We ordered the must-order har cheong pork kerepok, hae bee hiam spaghettini, mushroom and double cheese beef burger and some fries with bonito flakes and chives. The most memorable dish was the har cheong pork kerepok which was basically paper thin strips of pork belly marinated in shrimp paste then deep fried. They should just bottle this and sell it as a CNY snack already cos the umami pork belly crisps were really addictive and I had never tasted anything like this. It would be a perfect CNY snack and a welcome change from the usual boring salted egg fish skin and potato chips. The burger and fries were meh. The hae bee hiam spaghettini would appeal to those who like spice.

Came here for a Christmas gathering with the girls and we ordered up a storm. We ordered some 7 dishes amongst the 4 of us and it was truly belly satisfying haha. We had homemade fried potatoes with cheese, crispy fried anchovies with lemon, grilled haloumi cheese with lemon and oregano and Greek filo pastry with spinach, feta, leeks and dill. For mains we had grilled lamb chops with oregano and rosemary, grilled octopus and a chicken dish that I can’t recall the actual name. We were so stuffed we couldn’t fit in dessert. All of the dishes were good in their own way and this place would be a perfect spot for families and gatherings with friends. Not really recommended for a romantic date cos this place was rather noisy so just come here for hearty Greek fare with the pals. Not too expensive too. We paid about $50 per head for 7 dishes.

Came here to celebrate one of my bestie’s birthday and it was the perfect choice! We ordered a total of 6 dishes including a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream (not pictured) and all hit the right notes! We ordered the white bait with chili salt, cauliflower florets with spicy mint aioli (not pictured) sakura ebi angel hair pasta, 36 hrs duck confit with truffle emulsion and lemon mustard vinaigrette; grilled striploin with garlic ponzu. We would be hard pressed to select a favourite cos all were soooo good though I am slightly partial to the striploin just cos I’m a beef lover. The dessert paled in comparison to the appetisers and mains which were the real stars (I went back on another visit and tried the pear tart and would rate it as good as its savoury counterparts) Significant damage but totally worth it cos it was for a bestie’s birthday. Service was impeccable too. They will advise if you order too many dishes.

I would order this again and again. This fanciful name of a potato skins deserve special mention for its expertly deep fried texture without being greasy and cloying. It comes with bbq dip and a honey and mint yogurt cheese dip. The ambience is also perfect for a romantic date with the awesome waterfront views though it can get rather hot if you sit near the windows. Best to go during dinner. Oh and don’t forget to make a booking! Expect this place to be jam packed and jumpin’.

Went to Yardbird Southern Table & Bar with a few friends to try out the famed chicken and waffles and I was left sorely disappointed. Don’t know what’s the fuss about seriously. The chicken wasn’t exceptionally crunchy nor scrumptious. The waffles was soggy and watermelon was well, you know watermelon. I didn’t go back there again.

I created my own pasta and chose penne to go with the spicy pork in tomato and olive sauce. The pasta is perfectly al dente and the spicy pork is juicy and soooo yummy! I usually alternate this with the squid ink spaghetti with seafood marinara sauce. The calamari was alright. Not as wow as the pastas.

Love all things watermelon so can’t resist this watermelon cake from Paris Baguette. The slice of watermelon is extremely juicy and pairs very well with the rest of the cake. Due to the price point, alas this can only be a once in a while indulgence.

The stir fried seafood vermicelli at Saveur Thai is da bomb. Bursting with wok hei, the dish is loaded with fresh seafood such as deveined prawns, squid, mussels, onions, tomatoes, chives and egg. The hot plate beef is value for money too with plentiful slices of rather tender beef. The dish also comes with red and green peppers (antioxidants alert!), onions and cashew nuts in a tomatoey gravy. Saveur Thai is definitely my go-to place for good honest Thai fare!

It would be good if chicken thigh is used instead of chicken breast. The burger itself is rather substantial so it gets rather dry after a while. The curly fries with beef sauce tasted just as it was supposed to be haha.

The star of this dish are the avocado slices which have been deep fried in a crispy batter. The result is a crunchy exterior enveloping the creamy fruit. The steak itself is less memorable.

Hoho Korean at Sunset Way never fails to impress with its authentic home cooked Korean dishes. This seafood jjampong boasted incredibly fresh seafood with springy noodles. This bowl doesn’t come cheap though. It costs a whopping $28.
