Recently I tried @fatpapas’ Chicken Mac and Cheese ($13+) and it was a good alternative if you’re not feeling burgers! The portions are huge as always and the marinade on the chicken was just nice so that you won’t feel overwhelmed from all the cheesy goodness. A safe go-to dish!
I Am cafe is known for their Red Velvet/Rainbow Cake but the next time you’re here, try their Nutella Cheesecake Tart ($8.90+)! Anything with nutella is good and it truly was an amazing first bite! Do share with a few friends as it can get pretty overwhelming after awhile (as all cheesecakes tend to be).
I personally LOVE kway teow that is of wet consistency —makes slurping so easy. Decided to try Penang Char Kway Teow ($6.90) and it tasted delicious! But I should have asked for less chilli because I could barely eat half from this odd-shaped plate since it got really spicy after a while. Still, I love that it comes with a lime since I really appreciate anything spritzed with citrusy lime!
If you’re tired of overly sweet drinks from Ramadan bazaars, you should get @limaa51hajilane’s Kurma(dates) Smoothie for iftar! This refreshing concoction hits all the right spots after a long day of fasting. Still, they could use less milk and more cashews, dates, and almonds as advertised because it was too milky. Priced at $7 each and 2 for $13, this smoothie leans towards the more pricey bazaar finds, but hey, healthy food is always expensive right? 😇
If you’re looking for a satisfying softserve ice cream treat, this Cendol soft serve ($6) is for you! Such a refreshing treat on a hot day and the toppings are everything —think crunchy coconut shavings and chewy jelly in every bite. Great for sharing!
For those who love crispy pratas, this is the place for you! Pair them with their signature fish curry and you’re off on a delightful gastronomic adventure! So simple, yet so satisfying!
Plaster Blaster ($5.50) aka Prata Eggs Ben with free flow fish curry is always great for a relaxing Sunday brunch
Absolutely in love with this Hokey Pokey ice cream —perfect companion for a stroll on a sunny day!
Have always been a big fan of Burgs ever since their introduction at Golden Mile Food Centre but their latest outlet at Bedok churns out disappointing burgers. You can no longer upgrade fries for onion rings. Also, they reduced the ingredients and portion while increasing the price! The Classic ($5.50) had so little ingredients I had to add an egg to make my burger wholesome. The Korean Bulgogi Burger ($5.90) was decent though, but still dry.
For a cafe specialising in Tapas (aka appetizers), it took them 40 min to serve this (POLLO AL AJILLO $10) and the cafe was not even crowded! This is known to be their specialty so it’s very disappointing to have to wait so long for something fried. The chicken wings were very small too and they taste decent at best. Nevertheless, the service was good.
This dish (BUÑUELOS DE BACALAO $9) sounded so promising on the menu but it was a let down because it’s very dry and bland. Still, it was delicately crispy!
Truffle everything is always nice so do get this simple yet satisfying dish (Patatas Bravas Trufadas $8)
