Generous Protein Portion! The menu was a bit limited cause they said they’re only operating half day now, but I ordered the salmon and the beef bowl and both met my expectation! The beef was of abundance and was seasoned well, the mentaiko salmon was huge and thick too! I would recommend buying these bowls if you want a quick fuss free meal, but for a variety of choices, not so.

Huge Portion, Great Ambience Had the Avalanche Bowl and Harmony Kombucha. The Avalanche Bowl was really huge and filling. Definitely worth a try!

Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice Bowl Coming back once again to try their Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice Bowl. Came in a small bowl but full of braised porks. I really like the softness and juicy. $6.90

Fried Pork Rib Rice Taiwan restaurants here seems on the rise, with a few opening in the city area recently. Gatao recently moved to a new food court in People’s Park Centre, continue to serve their signature Taiwanese foods. The fried pork rib do have the crispy skin but sadly the seasoning taste wasn’t strong enough, and it became bland when I eating the meat itself. But the pork rib overall still tender, although a bit soggy and dry probably due to takeaway and can’t enjoy it on the spot. $7.90

Nuttymisu ($6.90) Tiramisu with a twist . Layers of mascarpone cheese, chocolate shavings, paired with caramel-coated blend of walnuts, hazelnuts, macadmia and almonds . Super nutty (hence the name). I like how The Pine Garden is generous with their nuts as I was packed with nuts in almost every bite. . Taste-wise, the chocolate shavings complimented the light mascarpone cheese .

Tripe Layer Chocolate ($3.10) Velvety chocolate cake: made from German chocolate, sandwiched between layers of soft chocolate cake . I can taste the bitterness and rich chocolate flavour from the german chocolate. And the soft chocolate cake doesn’t overpower the german chocolate but rather compliments it .

Disappointing, overpriced Visited a few weeks ago and was declined burpple beyond 1 for 1 for most dishes - claims that burpple isnt updated. Sure, ordered full price anyway - the XXL jumbo hokkien mee and truffle wanton mee. Jumbo hokkien mee had no wok hei at all, the prawns were meh, whole dish was kinda mushy. Truffle wanton mee had no flavour except for the overwhelming smell of truffle oil - guess the 2 fried wanton on top was nice. Better off going to any hawker centre for much better food for a much lower price. Also waited for almost an hour even though there were no one around, though I could see the chefs? coming in and out the kitchen with their own food for themselves while we were waiting in hunger ):

For 1-for-1 Main Dish (save ~$10) Think traditional hawker fare but upgraded when you visit this noodle bar at Syed Alwi Road. From their Wanton Mee But Better ($8) upgraded with shrimp wanton and black truffle, to their Braised Minced Pork Ramen ($9), this bowl of goodness sees 12 hours braised pork cooked to tender perfection, prawn wanton, potato shrimp with ebiko and onsen egg. Try their Squid Ink Prawn Noodles ($11), which was "definitely a signature! It made your wet Hokkien mee even more slurpy with infusion of unami flavour" according to Burppler Iris Lim.

Not bad, reminiscent of a good laksa bowl! Dry Laksa ($18 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - though the noodles were abit too soft, the sauce is thick and very flavourful, just like a good bowl of laksa. They gave 4 pretty huge prawns which were all plump and fresh! Not bad can try.

Pretty delicious Mentai Don! Salmon Mentai Don ($18 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - mentaiko really can't go wrong and for this bowl they were pretty generous with the amount of sauce! As for the salmon pieces, it seems like it's lesser than that of Chirashi. I still love the rice in here! The onsen egg just pairs well with everything in here 😍

Chunky fresh pieces of sashimi, not bad Lecoq Chirashi ($16 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - pretty generous with the sashimi ingredients, the sashimi pieces were fresh and chunky! I must say they gave alot of rice, but I ain't complaining because their rice were well seasoned and pretty darn addictive. Love the onsen egg as well, as it acts as a good medium to combine everything together!

Egg Plant Egg Plant(~$6) - Can't remember the price here but it was good but also can be better I feel. Like not enough charred taste to it. Texture was gooey and soft. Love the spam of garlic haha. Kinda super oily tho.

More Skewers Quail Egg($1.50/stick) was neatly spiced. Pepper($1.20/stick) - I just love grilled chilli. Bread($1) - Simple butter sugar toast. Standard taste. Can have more sugar added haha. Grilled Sausage($2) - Nicely grilled.

Oyster($5.80/pcs) Oyster($5.80/pcs) was slurpy with a load of garlic, but on the expensive side.

Cranberry pecan A warm toasted bread and coffee can bring immense joy.

Tea break Tea Break at @breadandhearth Iced Lemon Tea (S$5.90) For the group of 6 we were lucky to get a table at the back indoor to escape from the heat.

Cinnamon roll The cream cheese sugar top might look cloying sweet, but it isn't! Great balance to the thick and fluffy bread with swirls of cinnamon within. Worth a 3.20$ treat.

Divine felafel sandwich Not only is this place kosher, halal, and vegan, but it also shows that vegan food can be tasty too <3 I love the fill free sandwich. I also recommend the pita chips and the babaghanoush 🤩

back at my fav place for hummus & pitas! I tried their PITA CHIPS ($3.50) which was 1.5 pitas cut into thin strips & deep-fried till crunchy💥💥 They were then dusted with cajun & za’atar, and served with tahini and harissa. super addictive but pls share bcoz i finished it and the oil was swimming in my stomach HAHA

Salted Egg Soft Shell Crab Pasta ($28.90) One of the better salted egg dishes that isn’t overpowering at all, having the chillies and curry leaves balance the taste profiles and adding a kick of spice to it all. The soft shell crab was very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We used the Burpple 1-for-1 deal here - it’s applicable for the Main Dish section of the menu. Slightly towards the pricier side (fair, considering its location, ambience, and quality of food) however made absolutely affordable with the 1-for-1 deal. The place is well done up contributing to a fantastic ambience, and service was great - staff were very friendly. I can see myself coming back again.
