Maybe it was an off-day for the kitchen, but the crabmeat pasta was a plate of soft, watery, bland mush ): It felt like I was eating baby food, with the exception of the generous chunks of crabmeat. I think the crabmeat was the only saving grace, but this definitely wasn’t the best out there. It was a deeply dissatisfying experience after an entire day of anticipation.

My friend’s kurobuta pork on the other hand - delicious, savoury, melt-in-your-mouth fats that I would happily shell out full price for.

Went back again at noon, and it was crazy packed with office workers this time round. Staff had some difficulty coping with the crowd, but still had good service â˜ș The burger is filling, and the chicken was moist and tender :’) The sriracha aioli is strong, so if you don’t like sriracha like me..... skip it. I also couldn’t taste the spicy salsa and avo. Much prefer the steak burger or the dry vermicelli to this. But! Still very much worth it with Burpple.

I come to Northpoint often but never noticed Nuodle until I searched Burpple haha. It’s in the new wing, opposite hotwind. Hubs and I ordered the signature beef la mian with flat noodles and the bean paste la mian (zhajiangmian) with normal noodles + two drinks for $13.80 total. The zhajiangmian is more like a light stew with cubes of chicken, potato, carrots, and tofu. Healthier, but not thick paste with minced meat that you’d expect or crave. The beef la mian was tastier, though fairly salty. Portions are filling, and it’s a decent stop for food in Northpoint. Only wish that my zhajiangmian came piping hot instead of lukewarm!

Been patronising Bread Yard since they first began at SUTD’s one-north campus, and I wish they’d bring back the rendang and bread pudding! Went for the shakshuka ($14), and added mushrooms ($2.50), which was 10% off at lunch time with a reservation via eatigo. It was a fairly filling with two large slices of bread, two eggs and substantial amount of sausage. However, the shakshuka itself is more watery than hearty tomato/pepper sauce that I was expecting. The bread looked crisp on the outside and appeared to be soft and fluffy inside, but it’s actually quite dense and chewy - great for dipping into the shakshuka, but not so much on its own with butter (happy they provide butter tho!). Skip the mushrooms cos they were fairly wet and tasteless.

Shared the Burpple premium set with a friend ($30.90, no extra charges), which came with two dons, salads, soup, drinks, and four pieces of chicken drumsticks (not pictured). The soup had radish and salmon pieces, besides the usual seaweed! Was quite surprised by the generous spread, plus the free flow eggs. I found my mentaiko salmon unevenly cooked - one half was moist and tender, another half was slightly chewy and on the dry side (I just had to start on the nicer side first T_T). Otherwise filling and delicious!

Service was fast and good, especially cos we dropped an gooey egg haha. Downside is that it’s a small eatery, so you’re seated elbow-to-elbow with other diners.

As you can tell from the picture, trying to eat the frozen s’mores is a messy affair! The chocolate icecream beneath the layer of marshmallow is truly frozen, plus the tart base is hard to break into smaller pieces to eat. Nonetheless, it was surprisingly delicious with the rich icecream and soft marshmallow layer (I usually hate s’mores cos they’re sticky). I think it’s a great dessert best eaten by yourself, so that you can pick it up to bite into instead.

Friend and I ordered the breakfast spread option with scrambled eggs, and no regrets! Plate was balanced in flavour and filling, and I particularly liked the mushrooms. Also enjoyed the refreshing passionfruit drink. The cafe itself was crowded on a Saturday morning, and small groups/pairs likely need to share a table with other people like we did. 10/10 happy to come back again if I’m craving a western breakfast, and a worthy-try for those with Burpple 1-for-1!

Used Burpple 1-for-1 for the steak burger and pork belly vermicelli ($13 each). I clearly went for it before remembering to take a picture haha. Burger had several slices of beef, which wasn’t tough to chew! It came with a generous serving of fries, which weren’t oily but may be too salty over time. Friend’s pork belly vermicelli (dry) was tasty (meat to fat ratio was good), and filling.

The place itself is clean, and provides water. Staff were also friendly. Plus no service charge or GST! Super value-for-money, especially with 1-for-1.

I LOVE chocolate, and was quite excited to give this a try. The platters are $14 each, but used Burpple Beyond to try the pastry and ice cream platters. Enjoyed the smooth ice cream and identifying the different tastes of each origin (70% Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic). While it’s described as single origin dark chocolate ice cream, it was sweeter and lighter than anticipated.

The pastry platter was underwhelming, with a single tiny piece of cream puff (65% Grenada), salted dark chocolate blondie (70% Costa Rica), dark chocolate sablĂ©s with tea caramel ganache (70% Cuba), and dark chocolate mousse with earl grey crumble and passion fruit chocolate (70% Dominican Republic). The first three were average, while the chocolate mousse is worth a try for those who prefer dessert to be less sweet. Otherwise, I’d suggest to give this a miss.

Will be back again for the ice cream, and to try their chocolate drinks!

Enjoyed the wagyu beef set ($49.99) and the pork collar (not pictured) ordered using Burpple Beyond, with the tang hoon. I didn’t count, but I think it was at least eight pieces of wagyu beef and pork collar each? Meat was tender. There was a decent spread of veggies, mushroom, beancurd items. The mala soup base is tasty and spicy. In contrast, the herbal chicken soup base was flat and bitter. Was hungry before dinner and usually eat big portions, but struggled to finish this! Friend had the bak kut teh soup base, which is extremely peppery, and enjoyed the sour tom yum soup base.

Don’t think I’d order the wagyu beef set again without 1-for-1 as $49.99 is quite steep. But worth coming back for their more affordable sets.

Not pictured is a bowl of fries!! This is like fish and chips served in a burger with a side of salad and onion rings. It was HUGE, and the fried fish wasn’t oily. Couldn’t taste the citrus though, and the onion used had a sharp aftertaste.

Ordered this using Burpple Beyond, and it’s worth it at half price. Sauce was slightly spicy, and the soft shell crab was crispy. It’s a huge portion that I enjoyed finishing. Service is also good!
