This dish is really quite shiok. Generous portion, sotong can easily be overcooked but this was cooked just right. Best paired with rice!
Almost everything we ordered was good except the squid (a bit tough) and the ribeye (don’t bother to try). Ordered medium rare but it came out almost well done. Got it changed and although the doneness was okay, meat was extremely tough due to the cut. Gave up eating after a mere 4-5 bites
Love love love the rice. It’s like the elevated version of nasi lemak coconut rice. The beef was lean and tender and the flavour was amazing. If there’s one savory dish you should order here, this is it.
Extremely flavourful filled with tomato base. Duck was very tender and soft
I read good review about the coffee here so I decided to visit using Burpple 1-1. My partner and I ordered iced coffee (since it was a hot afternoon) but unfortunately it was not very impressive (maybe hot coffee would be better).
I had the seafood aglio olio - While the pasta was cooked to al dante, I find the dish a little bit salty for my tastebuds. Squid was done well, not overcooked, but not the scallops. Prawn wasn’t fresh too.
My partner ordered the baby ribs. While the portion is huge, it is a little bit tough so it takes a bit of effort to remove the meat from the bone.
Specialising in savoury rice and noodle bowls, this wallet-friendly joint along Rangoon Road is one to bring your friends to for a hearty lunch around Farrer Park. The 72-hour slow-cooked Beef Rice Bowl ($14) sports tender, slightly charred beef slices and a wobbly 63° onsen egg on aromatic Japanese rice. Alternatively, have the creamy and generously-portioned Smoked Salmon ($12) bowl – opt to have it with their springy dry la mian!

Upon receiving the box, I was already blown away by how huge and heavy (not to mention pretty) these croissants are. Mochi croissants are definitely a first - these are flaky and buttery on the outside, while having a delightful chewiness on the inside. The filled ones gave a boost of sweetness too, making them much more indulgent.
It's hard to pick a favourite, but I'd have to go with the Ferrero Rocher for its rich chocolate filling and crunchy hazelnut bits. The Lemon Curd was a close second as it is zesty, tangy and buttery all in one! One thing to improve on, though, is the consistency in the filling amount - the Earl Grey and Salted Caramel unfortunately had just a tiny blob of filling.
I had the Black Angus Prime Sirloin Beef Katsu Don ($35) and it was perfect. The beef was fried to perfection with the middle doneness at medium well. Very tender and I would definitely order this again. I ordered the ume honey fruit soda for the 1-1 deal. Don’t recommend this flavor tho, tasted like cough syrup
July is Lawry’s anniversary month and they introduced a 20th Anniversary set menu consisting of 4 courses and a glass of wine. $119++ for 1 pax; $199++ for 2 pax
I got the set which comes with salad as starters, fried oyster and foie gras as appetizer, choice of main and dessert (tiramisu w ice cream or pastry w ice cream)
I got the prime rib cut (150g) as main and had it medium well. Taste and texture was absolutely amazing and delicious but I would recommend medium rare as it was more tender. Not a fan of the cream spinach (the corn suited my taste buds better)
I got the tiramisu as dessert. It wasn’t great tbh; maybe pastry with ice cream would be better.
Overall a great experience 10/10. Definitely the best I’ve had so far and would definitely return for special occasions.
While everyone else is raving so much about their aburi bowls, I decided to give the Yaki Salmon Udon today as I was craving for udon. It was delicious and healthy at the same time 😋 the udon was very QQ and felt a bit warm (maybe because the salmon is freshly cooked) Would have been perfect if the noodle was completely cooled
The exterior was surprisingly crisp and flaky, and the dough was soft and chewy. The matcha cream fillings weren't exactly the super strong buttersweet type, but each mouthful was damn shiok with the generous amount of matcha cream that was sweet with the subtle earthiness of the matcha👍🏻 Now if only this was a mainstay on their menu ☺️ #burpple #burpplesg #sugarthieves #matcha #croissant #matchadessert #ilovematcha #matchacream #whati8todaysg #whati8today #sgeats #eatmoresg #instafood_sg #singaporefoodlisting #sgfoodblogger #sgfoodies #sgfood #sgfoodhunt #sgfoodhunter #sgfoodtrend #myfooddiary #sgfooddiary #sgcafe #sgcafefood #sgcafehopping #foodforfoodie #foodforfoodies #foodexplorer #singaporeeats #hungryalreadyeats
Really enjoyed this foie gras crepe brûlée which was the second dish of the 7 course meal. First time trying this and I enjoyed it so much. It was savory and a unique twist to the usual crepe brûlée dessert. I also enjoyed the beef char siew and the beef sliders. Would definitely come back again!
