On mains, their tender Oven-roasted Rosemary Chicken ($29) is a winner, as is the homemade Conchiglie Bolognese ($29) with a slow-cooked beef ragù. It’s always a challenge to find a good handmade pasta. I’m glad Eleven Strands does this well, where pasta is cooked al dente and retains its bite with a slight chew.

Prawns were fresh and their pesto sauce was not too cloying, leaving it a good balance of pasta and sauce ratio. Noted some may find it a tad too oily (well, it’s pesto eh?)

Do make reservations in advance to avoid a wait during peak hours!

Resting on a bed of smooth and creamy orange carrot puree. The sweetness is balanced off by teeny tiny mustard seeds. These seeds playfully teases the palate with its sharp tangy tones. A brilliant pairing of protein and condiments.

Had Braised Wagyu Beef in Tomato based and Beef Bone soup. Noodles was soft with a nice texture, but the wagyu beef was disappointing. Small place.

Can go back...for the noodles but not the beef.

For this menu from Godmama Peranakan Restaurant, the Alchemy Fibre Powder Blend has been added into the jasmine rice infused with blue pea flower, and not only does it not alter the taste and texture, it makes the rice healthier through a slower digestion rate in your body upon consumption. In addition to a resulting slower digestion rate, the Alchemy Fibre is also high in prebiotic fibres to improve gut and heart health to boost overall general immunity.

Pictured is the Set Menu for 2 ($48) which comes with two portions of the jasmine rice, that contains Alchemy Fibre, and to go with it, there are Ayam Buah Kelak (a chicken stew with fermented black nuts), Nyonya Chap Chye (medley of vegetables that is stewed in rich prawn stock) with an appetiser of Emping Belinjo Crackers and rounding off with an excellent Pulut Hitam Panna Cotta that we just could not get enough of. On a side note, do also get their White Brew ($6) coffee, roasted with a blend of Brazilian and Ethiopian coffee beans that has a balanced and nutty flavour note, perfect for a thirst quencher during the day.
