sour sauce to pour over. It was a great dish, refreshing and light on the palate. Coupled with the fried spring roll which gave a perfect balance of savoury and sweet. Food here is really good, with a very nice quiet cafe like environment.
As a matcha fan, I am very particular and discerning about anything green tea related. I wouldn't mind paying more for good quality matcha items and matchaya is one of those places. Everything came with a level of bitterness that I love. Very authentic place.
Rosti w/ grilled pork belly, sauteed mushroom & fried egg. The pork belly was amazing. Sauteed mushroom was as expected, fragrant but on the heavy side. All in all, very satisfied
Coming from a hakka family on my mum's side where my grandma always made us thunder tea rice from scratch back in Malaysia, I am a huge fan of thunder tea rice for its freshness of ingredient and how balanced it feels. The soup store here serves quite a decent bowl of thunder tea rice at $6, and you can add on a regular soup for $4. Can also choose between brown rice or pumpkin rice. All in all, a good fix!
Roasted vegetable rosti with white wine cream sauce Third time here. After commenting that the rosti we had was unevenly salted previously, we were invited back for a complimentary meal which I find was a very genuine gesture on the manager's part. Trying the seasonal roasted vege combo for the first time and it was pretty good. White wine cream sauce was a balance combi together, although can't really taste any wine. Still one of the best and reasonably priced rosti in singapore!
2nd time here because it has great food and ambience! I love that this restaurant for its homely vibe, which I find is great for a hearty meal and conversation. $117 for 5 people - used 2 burpple 1 for 1. We order 2 pelican mussaka (chicken & lamb), 2 doner hummus (chicken & lamb), chicken pide, mango smoothie, mango milkshake, lemon mint ice, 1 tea pot turkish tea. Despite it being very busy, the waiter was still very attentive. He helped to keep our birthday cake in the fridge and offered plates and utensils for us to use. Food is once again superb! To be honest, some were even better than what I had when I was in turkey. Highly recommend this place!
