Pork Knuckle (Large) Came here to try their pork knuckle after having discovered their existence. Asked them what’s the size like for their S, M and L. The staff said S is for 2 pax, M is 3-4 pax. My friend and I decided to go for L as we were both rather hungry. Turned out, the portion was just about right for 2 of us. The crackling was done well as it was able to retain its crisp even after the pork knuckle has cooled down. The meat on the other hand was ok, nothing to shout about. Also, I was expecting a bigger sized knuckle for the “L”; so I was a little disappointed when I saw the size when they served the dish.

Crocodile Schnitzel (SGD$35.00) - breaded fillet of crocodile, served with a bed of salad and French Fries. While the crocodile schnitzel was succulent instead of tough (I'd tried homemade crocodile soup before and the flesh was rough), I was hoping that it would be crispy but it was soft; I also didn't like the tiny pickled dices that were slathered over the schnitzel, giving it a sweet taste.

The Escargots (SGD$10.00) were next. Unlike the usual baked escargots served in palettes and coated with cheese, these were simply steamed with spices and therefore we could taste the raw sweetness of the buoyant flesh. It was so fun to eat these, I was tempted to order another half a dozen of them. However, the steaks are not the best in Singapore (in my opinion, Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse is more flavourful), but they’re certainly the most expensive. Other premier steakhouses like Wolfgang’s, Morton’s or even Bedrock are better value. Service is friendly, but not pro-active - you have ask for things. Don’t allow you to bring your own wine. For my birthday, they don’t even offer a cake; just put a candle on a dessert that we ordered ha ha! Ambience is a bit sad and cramped. I certainly will not go back!

Iced Matcha Latte ($7) opt out for skinny (low fat milk) and it was too grassy texture and too much millky aftertaste.

Berrillici0is Souffle Pancake ($18) request for putting sauce on the side if you dont wanted to be sweet. The pancake was quite jiggy, soft and not that soggy. one of their best selling at the menu. berry sauce was quite sweet and complemented well with the pancake.

Great pasta & decent coffee! [BENCOOLEN, SINGAPORE] Can't believe I ordered pasta at 10am in the morning, but it was definitely satisfying 😂 The Seafood Squid Ink Spaghetti 🍝 ($22) at @twentyeightcafe was well executed, as the pasta was al dente and well flavoured with prawn oil for a more intense seafood flavour 😍 the seafood ingredients may be frozen, but they were well cooked as they were still snappy 😋 although it was quite spicy, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I paired the pasta with an Iced Latte (around $7) which was also quite decent. It could have been slightly more intense, but the chocolate roasty flavours were definitely noticeable! As it has a big space, this cafe is good for big groups or if you want to complete your work there. Will be back :)
