Bought a 40 dollar Matchaya gift voucher for my friend's birthday because we can never get enough of this place. Seriously, this place sells the best Matcha/Houjicha soft serve in the entire of Singapore! You have to try it! After eating this, I simply can't be satisfied with any other soft serve because I will demand to have my Matchaya! And plus points for the friendly service of their chatty staff whom never fail to brighten my day with their smiles and eagerness to tell me about their work. They truly care for their business and take pride in churning out creamy yet delicate soft serves that do the flavours justice. I just want to eat all their mystery flavours all day everyday!
If you see anyone stealing the truffle fries, it was not my brother being a hand model for me. It was him being greedy and deciding to steal food before I could even take a picture. (To be honest, I took some too hehe.) The pungent whiff of truffle was too alluring to resist. Eggs Benedict managed to flow when cut through, but has a bit too steep of a price I'm willing to pay for. Waffles were average, but the apricot ice cream was certainly an interesting flavour compared to your regular Matcha/Red Velvet/Caramel waffles. Needless to say, my favourite was the truffle fries!
For just 90 cents you could get a fluffy egg cupcake. This is not your regular kind of moist, dense and buttery cupcakes that we're so used to buying for 3 or more dollars. Instead, take a bite into completely old school flavours and take a trip down memory lane with these old school cupcakes.
Just creamy, delicious that is so(ya) good for you! Loved the subtle addition of Matcha (though not prominent) into their Soya ice-cream. On a hot day, why not for just $2!
If anyone was to win prettiest Yogurt of the year award, this Sakura Yogurt Parfait might truly win. (so much prettier than my self creations at sogurt, though it might face stiffer competition with llao llao) This was served together with soufflé cheesecake, panna cotta, dango, Sakura biscuits and Sakura syrup, atop a bed of crushed whites chocolate cereal. Sadly, the flavour of the Sakura was very much overshadowed by the raspberries and strawberries present. Though each component itself was executed well, the dish didn't manage to gel together and pair with each other all that well. More style over substance perhaps?
Wouldn't say this is the 'best muffin' in Singapore, but very reasonable for its price as it remained so moist, yet remained structured instead of crumbling apart as I carried them home. They also aren't very sweet, so I wouldn't feel a sugar rush even if I downed all four in one shot.
You can never go wrong with ordering anything on their menu here, because you ultimately come to enjoy their rice drowned in their 4 different sauces. I have to say, I absolutely loved their fried eggs and braised cabbage! Truly, a beautiful mess indeed.
This place was so raved about, I had to make a trip down just to eat here! Expect a no-frills, cheap and hearty lunch here, with no fancy chairs or tables, and poor air ventilation. Just good comfort rice drowned in flavourful curry, black sauce and a heap load of chilli. While you enjoy each mouthful, expect to hear the busy snipping of scissors as they continuously dish out each new plate of rice and its ingredients. We ordered cabbage, bean sprouts, chicken cutlet, fried eggs, fish cake and braised pork, and everything was well cooked and flavourful. Just pick anything and it will taste so darn good with the heaps of sauce.
Although it doesn't show much, this mochi was grilled on a waffle maker, making it slightly crispy on the outside before getting delightfully chewy on the inside. I like how this wasn't sweetened to death, which let the bitter matcha powder to light through, and the sweetened red bean did just enough to add an edge. I was hoping for actual matcha Mochi, but it's just the Flavours they add as toppings.
Seriously in love with this kaya toast, jam packed with homemade fragrant kaya, with slabs of butter melting directly into the warm ciabatta which ended up soaking directly into the slices of bread. As someone who absolutely loves anything citrus, the fragrant orange peel helped to bring this kaya toast to an entirely new level! On the side note, I came on a weekday morning, and the service was really amazing with this Uncle helping to serve cups of Kopi and clear plates, whilst having the widest smile on his face. Such a pleasant start to the morning!
Not the cheapest dessert around, but seriously worth your money for the size of this vanilla cream puff. Absolutely delicious, with a cookie-like crispy crust that crumbles lightly, and an addictive vanilla bean cream that is thick, yet not cloying. You can get this in a small or a larger size, and I recommend you to get the BIGGEST size possible. So incredibly delish 😍
This blew my mind. So incredibly soft, fluffy and fragrantly balanced of eggy and Pandan, I fell in love with this! Not just that, this was incredibly cheap at 1.20 per slice! #cheapandgood
