Of course, Truffle Fries ($6) is always an amazing safe choice and although it’s served as a side, the portion was actually big!
Have you ever wondered if it’s possible to have a taste of fine dining food at affordable prices? At @brothersinfinefood, that is a reality! Known for their tasty brunch selections, you should definitely check out their Lunch&Dinner menu too! Their concept is simple: bring fine dining standard food accessible to the community (that’s why they’re situated at Tampines West community club!)😇 a must-try for me is their Duck Ragout Pasta ($7)—so creamy and flavourful their 24-hour pulled smoke duck truly made the dish a winner.
For dessert, we tried their Apple Pistachio Tart served with a scoop of Cookies and Cream Ice Cream ($9). It would have been better if we were given flavours to choose for the ice cream because somehow, cookies and cream did not complement the tart well. The tart too felt very dense. Overall, our experience was average (decent, at best) and the food at Commons is really just.... common. Not great, but not bad either. I’m so glad the price is affordable and their service professional 😊
We also ordered the Salmon Ravioli ($14) which was decent. Overall, our experience was average (decent, at best) and the food at Commons is really just.... common. Not great, but not bad either. I’m so glad the price is affordable and their service professional 😊
The Chicken Cordon Bleu ($15) has an affordable price tag but again, the portion was small. I liked the mashed potatoes and coleslaw—definitely helped ‘neutralise’ the overly salty chicken.
I’ve always wanted to try Commons at Tampines Hub so I felt pretty excited when I got the chance to eat here. We had the Mushroom and Chicken Pizza ($10) that had a nice crispy crust but had too little toppings... the pizza also took awhile to be served and we had already finished our other main courses before the pizza finally arrived.
ALWAYS GET THEIR AROMATIC GARLIC EGG FRIED RICE!!! You will not regret it—true to its name, it’s so fragrant and delicious but small portions though! I also enjoyed their Crispy Squid & their Peking Duck roll/wrap (not in picture sorry). Others are safe choices like Duck Cha Shu Bun, Molten Custard Bun, Siew Mai, Shrimp Dumpling & Seafood Chee Cheong Fan. The food was truly good (& my Chinese SIL can vouch for it!) but I just wish they would serve gradually and not all at once because we actually felt very stressed trying to eat quickly before the dim sums get cold... nevertheless, definitely worth a visit but do note that the food is pretty pricey so it’s best for family gatherings since you can try more items!😋
The last time I came here was a year ago and i’m glad that they maintained their standard! Finally got to try their Boxing Chicken and it was flavourful. The chicken is essentially drumstick and they just ‘push’ the meat from the thinner end towards the fatter part😋
Finally, we tried the Kunefe ($13) and it was ~heavenly~! Yay finally something decent after all that average food. Ps the service was good 😊 just that the food took quite awhile to reach especially during peak hours
Up next: their Chicken Shish ($19) that was supposedly a safe dish was very dry too! At least their butter rice made up for the bland meats.
Maybe you should try their Lamb Beyti ($24) instead cause it was pretty decent and fulfilling
I always crave for turkish and mediterranean food around Ramadan time. Luckily, there’s a 40% discount offer on Eatigo for Istanblue. I tried this place years ago and the food was pretty good (plus I loved their Kunefe—I mean, Kunefe is a must-have dessert right?). The risk-taker in me decided to try a Chicken Pide ($20) and I should have ordered my safe dish: Adana Chicken. The Pide had very little chicken in it and it tasted quite bland; like eating a homemade cheese pizza. At least the portion was big enough to share/if you’re a big eater.
