The mascarpone cheese with pistachio paste with bailey soaked sponge fingers are to die for ❤️ The flavours so well balanced, it's so so easy to eat! I can easily finish one by myself 🙊

Happy sweet Thursday!

Earlier this month, they launched their Beef hotpot ($55 for 2 pax or $88 for 4 pax) which contains a huge (refillable) pot of beef broth, filled with beef balls, tripe, beef brisket, beef tendon & morning glory (Kang Kong). On top of that, you get a side of sliced short rib & sliced sirloin for you to dip & cook! You can also choose a carb, either fragrant rice or noodles (I suggest the Thai kwayteow or tanghoon) & it's free flow!! Top up another $10 & you get the hot plate as well, and another portion of meat for you to fry!
Grab your troops for this one beefy good meal 🥘

This iconic Russian-Hainanese eatery has reopened, and while the interiors may be refreshed with a new colour scheme, the signature Shashlik experience of classic tableside service is still intact thanks to many former waitstaff returning to work, bow tie and all. Take your parents out for a nostalgic meal and enjoy the Shashlik Beef Skewers ($32) which come on a hotplate, along with a portion of slurp-worthy Escargots ($32/dozen). If you're here on a weekend, go for the Oxtail Stew ($32) — braised for a whole day till meltingly tender. Finish off with the flaming Baked Alaska ($24, serves two) for dessert.

When I heard the description of this Chicken Pozharsky -- 'minced chicken breaded and fried', I must admit I wasn't keen, but still went ahead and ordered since didn't know what else would fit mum. But oh don't you judge by the description. 💫

This came - 2 sizeable pieces soooo juicy on the inside that the juices dripped out when cut. We enjoyed every single, well-seasoned on outside and inside, bite of it. ($20)

This plus, the customary provided wonderfully warm, soft and fluffy hainanese bun served with butter to start, was enough for 2 ladies. Totally perked our moods, and can see why their popularity continues at this Russian outfit. We had the borsch as well. Can't wait to return to try the Shashlik.

This was the night's most disappointing dish as the sauce was not able to complement the dish to the next level. While the ribs were cooked till tender, it really wasn't the waste of calories.

Fantastic.

What more could i ask for? 😋 Pic is blurry as i was shaking & can't wait to savour it! (haha i kid! just lousy photo skills). See previous posting for more info.

Rating: 9.6/10

Will i return/recommend: Yes/Yes

Pros: Quality food, well executed. It is pricey but it’s meant to share as a starter dish. Quantity is definitely sufficient even after portioning into 2. Generous servings of raw scallops which were extremely sweet. This dish is so simple yet mind-blowingly good. If anything, do attempt to try it at least once in your life 😃

Cons: Uni mid-grade type. The flavours doesn’t hold & gets tiresome when you’re mid-way through. But once you’re down to the last spoonful, that’s when you start to ‘panic’ 😂 Throughout the entire meal, nobody came round to check on us nor asked if we would like any desserts/coffee/tea to end our meal with, which is the most standard thing 😕 So we went to other nearby cafes instead 😀

Price: S$88++ for Cold Pasta Uni Scallop (each order portioned out into 2 plates, whats pictured is half). Do not attempt to eat this by yourself, you will get sick of it (very jelat)

The popping candy, soil and pebbles offered gravelly chocolate crunch in spades, whilst elsewhere the prosecco rosé jelly was a delirious, wobbly tease and the strawberry rhubarb compote an electrifying bolt of sweetly tart lightning. 3.9/5

This was a hosted meal, courtesy of Non Entrée Desserts. The dessert also comes with a perfume pump (unpictured) which you can apply either on the dish for some floral refreshment or yourself if you reek of piggy boniness from the Bak Kut Teh next door.

This place is basically Zichar gone atas. With comfortable seating ambience and fully air conditioned. Friendly wait staff, and extremely young and attentive boss on helm, the place to be when you want something laidback with good coffee around the corner, or a plate of fresh sashimi on the right.

And of course, ingredients freshly farmed locally like this plate of lala clams, you don't have to travel far just to get some. Heavily stir fried with garlic and Chilli, this plate of extremely garlicky goodness give anyone the shivers. But this plate isn't all about the mush, they sprinkle generously with deep fried shallots to give this already tasty clams extra flavour and crunch.

They had $5 / $8 / $10 size and ordered the $8! The oysters are big and juicy, its not that oily, more eggy and crisp on the sides. I do enjoy this but i prefer it to be a bit more starchy.
