Miso cod belly, a special that has been up for a week. Not sure how long it will be up till.
But the flavour and doneness was just perfect. The turmeric pickled cauliflower was an interesting combi that worked!

I can never resist anything with purple sweet potato! The taste of purple sweet potato is definitely there and the combination with the choc waffle cone is good! Pretty good for $2

A must try in Osaka, which consist of skewered meat/ vege that is battered and fried. The batter differs from tempura batter. Then you can sip the sticks into a slightly tangy and salty sauce before eating it.
.
.
Pro tip 1: There is a popular main shop along Dotonbori, so avoid the crowd and go to the one near Namba. You can visit the Osaka museum of arts before that as well!
.
.
Pro tip 2: share a 15 sticks combi with your friend before deciding which sticks you like most. Then order ala carte for it after that. There are also more to choose from that’s not available in the combi!

Decided to try something different rather than the typical chilli Pan mee. Got the da pu noodles which was noodles with baked pork + minced pork. Added a heap of chilli ( as seen in photo) that did not come with the noodles. After all the noodles looks boring and innocent right?
.
.
10 mins later I was tearing. Unknown to me was the chilli oil below. I must say it’s quite shiok, though the flavour doesn’t match up to kin kin IMO...

Especially if the view and desserts are good!
.
.
Everything is personally handcrafted and created by Sous Chef Chris Lee. Most of the desserts has got alcohol in it from bailey tiramisu to kirsh cherry brownie..etc. I could only enjoy the non alcoholic ones like the passion fruit tart and chocolate tart. Had a teeny bite of the choc fudge and it was strong! .
.
p.s: desserts are going at 1 for 1 till further notice. So better get it while stocks last! .

Hands down the best surabaya cake around! Slightly chewy but melts in your mouth. Top is plain while bottom is chocolate and has raisins in between. This place is two floors but doesn’t have a sit down area. The queues are also non stop. If you do not want to travel specially for it, you can use GrabFood or get your hotel to call for a delivery.
.
.
$8 for a slab. Request for them to cut into slices, and you’ll get 15 slices.

I had expected huge chicken + sambal + some sides like what we have in Singapore. .
.
Though chicken was tiny in size, it was not tiny in flavour! Love the chicken with the sambal, also added on a piece of tempeh. A good meal for around SGD2! 👍🏻👍🏻

Located on 33rd floor of courtyard Marriott (Novena) is the highest bar,Urbana in my hood! And now they are serving brunch from 11-4pm on weekends!
.
.
With the pool right next to you and a gorgeous view on the other side, it’s definitely a great place to hang out with your friends or for a date. .
.
Food is cooked ala minute with the cooking station right inside and it’s perfectly priced between $16++ to $22++!
.
.
Urbana late breakfast ($22++) with choice of pork/chicken/ beef sausage + streaky bacon + sour dough + sous vide egg + homemade hollandaise sauce & hashbrown. The sour dough is definitely one of the best I’ve had in sg. 😋 the hashbrown is not those mass manufactured ones that will leave you feeling oily, it’s crisp and almost like a croquette. .
.
Classic eggs Benedict ($18++) with English muffin + leg of ham + poached eggs & homemade hollandaise sauce. A typical brunch favourite that is well executed. .
.
Thank you to @courtyardsingapore & @ stephielove for hosting. And thank you @vanessa_kou for bringing me as your +1 😘

For the jewel preview, only the milk series is available so tea lovers be prepared to be disappointed. The ordering queue is not long and will take you abt 10 mins to place an order, but the waiting time for the drink is quite crazy. The milk is light and smooth, whole pearls are chewy. Among the 3 flavours, milk is still the best. I quite liked the drink, but at $5.30 and an hour wait, I will most likely just pass on it....

Starting from the top (clockwise) : veggie, smoked duck, original, pierogi and momo curry.
.
.
Unanimously, we agreed that the original was the best. Could be the pork and the soy sauce, just a taste we are familiar and comfortable with.
.
.
But I only liked the fried pierogi and the veggie mandu. The fried pierogi was interesting with truffle potato, smoked bacon, cheddar. There was a bit of everything that went well together.
.
.
Then for the veggie mandu, it was another familiar taste. With spinach, tofu, shiitake, gochujang inside. There was this umami 😋
.
.
Smoked duck and curry lacked lustre for me. Felt that the smoked duck was too chopped which lost the smoked duckness and the hoisin didn’t go with mustard. As for momo curry, there was just a lot of curry spices. End of story.
.
.
Dumplings darling has a very small seating area so I don’t recc you hoarding seats after you’re done. Food is served fast and you pretty much eat and leave.
.
.
The platter does not fall under burpple beyond 1 for 1. Only the noodles and single flavour dumplings.

Actually it doesn’t matter which is which because they all taste the same. 😂 The noodles is pretty good, chewy and springy and the sauce is also good. Flavorful and enough crunch from the shallots. But it is hard to comment on each flavour because it is barely distinguishable. Miso mushroom has a sprinkle of mushrooms that was marinated in miso while Sichuan has that slight mala that you have to imagine. Maybe for noodles they should just combine all and just make one flavour 😅 Beyond 1 for 1 made it a pretty good deal though!
