Conveniently located in the heart of Jalan Besar on Maude road, Wan He Lou is a humble looking Chinese restaurant serving an array of seafood dishes at down to earth prices.

One of the must try dishes is the signature Lobster porridge, priced at $29.90 for 2-3 person serving or $39.90 for large that serve up to 5 person. The lobster broth is robust and full of natural flavours, and the meat is luxuriously tender and flesh.

It's great to see the guys behind the previous Shoebox Canteen / Bitters & Love set up this new cafe & bar space along Telok Ayer Rd.
β‹…
In the day the shop is a cafe called Free The Robot and by night it transforms into Bitters & Love bar. Plus I heard on weekends they have a cute mascot called Baileys who I've yet to meet! 🐢
β‹…
The cafe has free wifi & power plugs too, perfect for working during weekdays! Just added to #WorkHardAnywhere so check it out!
β‹…
And hey Fiona at the cafe who helped us organise a Coffee & Cravings event in the early days!

Thank you @dianaaatan and @explodingbelly for spending quality time. 😏

Love this space. Why can't all condo and apartment have a cafe like this and I can get my coffee craving fixed every single day with a nice place to chill.

New to hipster enclave of The Bedok Marketplace is Hot Pans, a stall which focuses solely on Dutch baby pancakes. Open from noon till 10pm, you'll be able to settle your cravings long before dinner. For the uninitiated, these babies are warm, eggy, crepe-like pancakes served in a small pan. The Classic Dutch Baby is the simplest of the variations served here β€” a choice of drizzle and a scoop of ice creamβ€” allowing you to experience it in its true form. For something a little fancier, go for the Cinnamon Apple Crumble ($7.50) that comes with caramelised apples, raisins and salted caramel ice cream. This is a great dessert to share after a good meal.

Hidden behind an unassuming door along Telok Ayer Street, Free The Robot shares the same space as Bitters & Love, operating in the day while the latter takes over in the evening. This rustic little space is lovely for a calming, simple lunch of Beef Meatballs with Jasmine Rice ($11), featuring chunky handmade meatballs and soft, fluffy rice. For a light breakfast bite, have the Sous Vide Egg with Jamon Ham, Truffle and a slice of Brioche ($5), the savoury cured meat and heady whiff of truffle adding a lovely twist to the local favourite of half-boiled eggs. Coffee is brewed from blends supplied by Toby's Estate, perfect for your mid-day coffee run. If you're up for something interesting, try the Free The Robot Signature ($6) β€” cold-pressed coconut oil, milk and espresso using Woolloomooloo beans!

From the folks behind Carvers & Co, Wolf Burgers is situated within the just-launched PasarBella at Suntec City, which sees a food court-like concept where diners order from different β€œstalls." Following the popularity of their beef burgers at Carvers & Co, Wolf's menu also includes pork and chicken varieties, alongside three types of waffles. Go for the Pork Gochujang burger ($9.90) β€” a pork patty char-grilled to-order, topped with Korean-inspired grilled cucumber and kimchi. For something classic and satisfying, the Alpha Burger ($14.90) will do the trick with two thick, chunky beef patties coated in a double-layer of melted American Cheese and caramelised onions. Add a side of crispy, well-seasoned Sweet Potato Fries ($5) to complete the meal. This seems like a good spot for after-work dinner, especially for groups who can't decide where to eat!

Besides their wonderful Shibuya toasts, Meet & Melt does surprisingly amazing waffles. The waffles are wonderfully crisp on the outside, fluffy and moist on the inside. We topped our charcoal waffle with a scoop of salted egg ice cream and some salted egg sauce - talk about an overdose. The flavours are intense, rich, and the most authentic I've tried. It really is the dessert embodiment of salted egg yolk, and not some watered down/overly sweet or salty flavour. The flavours are amazing, but consider sharing cause it can get a tad overwhelming.
