Still remember this first night at Niseko. Upon check in, we excitedly ventured out in our little rental car, and came to this Niseko Village in search for dinner. The best thing we ate that evening was hot oden outdoors, while someone gave us hot sake for free. What follows the next few days were skiing on Niseko's powder snow for another 3 days.

Hopefully by Dec, the world would be a safe place for travels again.

I've been a fan of Sichuan food ever since dining around Chinatown with my PRC classmates when I was in Boston, who exposed me Sichuan cuisine over my one year spent there. Yesterday, I discovered that Silkroad at Amara serves Sichuan food with the authentic taste that I was accustomed to.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Pictured are (prices before 20% discount):
1. Sliced Beef and Tripe with Spicy Sauce* ($14)
2. Twiced Cooked Sliced Pork with Leek ($22)
3. Traditional Sichuan Spicy Diced Chicken* ($22)
4. Wok Fried French Beans ($18)
5. Mapo Tofu ($18)
(Swipe for the original packaging it came in).
๐Ÿ”ธ
The two dishes with * are what I think you should order. The beef tripe are soft and slippery, drenched in the spicy sauce. The spicy diced chicken was well-fried in lots of chilli, that my neighbor Victor also thought it was fierce enough.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Moreover, you can also order from our various outlets at Amara Hotel Singapore, and that means you can have eclectic offerings from East to West to Local by ordering from Silkroad, Element, and Cafe Oriental all at the same time.
๐Ÿ”ธ
One more point - they've the lowest delivery fee of $5, which is waived for a low total order of $50++. Also remember the discount code - TAKEAWAY20 and DELIVERY10.

That's incredible value, given also the quality and the variety offered in each bento set.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Pictured is a Tom Yum Fried Rice ($13) set that came with spring rolls and chicken wings, as well some vegetables with tangy-spicy Nam Prik Kapi dip and mango sticky rice.
๐Ÿ”ธ
The other bento is the aromatic Basil Chicken Krapao Set ($13) which comes with their signature Blue Jasmine rice, fried prawn spring roll, vegetables withNam Prik Kapi dip, and Mango Sticky Rice.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Other regular favourites include Pad Thai Set and Lemongrass Fish Set. Vegan options such as Omn! Basil Kaprao Set and Heura Red Curry Set (swipe to menu on last photo to see what's included) are also available.
๐Ÿ”ธ
These bento boxes are available for both takeaway and delivery (direct or via Foodpanda).

This beautiful restaurant serving artful European food at Gardens by the Bay has just welcomed Chef Michael to helm the kitchen. I would have been dining in, but Circuit Breaker happened so I had their food for delivery instead.
๐Ÿ”ธ
It's very good. Instead of a fine dining Chefโ€™s Menu at $148++ for dine in, they delivered me several classical English beloved comfort food. I had the Beef Wellington, where an Australian beef tenderloin with pink medium rare centre was encased in a buttery flaky pastry; a limited-quantity duck neck sausage casserole with dry-aged duck breast and fillings with the aroma of foie gras (more about this dish in another dedicated post); and a classic lasagne with smooth layers of pasta and satisfying ragu. They serve whole cakes as well, to complete the cozy and slow Saturday afternoon.
๐Ÿ”ธ
If Chef Michael can make these classics taste so good, I can only imagine where his creativity would take us on a gastronomic journey. Guess we need to wait till the end of Circuit Breaker to find out.

If you've been following my stories, you would see that I eat at Chatterbox on a monthly basis. They never cease to amaze me, it's the only restaurant that impressed me for most hawker dishes on the menu - they can dish out classic hawker food at standards that are better than most hawker stalls, if not amongst the best.
๐Ÿ”ธ
With Circuit Breaker in place till 1 June, this is the one stop solution to getting several different hawker food, done very well, by delivery or by drive-through (my preferred medium of pickup, as opposed to queueing at the stalls).
๐Ÿ”ธ
Pictured are: the famous Mandarin Chicken Rice ($13.50), Hokkien Mee ($14), Herbal Bak Kut Teh ($13.50), Salted Egg Chicken Wings ($10), and Rojak ($8.50). Swipe for their close ups.
๐Ÿ”ธ
I'll post individual reviews of some of these dishes, many are really good so I would like to dedicate more space for their feature.

Lolla is one of the best restaurants along the once-buzzy (before CB) Ann Siang Road. Remember the Lolla cheesecake that I raved about? Yup, besides that cheesecake, they also serve takeaway sets for a minimum of two persons.
๐Ÿ”ธ
For $55+/pax, it includes:
1. Octopus Stew with Olives and Bacon
2. Beef Tongue Tonnato
3. Busiate Pasta with Crab
4. Potato and Speck Terrine
5. Apple Tatin
(set for two pictured)
๐Ÿ”ธ
These are fuss-free soul food that are unpretentious and yummy. What surprised me the most was the crab pasta, it's not just some crabs tossed with pasta, but each strand of that busiate pasta was well-coated with the crab sauce.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Good recommendation, @riardsg, and thanks for this treat.
๐Ÿ”ธ
๐Ÿ“ธ: @lollasg (but I took the liberty to make some edits to suit my feed)

I've missed dining at The Dempsey Cookhouse and Bar helmed by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who has been serving European fare using locally-sourced and in-season ingredients. Now, although we can't dine at the elegant, refined, yet relaxed restaurant, they'll bring the food to you. They are now doing takeaway and islandwide home delivery, 7 days a week.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Pictured are:
* Crackling Chicken ($26+, second photo). Juicy organic chicken encased in a crispy batter, that remained crispy even after delivery.
* Black Truffle Pizza ($32+, third photo). Filled with mushrooms with a touch of truffle oil, with creaminess of cheeses.
* Brown Butter Carrot Cake ($10+, 4th photo). Soft and light carrot cake that's not too sweet, with buttery aroma.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Delivery fee applies, but is waived for orders above $150. #AtHomeWithCOMO

This stylish restaurant at JW Marriott has been offering modern and creative reinvention of Japanese cuisine, and now they're offering dishes for takeaways.
๐Ÿ”ธ
The five dishes pictured are:
.
* Signature Mushroom Pizza ($20). This is Akira Backโ€™s worldwide bestselling dish
.
* Ji-dori Chicken ($28). Juicy chicken breast, perfected through 8-hour cooking where the chicken was brined, sous vide and browned. Served on a bed of soft truffled potato mash
.
* Brother from another Mother ($25, or $45 for any 2 signature rolls). My second favourite dish here. It comprises of Unagi Kabayaki and Anago Tempura topped with shaved Foie Gras tourchon. To enhance it, dip this into the accompanied ponzu mayo.
.
* Green Monster ($23, or $45 for any 2 signature roll). A roll with the timeless combination of cream cheese and avocado.
.
* Baked Crab Hand Roll ($16). My favourite rolls here. It's wrapped with king crab and crispy onions, then given a spicy kick with a dynamite metai sauce.

As promised, this is a photo of what was delivered as part of the Sukiyaki. To make it as close as dining in the restaurant, every condiments of Sukiyaki were delivered.
๐Ÿ”ธ
And in many ways, it was better than dining in at the restaurant. Because it's at the comfort of home, we set up the sukiyaki together just like what we do during CNY reunion steamboat, we could adjust the saltiness exactly to what we prefer, and we get to keep the remaining stock for a second round of sukiyaki next time.
๐Ÿ”ธ
My IG story is still live on my page, till around 6pm today.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Delivery is $8 with minimum order of $60, and free with orders above $150. Thanks again @thetravellingcow for the dinner ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

It felt like CNY reunion all over again, as the Gyu Bar recreated the whole Sukiyaki experience at home. It's as close as it gets to dining in, as they delivered every little condiments that were supposed to come with the Sukiyaki, including the little things such as beef fats and garlic chips. If you opt for pork, it's only $88 for two pax (UP $136 for two pax).
๐Ÿ”ธ
It's more than just the the premium Japanese wagyu that came with it (see my IG story for my wagyu). It's also about the family bonding over piping hot sukiyaki, much needed during Circuit Breaker. Felt happy that my mum enjoyed it, as she was amazed by the quality of the wagyu, saying that it's tender, sweet, and fragrant.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Delivery is $8 with minimum order of $60, and free with orders above $150.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Refer to my IG story for my Sukiyaki at Home tonight. Photo taken during dine in, I'll post a photo of the delivery set too! Thanks @thetravellingcow for the treat!

Last weekend, Chef Jason cooked up some mean curry with his mom, based on his mum's home recipe. It was for charity, and Chef Jason eventually donated 70% of the sales to Fei Yue Community Service.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Limited portions were available, and I was one of the lucky few who managed to order in time. The curry were very thick and fragrant, and not spicy so even my elderly mum enjoyed it. That's the result of 5 to 6 hours of non-stop stirring of the rempah.
๐Ÿ”ธ
There's is one final release of this curry, with fewer portions so as to reduce impact of Chef Jason's neighbors. Stay tuned to @chefjasontan_sg's IG for details.

I've always liked the local food offered at Sum Yi Tai, and it's speakeasy bar Mona Lounge on the second floor. And this Ipoh-style curry mee was one of their best.
๐Ÿ”ธ
This Lucky Mee brings close one of Ipohโ€™s time-honoured staples to Singapore, right to our homes with their islandwide delivery during the times when we most needed some comfort during the pandemic situation.
๐Ÿ”ธ
It's different from the local milky curry. It is of a light consistency, but still rich in flavour. According to Sharon @foodmanna, that gravy was made from chicken broth and a secret blend of spices. Each bowl is served with crispy roast pork belly, pork skin, cockles, and sprigs of mint leaves. Savoury, spicy and shiok.
