The Turkey Ham Pasta ($13.90) was decent; maybe have a go at their signature pastas instead!
Overall, I Am.. definitely increased the price on their menu and while the food was fulfilling, it wasn’t consistently fantastic. Bring back Sloppy Joe Hotdog! 😋
One of their signature dishes is the Charcoal-Grilled ‘The Boss’ Burger ($18.90) and it was incredibly fulfilling. The patty was juicy and satisfying too 😋 but if you’re not a fan of crispy/dry turkey bacon, maybe you can try other burgers on their menu. You can also choose to add-on a few ingredients —we added a beef patty ($3) and battered onion rings ($2). Their onion rings are essentially an onion slice dipped in one batter because there were like 4-5 ‘rings’ within that batter so it can get very overwhelming.
We had Truffle Fries ($10.90) as appetizers and it tasted delicious for the first few bites but the truffle taste disappeared by the time we reached the middle so I think they could be more generous with the truffle oil (seems like they only sprinkled a minimal amount of truffle oil at the top).
I Am... is back with a new menu at their newly revamped Haji Lane outlet! They FINALLY have aircon on the second floor yay!We had Truffle Fries ($10.90) as appetizers and it tasted delicious for the first few bites but the truffle taste disappeared by the time we reached the middle so I think they could be more generous with the truffle oil (seems like they only sprinkled a minimal amount of truffle oil at the top). Are you a fan of gelato? If you long for gelatos similar to those in Rome, head to @aromagelato.sg to get your fix! For $7.90, this Medio size cup comes with 3 GENEROUS scoops of Caramel Sea Salt, Chocolate, and Stracciatella (vanilla with strands of dark chocolate) that promise a delightful experience! Bonus: the owners are very friendly and nice too! 😊👍
This is a must during raya and a staple in many Malay and Indonesian cuisines. The Sayur Lodeh ($5) was just nice creamy texture and excellent taste!
I had high hopes for their Ayam Belado Merah ($3.50 per pc) since it has always been perfect but it was very dry and bland during this visit
Begedil ($1 each) is always a safe side dish to order.
I enjoyed their Beef Rendang ($4) too —it’s very tender but the gravy tasted a bit bland and lacked that rendang aftertaste.
What could go wrong with Tahu Telur? For me, Indonesian cuisine is not complete without tahu telur and Minang serves a mean portion for just $6! They will kindly cut it for you so it’s easier to eat and I just love their peanut sauce that complements the crispy tahu telur well.
Note that they are very busy during Iftar time so online reservations/requests will likely be ignored but if you managed to somehow make a reservation, their service is impeccable— we were greeted by the two owners with so much warmth as they acceded to our requests and made sure we were attended to properly. Their staff was accommodating and helpful too despite being super busy! 😊👍
This student meal is SUPER WORTH IT. At $5, you get a choice of dory fish or chicken, a side, and a drink! The portions are huge for that student price 👍 get Spaghetti Aglio Olio as a side —it’s really good and makes for a filling meal! And of course, spam those well-loved sauces 😉 This has just become my favourite student meal. Can’t wait for their new outlet in Tampines Mall!
My go-to dish when i’m in need of a good satisfying burger is the Wimpy Burger ($15+). So juicy and the turkey bacon adds an overall Wow-factor too!
