“Count the memories, not the calories.” Yep, ending the Sunday with good food definitely takes away a little bit of the Monday blues that is about to come. Might be too herby for some but it was perfect for me. The fennel was extremely aromatic, crust was crisp at the edges, and you can’t go wrong with Kurobuta pork sausage meat and roasted peppers. Happy Monday everyone, 1 day down, 4 to go!

Not too spicy despite looking dangerously fiery. Chicken was extremely tender. Sauce goes extremely well with rice (as usual). Also, I’d recommend adding a little vinegar to cut the oiliness of the dish. 赞。

Great coffee at @theglasshousesg - light and not too acidic. I ordered a single shot but double shot is recommended. Amazing service.

Remember to eat your desserts after your meal. A luscious mix of coconut milk snowy ice, gula melaka, green worms, and red beans. Dee-licious.

Mid-week meat fest at Yakiniku Heijoen with great cuts of beef - tongue (my personal fav), harami (skirt), kalbi (ribs), and rosu (dorsal cuts). There is a time limit of 90 minutes so come with an empty stomach and be ready to receive the cow. You can eat it as it is, or wrapped with lettuce leaves and kimchi. That being said, you can order greens if you wanna feel healthier.

Fourth trip here to @chirashikingkong as it’s only less than 5 minutes away by foot. Not the usual colour of swordfish slices you’ll see here but still tastes as good.

A new little ice-cream shop @the.humblescoop has flavours that will bring you to your childhood. Only opened for about three months. The best thing is that the ice-cream is all made on-site. Decided on ‘Cereal Killer’ and ‘Pulut Hiram’. Cereal Killer is made by soaking cornflakes in milk, straining it, and adding that essence into the making of the final product. It is a little thick, but flavour is not too intense. (I do like soggy cereal 😂). Pulut Hitam was perfect for me. Do drop by if you’re in the area! New flavours coming for CNY: Pistachio and mandarin orange!

Please call to reserve 30-45mins before your meal! How to eat? Just follow the photos 😂 Chicken was marinated well and extremely tender. Lap Cheong (Chinese cured sausage) is a must. Rice was perfectly cooked with a nice bite. Scrape the bottom early to get the crispy rice bits. Adjust the amount of dark soy sauce and oil to your liking. Oh, happy Friday!

“Chocolate is ground from the beans of happiness - Alexis F. Hope”. Newly opened @lemuelchocolate with their handmade chocolate bon bons. Two rocher bon bons at the top, Earl Grey (bottom left), and Milo dinosaur (bottom right). Smooth, intense, but not overpowering. Happy days.

Sliced salmon topped with mentaiko, seared with a blowtorch, sitting on a bed of rice. It’s not just rice. It’s truffle-infused rice with tobiko. Oh so good. [Edit] an additional $1.50 is charged for extra rice!

Cavatelli, Nduja Sausage, Red Onion, Pomodoro Fresco, Pecorino Cheese.
The ‘Nduja is a spreadable pork salumi and it has a fiery taste because of roasted hot red peppers as one of its ingredients. This dish is spicy but this is lightly countered by the tomato sauce that it is cooked in, and the Pecorino cheese adds a nice saltiness to the dish. The hollow shells of Cavatelli pasta were cooked al dente, and the shape of the pasta allows it to hold the meat sauce, which makes every mouthful a pleasurable one.

Salmon & Tuna, Mesclun, Avocado, Cucumber, Tamago, Radish, Fish Roe, Shiso Leaf, Sesame Seed & Wasabi Sauce.
Party the night before and clean eating the next day. Love how the ingredients come together nicely in the bowl. The crunch from the cucumbers and lettuce, a gentle kick from the wasabi sauce, and the herby hit from the Shiso leaf. Would have loved for the lettuce to be fresher.
