a birthday celebration can't go wrong with a cake from Awfully Chocolate!
My friends And I tried the popular Chicken Thigh Noodle Soup and Dry and Kai Lan with Oyster Sauce. The soup version came with very interesting glassy noodles that was deliciously springy, while the dry version didn't disappoint with it's authentic Hong Kong noodle-feel, and that oyster sauce base, yumsssss

Had a friend brought me here as she has been fan of this place. We tried the Toast Set ($4.30++) that included toast ciabatta! bread with kaya, 2 soft-boiled eggs and a tea/coffee, tho' I changed to iced milo for +$0.20. Also ordered the Cheong Fun set ($4.30++), and the savoury chee cheong fun was served with a nice sweet black sauce and that chilli! Yums. For those who like a twist on their traditional toast, it's worth a try if you're in the area, otherwise your neighborhood coffeeshop might serve the same and a cheaper price.
Famed for their eat-until-cannot-talk-and-some-can-cry chilli, Yi Ji's Hokkien Mee ($4) is nicely fried but those that prefers a slightly wet version may not find it here. Though i heard friend say their outlet at Kovan does it wetter.
Couldn't decide what to eat for lunch, and saw a few people digging into plates of overflowing ingredients and curry, and I looked for a curry rice stall and found Yu Guo! One-man show with friendly service and delicious cooked food! // Pork cutlet was really good and crispy // Loved the overflowing tao-gay // all for $4+ plus!
Ordered something savory to satisfy the dinner palate, and the waitress recommended this. (wanted to try to Crab Croquette curry rice but did not see it on the menu). Surprisingly cheesy in a light and delicious way, with soft tender chicken pieces that's not drenched in pseudo-lemon sauce. Portion is just right for sharing if you want to dig into the other items on the menu.
Fluffy pancake topped with bananas and chocolate ice-cream/sauce, and almonds on hot hot pan! This "comfort combination" of choc-banana can never go wrong, especially when served on such a delicious bed of fluffiness.
saw the popular Matcha Mont Blanc on the menu but my friend wanted to try this, and it was not too bad. only downside was the price ($16.90++)
had this big breakfast dish for dinner, as it was one of the savoury pancakes/waffle items on the menu. filling enough for my friend and I to share taste 3/5. price 2/5 (overpriced @ $22++ imho)
ordered a variety of desserts after waiting a while for our large group of 7pax to get seated. It was worth the wait as we were looking forward to some chinese desserts which never fails here!
Got drawn in by their tagline "eat green, feel good". Tried their mushroom bowl + rice for 1 pax ($9.90nett), and it was quite filling for a lunch time meal. I hardly finished my brown rice. only after my meal, did I realise I should have gotten some red cut chilli (self-service) for my spicy tongue.
