Those looking for an elegant dining experience should look not further than Ingleside, A 5 minute stroll away from Maxwell MRT, we were blown away by the stylish decor, attentive service and, of course, impressive food, which was based around the techniques of fermentation, dry-ageing and wood-fire cooking.

For appetisers, the Hokkaido Scallops were fresh and were paired well with tangy fermented tomato dressing. The Grilled Asparagus was wonderfully crunchy with dollops of garlic aioli. The Truffle Pomme Puree was sinfully rich and not over seasoned, as with most truffle dishes.

For the mains, the dry-aged Wagyu Picanha was a bit rare than expected but still fared well with a markedly earthy taste and paired well with the aromatic banana shallots. The dry-aged Iberico Chuletaro was amazingly tender, with pickled mushrooms, charred corn brushed with beef garum, potato puree and marsala sauce punctuating the dish in sweet and sour notes.

The lemon and ginger spritzers made for a refreshing palate cleanser throughout our meal. The staff were also welcoming, attentive and even provided us with complimentary desserts to celebrate a birthday. Kudos to them!

Highly recommended for an intimate date night, or a fancy dinner out.

A traditional soup restauranted located in the heart of Geylang with a parking lot conveniently located across the street, though the latter was full when we came around 7.30pm.

The Cordyceps Chicken soup was extremely flavourful, while the chicken itself was still moist and not overboiled. The piping-hot Fish Maw soup was full of collagen, giving it a creamy texture that was not too thick at the same time. Both dishes were served with generous portions of ingredients - be prepared to eat a lot of cordyceps!

The side dishes were not too be outdone too. The Chai Poh Omelette was greatly balanced, with the egg not being too salty so as to allow the Chai Poh flavour to come through. The Jade Tofu was lightly fried and not too oily. Likewise, it was not flavoured too heavily so as to pair better with the pickled radish sauce, making for a perfect comination of taste.

A big bonus was the lack of thirst we felt after the meal, indicating that there was little to no MSG used in the soups and the flavours were all painstakingly produced by the boiling of ingredients.

The service was impeccable and the free ice cream was a nice touch. Herbal soup fans won't want to miss out on this!

A small bakery situated in the Parkway Parade Cold Storage. The staff was very patient with his recommendations and knowledgeable about the pastries as he gave us some tips on how to reheat them for later.

The scones were delightfully buttery and crumbly. We also got the sweet cream which paired well with the pastries.

Would definitely recommend as a breakfast treat or as party goodies!

Visited the branch at Gardens by the Bay, which had a lovely atmosphere.

The food was great, and we were particularly impressed by the Brussel sprouts, which were fried to perfect crispiness and drizzled with honey soy sauce for a nice acidic finish.

However, the restaurant's wow factor were their cocktails. I had the Summer Fling, an edible cocktail inspired by Taiwanese ice jelly and presented in an impressive smoking glass bowl, while my partner had the Heirloom, a cocktail inspired by Hakka abacus seeds and was rich in Taro flavour. The cocktails were so impressive that we also got the branch-specific Garden Rhapsody, a which was served in a lit glass meant to represent the Supertrees that served as the background of our dinner.

Overall, a pleasant experience with good ambience, food and service. Would certainly recommend for a date night or for a family dinner!

A cozy eatery located a stone's throw away from Cold Storage Jelita specialising in sourdough pizza, which was light and fluffy - definitely not as heavy and starchy as traditional pizzas.

We had the Jap-a-dog and Assam pizzas and these flavours didn't disappoint, with familiar Asian flavours seamlessly integrated with the classic pizza base. A pro-tip would be to request for some of their homemade chilli oil, which was the perfect dip for leftover pizza crust. Other things to look out for would be their 2-for-1 drinks, which is perfect for those into fancy IPAs and wines, and their tiramisu, which was decadently rich and bursting with coffee flavour.

The service at the restaurant was also exemplary, with staff that were not only attentive to our requests, but were also knowledgably presented the dishes to us.

Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would definitely visit again!

Hong Kong style cha chaan teng situated a stone's throw away from Novena MRT.

We had a great start to our meal with the bolo bun, which was wonderfully crispy. Out of the mains, we were most impressed with the signature char siew scrambled egg rice; the char siew was charred to perfection and was a delicious mix of umami and sweet, while the egg was fluffy and complemented the meat well.

Another dish worth mentioning was the curry beef claypot, which came with a generous serving of melt-in-your mouth beef tendon and soft potatoes coated with still-bubbling curry.

Overall, the food, coupled with the attentive staff and cosy ambience, made for a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Would certainly recommend for a meal out with loved ones and family!

A convenient walk away from Telok Ayer. The well thought-out interior mirrors that of izakayas across Japan.

My partner and I were particularly impressed with the pork jowl, grilled squid and mentaiko crab. The well-seasoned meat paired wonderfully with the richness of the onsen egg, while the squid was charred to perfection, with the flesh springy yet not chewy. The umami of the crab was delicious as well, and the presentation of the dish in a crab shell gave it extra wow factor. Of course, we had to pair our Japanese fare with an ice-cold mug of Sapporo beer.

Would certainly recommend for a fun night out with friends, family or partners!

A sophisticated restaurant serving Fujian/Min cuisine, situated on a street known for its variety of Chinese restaurants. Had a lovely meal with the family on a Friday night.

The standout dishes for us were the popiah, crab glutinous rice and fujian-style noodles. The popiah comes with a generous selection of ingredients which you can then self-roll in a silky wrap, which was a lot of fun! The mud crab was especially fresh and paired deliciously with the homemade glutinous rice. The noodles was lavished with "wokhey" and was well-fried.

Overall, a restaurant that offers a cuisine different from the usual Singaporean Chinese fare we have and is perfect for a family meal.

A nice bar and grill tucked away in Choa Chu Kang. Great place for enjoying drinks and music with family and friends. Preferable to drive as the location is a bit far out!

Would recommend the carbonara, which was light without being too creamy, and the Ondeh Ondeh cake which was delightfully sweet.

The Seafood Soup with Crayfish and Prawns was served in a very generous portion. The soup was flavourful and tasty, and both the crayfish and prawns were very fresh and tender too! Also ordered the Ginger Braised Duck which complemented the seafood soup. Recommended for those who's in or around the Woodlands area.

visited with my mom and we both thoroughly enjoyed the mains. ribs were tender with the meat sliding off the bone. the steak was also seared to perfection!

sides were also delicious, particularly the chilli cheese fries!

waffles were unfortunately a bit of a let down, as the texture wasn't crispy nor fluffy.

still, had a thoroughly good time with the scrumptious mains and sides 😊

The dumplings were very flavourful and generous with fillings. My family and i tried 5 flavours - 4 savoury and 1 sweet. My favourite one was the hokkien salted egg and my parents enjoyed the emperor and pulut hitam one as well! It is definitely one of the better nyonya dumplings out there, being super generous with ingredients and well flavoured rice. I could see myself eating it for a meal, or even for a mid day tea snack! Highly recommend it as a gift for any elders, especially if they enjoy traditional flavours.
