this was such a good balance of crispy prawn katsu + mayo and egg! nothing was overpowering and the prawn patty was well seasoned although i do wish the sandwich was toasted more evenly as some parts were soggy. worth with the 1-1 on burpple!

i got their lunch set - soup of the day, main and dessert at $22++ and this was such a steal! absolutely loved their salmon pea risotto, not a fan of peas but i devoured every bit.. this was perfectly seasoned and balanced, rice grains were cooked well and the salmon remained juicy despite the skin being very crisp!

after many years... this still tastes as good as it did in 2015!! got their classic salted egg chicken rice + egg ($6.50) and i love how their sauce is still as creamy and sweet! chicken remained crispy throughout, although if you prefer those with stronger salted egg taste this isnt for you!

food here is super affordable and mains are all under $14! i got the pesto chicken pasta ($9.90) and this was a steal for its price! pesto sauce was nutty and herb-y enough, except i would have liked more sauce as it got slightly dry nearing the bottom. chicken breast was nicely seared with good seasoning, it wasnt too dry and was slightly crispy at the bases! can see why this place is always packed with students

a mix of rose, raspberries and lychee, this queen ispahan was my favourite dessert there! there were so many layers to this dessert - lychee jelly, sponge cake, raspberry bavaroise and rose cream that all went really well together! it was sour and sweet, and super light on the palate

trued the kaya crossaint ($5) and this was very flakey and crispy with good local flavour! they were super generous with the kaya! i also got the pear crumble danish ($5) which i loved - pear crumble was not too sweet yet ticked off all the boxes of a good crumble, and it coated each mouthful nicely! danish below was flakey as well, and remained crispy for a long time

heard great things about their coffee so went down to ion to try it!! i got their magic coffee ($6) and topped up $3 for their edible biscuit cup, coffee was great and concentrated but id say skip the biscuit cup, there was no taste to it although it did a good job of holding up the drink! i also tried their iced matcha latte (6.5), sesame latte (6.5) and biscoff latte (6.5) of which i really loved! matcha taste was strong enough, black sesame latte had small bits of sesame inside that added great texture and the biscoff latte was p sweet and had a nice caramelised taste to it!

was thrilled to find out there was a sister restaurant of eleven strands&south union park opening so near my house so i went down and got my fav pesto prawn tagliatelle ($25 + $3 for homemade tagliatelle)! flavours did not disappoint and every strand of pasta was coated with their garlicky, nutty pesto sauce and prawns had a good bite! would definitely recommend upgrading to their homemade pasta 😋

drop by shen and co for simple, unassuming yet affordable brunch! ive gotten their french toast with scrambled eggs and cheese sausages ($12) a few times and it never fails to disappoint! scrambled eggs are silky smooth, toast is well flavoured! their latte ($5.50) comes in a super big cup with a nutty aftertaste.

initially $38, this high tea set was a steal at $26++ making it ~15 per pax! i especially loved their kani salad tacos - crispy taco shells filled with mayo&crabstick, and i also loved their strawberry mochi! the rest were pretty good too. for tea i got the geisha blossom tea which had light notes of green tea and berries!
