A thick, fudgy brownie surrounded by crunchy bits of chocolate soil & honeycomb. Topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream & drizzled with salted egg yolk sauce.

May your week be smooth & sweet, peeps!

If you're bored of the usual brunch items that most cafes serve, then you should totally try the food at The Laneway Market. Joining several new cafes along the Tanjong Katong Road stretch, The Laneway Market offers unusual options such as Nacho Chicken and French Toast layered with Bacon and Baked Beans. For mains, try their Pulled Pork Burger and Gambas (soba topped with roasted sesame infused minced prawn). We hear they have a second storey currently in the works!

I don't want to sound mean cos I'm all for enterprising F&B enthusiasts with eager young staff, but there is only one way to break this down: this was terrible. The chicken was neither soggy nor crispy, more like a weird airy cross between the two, the meat itself bland and uninteresting. Meanwhile, the moisture from the salad seeps into the lacklustre waffle, which was notably undercooked – there is a difference between "soft and fluffy" and "soft and mushy", and this was unfortunately the latter. I'm really sorry, but there was absolutely nothing redeeming about this dish.

This was the side that came with my buttermilk fried chicken. Actually added $5 to upgrade from normal fries, kinda pricey but we probably wouldn't be able to finish the full sized one anyway. these fresh handcut fries were pretty good - so tasty, soft on the inside & rightly crisped albeit a little too greasy. probably one of the nicer truffle fries I've had. (We added our Chilli con carne to this and made our own Chilli cheese fries. SO SHIOK)

As advertised. Great bun to patty ratio. Every bite is so easy, it's smooth like a knife slicing through butter. Meat was good, but the bun makes it so much better. Get the large cheese fries, forget the truffle option. Definitely will visit again.
