date night food!
i got their lunch set - soup of the day, main and dessert at $22++ and this was such a steal! absolutely loved their salmon pea risotto, not a fan of peas but i devoured every bit.. this was perfectly seasoned and balanced, rice grains were cooked well and the salmon remained juicy despite the skin being very crisp!
was thrilled to find out there was a sister restaurant of eleven strands&south union park opening so near my house so i went down and got my fav pesto prawn tagliatelle ($25 + $3 for homemade tagliatelle)! flavours did not disappoint and every strand of pasta was coated with their garlicky, nutty pesto sauce and prawns had a good bite! would definitely recommend upgrading to their homemade pasta š
got their sirloin steak (200g) served with fries and salad (34.90), requested for medium rare, was served a medium sadly but steak was still tender and juicy nonetheless!
rly recommend the korean fried chicken and vegetable fritters! jajjangmyeon hardened upon turning cold which wasnt very pleasant to eat, LA galbi was good but slightly pricey for the meat:fat ratio.. mentaiko gyoza was normal and kimchi cheese pancake was pretty good except it wasnt as crispy as i preferred my kimchi pancake to be! interesting concept thats pretty authentic
ordered : wild mushroom risotto ($21), salted egg chicken linguine ($17), truffle fries ($11), fortune tikki cocktail ($24) and honey pot cocktail ($24) not pictured! have heard raving reviews about hopscotch's cocktails, and gotta admit they dont disappoint!
honey pot was more on the sweet side, with a pleasant blend of gin, kyoho liqueur and bubblegum liqueur, topped with a honey lollipop, as compared to fortune tikki which tasted abit like an atas chin chow imo, stronger on the alcohol.
they were SO GENEROUS with the truffle fries which remained crispy the whole duration, and the whole plate was full and well topped with parmesan, overall an immaculate dish! felt that the truffle mayo was unnecessary as it was so flavourful by itself. worth the $11!
for mains, as someone that does not like mushrooms, im ashamed to say i devoured every bit of the risotto.... creamy and al dente with strong mushroom flavours, this dish someone tasted way better than other stores that served this too at a higher price point! something i didnt enjoy was the black fungus, but beyond that the wild mushrooms were tasty! salted egg linguine somehow had that "wok hey", despite not being fried in a wok, and the sauce was not overpowering and coated every stand of linguine nicely.
first, and definitely not my last time here!
