don't get the hype over tanuki raw??? we got the foie gras truffle yakiniku don and salmon kaisen don and both tasted pretty normal. their signature rice is nice on its own but doesn't seem to go w the yakiniku/salmon... tasted a tad dry. yakiniku don was slightly better bc it had the egg to go w the rice. more eggs would be gr8 im a fan of onsen eggs 🙋‍♀️ salmon kaisen don could really do w a lot more sauce!! the entire bowl was bland.

there was a decent amount of ingredients but do get the bee hoon if you want to feel full. i stopped liking fishballs and this bowl didn't change my mind about that. I thought all the items tasted pretty normal but the chilli helped to elevate the taste.

tried my first ever nasi padang from STREAT, one of the events under the Singapore Food Festival! priced at $9 (pretty sure the original price at the stall is waaaaay cheaper), the chicken rendang set came with chicken rendang (of course), bergedil, fried anchovies with peanut and lontong. I was slightly doubtful that this would taste great, since everything was precooked and thus likely to be soggy, but wow I was so wrong. the chicken rendang was so tender and the meat came off so easily. the outside of the bergedil was crispy and the inside was mushy, the way I like it. the fried anchovies with peanuts were so crispy; I'm so thankful for the generous amount of it. and the lontong!!!! wow!!!! the first time I tried lontong, it was so hard and tasteless. it being my first time, I thought lontong always tasted like this and I didn't want to waste my calories on it so I actually asked the stall if I could have less lontong and they kindly gave me one more bergedil instead. the second I tried the lontong, I regretted my request because this one piece of lontong was soft and went so well with all the dishes, making me wish I had more. the chilli that came with it was so sweet and spicy!!! even though the afternoon sun was shining down on me, all I wanted to do was to devour the chilli. am definitely going to visit one of their stalls soon!!!!

went there excitedly for dinner, hoping to get their turkey but was majorly disappointed bc noOoOOOoo they changed their menu and no more turkey :((( got the salmon instead for an additional $2, with soba, mushrooms, pumpkin and an egg. everything tasted so different from the last time I came???? the soba had a smoother texture and felt lighter on the palate. salmon was a lot softer (yay) but was slightly salty. mushrooms were less salty than before, till it was on the bland side. the egg was the same, tasteless but at least the yolk was soft. first time trying the pumpkin and it was pleasantly soft and sufficiently tasteful :) many changes to the menu and taste of the food but it sure remains a super balanced meal that is so filling! but please bring back the turkey!!!!!

the set lunch comes with a bowl of salad and miso soup. i like my rice moist so this was perfect with the egg. the chicken is so tender and i have no idea what those yellow strands are but they went so well with the rice!!!!

i thought the gravy tasted different and didn't know it was herbal broth until i read the reviews. rly makes the dish less jelat! i loved the noodles but the chicken didn't rly add much oomph to the dish. will be back to try their more popular fried fish dumplings hor fun!

the presentation looked better in the menu but im so glad the taste matched up to my expectations. the hamburg was rly juicy and soft, and the omurice went rly well w the sauce!! came here w my family and for all the dishes that we ordered, the sauce and rice pairing kept us wanting more!!! doesn't look like much but it was a really satisfying meal :)
