This Chocolate Ganache Tart from Tous Les Jour at the newly revamped Tangs basement food hall deserves a special shoutout. Topped with almost molten chocolate lava, this nondescript tart has a crumbly Graham cracker like crust that is straight bussin. How can something that costs only $3 tastes so delish. Go try it to believe it. And you will need to grab at least two.

Not sure if Chateraise would be operational during the one month shutdown so decided to drop by to satisfy some dessert cravings. I got the Crispy Chocolate Cake, Legendary Fresh Cream Cake, grape jelly and some ice-cream. I decided on the Legendary Fresh Cream Cake as the strawberry milk cake was not available. Somehow the Crispy Chocolate Cake was not as satisfying this time round. Maybe cos the Legendary Fresh Cream Cake really lived up to its name as it was so light and fluffy and the juicy fresh strawberries added just the right amount of tartness. I think I will have no problem polishing off the whole 18cm cake by myself hahaha. I will be looking out for more strawberry based cakes at Chateraise. Oishi!

My birthday cakes from The Providore. Don’t have a sweet tooth but bestie insisted on me getting these as it was my birthday celebration. Pricey for their size but these babies tasted as good as they look. Guess you could judge a book by its cover, sometimes.

If I have deep pockets and a non-expanding waistline, I would buy all the offerings at Wu Pao Chun and savour them at one go for breakfast, lunch and dinner haha. Unfortunately reality bites and I could only allow myself 2 treats every time I visit the famous Taiwanese bakery. This time I got the mentaiko bao and a crispy rice studded pastry filled with curry. The mentaiko bao was really small but oh so good. The curry pastry was equally scrumptious and I would probably get this again. But then maybe not. There are still loads of yummy offerings at Wu Pao Chun waiting to be discovered by my tummy.

Of course we had to savour the famous chicken pie at Honolulu Cafe when we went to Centrepoint. We were left belly satisfied with the golden brown savoury bakes of creamy chicken encased in a mildly sweet short crust pastry shell. Honolulu Cafe would give a certain local bakery chain also famous for its short crust chicken pies a run for its money.

Love all things watermelon so can’t resist this watermelon cake from Paris Baguette. The slice of watermelon is extremely juicy and pairs very well with the rest of the cake. Due to the price point, alas this can only be a once in a while indulgence.
