Just a short walk from Botanic Gardens (Tanglin exit), Brunetti is situated in Tanglin Mall and serves delicious meals and desserts.
We used the entertainer app and got ourselves this beautiful plate of Penne Alfredo. The cream was delicious, chicken and mushrooms juicy, and was overall a generous, comforting plate of pasta!
Joining in on the poke bowl craze - I love the idea of marinated salmon complemented with an assortment of sides atop a bowl of carbs (or lettuce for the healthier days). This place is about as good as it gets IMO.
Spicy garlic salmon (delivers a slight tingle!), lime avocado, crispy kale chips, seaweed and ikuras (both small and large ones) atop a bowl of quinoa, yums! If good food is not enough for you, it's right in the middle of town, serviced by both City Hall and Esplanade mrt. Plus, with good planning and some luck, you'll also get the beautiful view of the Singapore skyline.
[Pro-tip #1] You get an option of white sushi rice, quinoa, or lettuce as your base. Choose your fav!
[Pro-tip #2] The outdoor seating is quite good! You'll get fresh air, more spacious seatings, and don't worry about the lack of attention if you're out, there are a couple of servers stationed outside too.
[Pro-tip #3] Make a reservation, the evenings and weekends sure are busy!
Stumbled upon this fine 2 story cafe while in the Bugis area on a Sunday afternoon. Hailing from Shanghai, Mellower Coffee is a chain of specialty coffee chains that has recently expanded out of China. Perhaps it is only the cafe chains that have the resources for a large 2-level space in such an accessible and convenient location. With this, my trusty notebook, and my gem of a companion, we enjoyed a beautiful and productive afternoon working while sipping our coffee. Also absolutely wonderful for people looking to while away an afternoon relaxing over cakes and coffee :)
10pm at night and we've yet to have dinner. Popped by this restaurant that's amazingly opened through the night, and tucked into delicious, affordable, comforting western food.
The freshly roasted chicken (the order took only 15mins to arrive, but it sure tasted freshly roasted) provided a broad range of textures; from the tender thighs to the solid body. The bed of thick fries, tangy salad, and buttery corn came together and made this an extremely satisfying meal. Cheers to suppers!
We initially wanted to walk away from this restaurant - it looked too quiet, too atas, and we weren't sure the food'll be good. And boy, were we glad we overcome these insecurities and marched right in.
Yes it was quiet, but that created a beautiful calming ambience perfect for a Sunday afternoon. Yes it was slight pricy, but we used the entertainer app and got the one-for-one promo. And the food. The food was brilliant. Tasty, rich, seafood base with al dente pasta, topped with a generous serving of delicious succulent prawns, scallops, and sprouts. Not to forget the perfect cupcakes to end off a Sunday afternoon. We were absolutely happy with the food and the service rendered. Let's gear up for the new week ahead!
Stumbled upon a cosy little hideout called Place to R.E.A.D (Relax Eat And Drink) - and that's exactly what we did.
Maybe it's because we were hungry, maybe it's because we were stressed out and craving for some savoury deep fried goodness, but in any case, the nachos were delicious. Not the typical thick and rough corn chips, these nachos were layered (like whaaat) and absolutely crispy. The warm melted cheese and tangy salsa sauce were on point too. Pleasantly surprised that this ordinary order turned out slightly extraordinary.
Friday night chillax with the bros. The food took about 20min - half hour to arrive, but as they say "good things are worth the wait". Imagine: a layer of juicy grilled eggplants over a bed of tender minced beef, topped off generously with a coat of warm melted cheese. Amazing comfort food after a crazy hectic week of work. Amazing evening hanging out with friends.
A berry delicious cup of goodness
Filled with blueberries strawberries bananas, apple juice and honey pollen, the drink is jam packed with fruit favourites. The mix is sweet - though honestly I can't tell if it's from the fruits or the honey hahah.
We added Chia seeds as topping for this drink. It's a pretty worthwhile addition in my opinion!
Ordered the white beehoon (not in photo), but felt that the stars of the meal were the add-on dishes. The sambal sotong was good, with a savoury smooth sauce over the sotong (if you eat the curry leaves, hi-5! These leaves are really crispy). The French beans were fragrant too, esp since the thinner variety of beans were used, and coupled with crispy fried silver fish.
Will also like to commend the service staff that day - the waitress was so smiley and cheery that we felt instantly brightened even when she was just taking our orders.
Overall, felt that this place is a little different from the original place, but still a good consideration for Tze char in the area.
We wanted to use our Entertainer app. Unfortunately (or fortunately), it was the first Monday of the new year, and the cafe we initially decided on was still closed. This laid the bed for us to explore the vicinity and discover this hidden little cafe.
The beef patty was thick and juicy, though the meat was a little finely minced for my personal preference. The mushroom was surprisingly flavourful, and the blue cheese was a good finish for the burger overall. Good serving size, and a beautiful place for conversations and catch ups.
Pro-tip: Request for seats at the back of the cafe if possible, it has beautiful natural lighting and AC. (Like whaaaat)
Pro-tip 2: One for one burgers on entertainer app - super good deal :) If not, the weekday lunch deals are great too!
Where else can you find such a beautiful meal? Each mouth brings back the bitter-sweet memories of my engineering undergrad days - the 1-2hrs of respite with my trusty pals after a tough day battling equations and experiments.
Tender chicken, delicious sweet savoury sauce, with fragrant curry over white rice. Added in some vegs because, well, healthy - argh, who am I kidding, it's cuz it's delicious! Happiness is made up of the simple things in life.
The fragrant aroma managed to seep into the bus. It was our noses that brought us here for supper one evening.
And when we finally tried it, the gravy was indeed delicious. The next time I'll dapao (in the traditional leaves) and let the noodles sit in and absorb the delicious gravy. Bring this noodles and it's amazing aroma home.
