Gambas & Guacamole Sautéed tiger prawns, eggs, guacamole, mesclun salad, vine cherry tomatoes & sourdough. Since I had my eggs done sunny side up previously, I decided to go with scrambled eggs for this to try the difference with nuyolk eggs. The eggs did turn out more orangey than usual but I preferred the yolk on my sunny side up where I get to taste the creaminess of it. The prawns were grilled until fragrant but a little overcooked as the shells were sticking to the flesh. I love the guacamole for its creamy texture, mildly sweet and nutty flavour. Smoked Salmon A nice cosy place to dine and chill over well-ventilated and sheltered outdoor seating. They serve a limited brunch menu till 3pm on weekends and PH. The smoked salmon came with two eggs done in my choice of sunny side up, dill mayonnaise, mesclun salad, vine cherry tomatoes & sourdough. They use nuyolk eggs which have multi benefits and a distinct orange yolk. I also like the use of tomatoes on vines instead of the usual cherry tomatoes. Just simple and no-frills brunch with premium ingredients used. Perfect for my late bunch where the portion is not too heavy and filling. This is even better with the Beyond deal. Spanish Seafood Risotto @$29 Both of us are such suckers for Risotto, especially for Seafood risotto. So what attracted us to try out black cherry, was that there's a 1for1 risotto here. The seafood was fresh and the Risotto, tasted like it had a spa day soaking in prawn broth. It was Tasty good. Black Cherry is located at Bijou, a mixed development residential Condominium located within walking distance from Pasir Panjang MRT.

Come for their pastas! [TELOK AYER, SINGAPORE] @santis.sg serves up Italian fare with interesting twists in a casual yet intimate setting that is great for group catch ups and date nights. Interestingly, we came for pizzas but stayed for their pastas as the latter were much better. We ordered the Pesto Cream Stracciatella Pasta 🌿 ($22) as I'm a sucker for pesto 🤣 and it delivered WELL. You get a strong punch of the basil aromatics, followed by a nice savoury flavour that it's too overpowering. The cheese makes it rich yet somehow light at the same time, and I totally can finish this by myself. Pastas are made fresh weekly, and you can tell by the nice al dente mouth feel. The Vodka Sugo & Italian Sausage Pasta 🌭 ($24) was another delight to have. The light touch of vodka balanced the cream used, making this a much lighter pasta to have. Minced sausages added a meaty and smoky touch that puts the flavour savoury forward. Absolutely lovely. The pizzas we ordered unfortunately did not deliver the punch we wanted it to 🥲 indeed the sourdough crust was chewy and smoky, but the ingredients on top doesn't seem to match well. The Pepperoni & Hot Honey 🍕 ($30) was way too sweet, Butter Chicken 🍗 ($28) and Not so Classic Margherita 🍅 ($24) was not flavourful enough somehow. We managed to add flavour through the homemade chilli garlic oil provided though! With 20% discounted cash vouchers on Chope, I think it is worth it to come back for their pastas! I've heard that their sides are good as well, so will try more of that next time 😃

Pepperoni pizza Loved the pizza here, tried a more conventional pepperoni pizza. Also ordered a pumpkin risotto which was ok With 30% off we paid $48.20 for one pizza and one pasta and was very filling.

1-for-1 pizza Overall: 4/5 ⭐️ Food: 4/5 ⭐️ Price (with discount): 5/5 ⭐️ Ambience: 3/5 ⭐️ Service: 5/5 ⭐️ Overall bready yet soft sourdough crusts, with their specialty crispy chili oil to pair with on the side if you prefer (not the best though). The downside is that we were there during happy hour but we weren’t allowed to use both burpple and happy hour discounts. We sat inside which was a bit humid on the evening that we went. Staff were very nice despite it being a busier night. Paid $28 (including GST and service charge) for 2 pizzas, so it was very worth with the burpple discount! Not so classic marg ($24) Loved the buffalo mozzarella! Almighty cheese ($24) There was goat cheese as part of it and with nice crispy bits on the top to add more texture. Drizzled with hot honey (I think it’s meant to be hot as in spicy but it wasn’t that spicy). I personally love the savoury and sweet combo.

Burpple 1-for-1 Main Course We had our dinner there on a weekend and it wasn't too crowded. Beer was good; I was surprised to learn that they brew their own beer since the place didn't look much like a bar! Asked the staff for a recommendation and tried a light, malty beer. Side of spam fries was great as well, but the mains we ordered could be better. Both rice bowls had very hard, dehydrated rice, as if it has been kept and reheated for a few days. Girl: The Spicy Mentaiko Salmon bowl came with pickled vegetables and edamame which was a nice touch, but Mentaiko was a bit too sour and light for my liking, missing the creamy, full-bodied flavor of Mentaiko. Boy: Chix and Cheez felt overbaked, as the layer of cheese was quite hard when served. I think it's a nice place to grab some beers with friends, but the food has room for improvement.

Wash it down with a pint of fresh ice cold beer at Crimson after a long day! Did someone say Shiok?

Ember 2/2 - Burgers We also tried two burgers. The 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 ($16.90) fared better as the slab of chicken thigh was succulent. The 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 ($17.90) was good, but not great, although the caramelised onions did make it more enjoyable. The shoestring fries that came with the burgers were addictively crispy. Ember 1/2 - Striploin Ember Charcoal Grill specialises in grilled meats using binchotan charcoal. There were also a few Burpple deals available, such as 1-for-1 House Brew and 1-for-1 Croffle. But since we ordered three main courses, the 30% Off Total Bill deal was the most value-for-money. The 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀-𝗳𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗻 ($25.90) was the star attraction on the menu. It came with a choice of two sides and a sauce. Even though the steak looked the part, with a beautiful pink centre, it was slightly overcooked and was tougher than expected. However the sides were sublime, while the Miso Kombu Butter added a depth of flavours. The Grilled Broccoli, with its crispy edges, was particularly praiseworthy. Ember Classic Waffle This was a surprise to me as I didn’t order it. But they found out this month was my birthday from my reservation on Chope. A complimentary home-made basic waffle in half, served with summer fruits and maple syrup. I definitely love the soft texture of the waffle, paired with the sweetness from the fruits and syrup.

Mono izakaya Lil's taproom popup 26-27 April 2024 Espresso ribs 24+svc for 180g Tender, with a proper espresso glaze. It's slightly bitter, quite sweet, and full of wicked espresso aroma.

Bulgogi duck rice 22++ PSA it really is exactly where they say it is. On top of Prata restaurant is a corner shop, and this is directly beside it. The exterior is like any other shop so look carefully. Unit number 02-208? I think Absolutely delicious as well. Not very bulgogi tbh but doesn't rlly matter. It's got a slightly crisp, skin that was a bit hard as well, but not unpleasantly. The meat was tender and thickly sliced, and most importantly it's super flavourful from aging. Absolutely awe-inspiring stuff and a must try

Big slab bossam don 18++(used BB) PSA During lunch there's only lunch bowls, no ala cart This was delicious. Kimchi was solid, but the pork belly. Wow. It's tender with just a little bite, super fatty but not greasy. Chef chose to slow roast it so it's not just super soft, and the espresso miso glaze, despite the fancy name, made for a simple and effective sweet savoury glaze. Chef has been trained in both Jap and French cuisine, as well as stints at Michelin establishments. A lot of young chefs come out from Michelin places to set up their own restaurants lately but I feel like many don't live up to the hype. But this chef, from his food it's clear he knows what he's doing. Really excited for this place, except the location is too hidden lol

Ohayo Mama San 3.5⭐ Walked passed Ohayo Mama San several times and didnt know that they served high tea until I read it on Burpple. There are only 6 items served though and a choice of tea to be share among 2 pax. We chose milk oolong tea and also requested to change the wagyu slider to avocado slider. Afternoon Tea Set ($26++) The original price was $15/pax so the burpple beyond deal was not worth it. We changed the wagyu slider to avo slider. The slider had a truffle smell, pretty good. The strawberry mochi has ice cream inside so eat asap. The choco tart was crispy and had a nice caramelised smell. Best was the crabstick tacos.

High tea set Tried the high tea set and it was good!! I went there after my brunch and the portion was just nice for me. If I would to choose the Kani tacos will be the highlight for the set.

Pain Au Chocolat Erm overnight and it seemed normal.

Chicken Katsu Burger Interesting use of mushroom sauce. The egg also elevated the burger. Overall enjoyable!

This Iced Chocolate is rubbish. Ordered the iced chocolate with a Dirty using the Burpple 1-1. This beverage is vile. A joke. Does not taste like chocolate at all. It tastes like bad milk was used. Most disgusting ever.

Lychee Oolong Cold Brew It has steeped for 14 hours for a round-bodied cup with sweet lychee notes and hints of jasmine. $7.50

Unique French Pastry Creations The Lunar ($6.80) intrigued me the most as it is shaped like a crescent (visually representating the brand) and had a surprise hidden beneath waiting to be unveiled. Biting into it, it felt l was eating a Kinder Bueno as a creamy filling of mascarpone mousse with valrhona ganache oozed out beneath a blanket of crispy and buttery pastry layer. It was a happy sweet treat that was satisfying but not heavy nor overly cloying.

1 for 1 bakes! Here is what we tried: -Kouign Amann ($5): This was crafted in a different swirl shape that we are more used to! Instead, this was circular denser shape kouign amann. First impression, it was quite hardddd (because of the thick layer of caramelized sugar) and sticky to cut! -Almond Croissant ($5.50): This was better than the kouign amann (when usually I prefer kouign amann to almond croissant). The croissant had a crispy flaky outer layer with thick portions of almond in the interior. The staff did not offer the option to reheat our bakes, so the pastries were served to us at room temperature. Bunny Madeleine 🍯Bunny Madeleine ($5) This adorable madeleine is made with more care compared to regular madeleines, as they bunnies have to be removed from the moulds carefully so as to not break their ears or tails. I could instantly taste the sweetness of the honey that was added, and I loved how buttery and aromatic the entire madeleine was.
