couldn’t resist walking in and getting a kouigh amann after dinner; tbb’s kouigh amann truly never disappoints! it is a deceptively simple pastry — probably just mainly sugar, flour and butter — but it is really delicious. the exterior is crisp and caramelised and the interior is chewy, with the many layers adding a lovely texture. it is quite big but very addictive and tasty. a must-try :-)

sauce was thick and creamy, with a hint of nuttiness. the linguine was cooked perfectly al dente and each strand was generously coated with pesto. this was creamy without being too heavy/jelak so i think they nailed it 👍🏻

had the pesto linguine, lamb ragout gargenelli & truffle schiacciata (L). pasta was fresh and tasty in both dishes.

truffle schiacchiata was pretty pricey ($18++) but oh so good! 😋 the truffle sauce was thick, creamy and had a strong mushroom-y flavour but i would say the star was really the bread. it was crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, baked to the perfect texture. was a good vessel for the truffle sauce. also, this dish came piping hot, which made it extra yummy 😍

super yummy sandwich :-) beef pastrami was tender and oozing with juice! the thinly shaving of the pastrami added a really nice texture and made the sandwich light and tasty, rather than heavy and greasy (like what you would get in a cheeseburger). the swiss cheese complemented the beef fantastically, and the sandwich was toasted to golden brown perfection. also comes with coleslaw and pickles, which helped cut the grease of the sandwich!

only gripe would be that this is really pricey!! but so yummy 😝 and perhaps they could have served a more generous portion of pickles?

shop space is a little small but really nicely decorated with vintage vibes and artsy decor

the drink was slightly milky and this was balanced out by the fragrant alisan tea. yuancha really nails the perfect ratio of milk to tea imo, unlike other joints which often taste too milky or diluted. if you’re a fan of tea, you’d definitely like their drinks.

although yuancha doesn’t offer your conventional pearls, i really love the rainbow QQ they have. these are small, soft and super chewy, really enjoyable :-) plus yuancha always offers a generous amount jn your drink!

yuancha has been my favourite bubble tea place for the past few years and its quality is still top-notch at relatively affordable prices :) one thing though—it seems they’ve decreased the size of their L cup which is sad :-(

got this at 0% sugar & less ice, which is my go-to!

this was a deep fried tortilla stuffed with beef and cheese and topped with sour cream, salsa and guacamole, atop a bed of shredded lettuce—so you get many different flavours in one bite! :)

grounded beef was savoury and tender. the deep fried tortilla was crispy and not too oily, and added texture to the dish. overall, this dish is classic mexican flavours done well, though nothing mind blowing.

a tad pricey but 30% eatigo discount made it pretty worth :-)

really yummy and crisp nachos which did not get soggy. these were laden with a generous amount of cheese, tomatoes and jalapeños so that you get a bit of everything in one bite :-)

salsa was tangy and thick. guacamole was also creamy and smooth, with a hint of lime. sour cream was thick and rich. all 3 dips were fantastic.

this was the 1 person portion + extra pork + extra intestines. the intestines were cleaned thoroughly and were soft and chewy—good! 😝 didn’t expect too much from the pork belly but it was surprisingly tender and the fat melts in your mouth. one thing to note though, is that the sauce is a lot lighter than usual so if you’re a fan of heavier flavours this may not be your thing.

went on a weekday at 1pm but there was still a substantial queue of about 12 people? and yes the queue moves reallyyy slowly so be prepared to wait for about half an hour 😖

this drink was quite milky, with quite a distinct fruity peach flavour. reminded me of yakult actually haha so if you’re a fan of yakult, you’ll like this! the oolong tea was also discernible (more as an aftertaste) which was good.

got this at 0% sugar but it was adequately sweet so stick to 0% :-) golden pearls were chewy and pretty standard. overall, an average drink, good if you enjoy milky & fruity flavours :)

first time at this vegan joint! the steamed mushroom patty had a substantial bite and was, quite surprisingly, almost meat-like in texture. the mushroom flavour was quite mellow, not too distinct or overpowering.

lettuce was fresh and truffle mayo was creamy, though lacking strong notes of truffle. bread was soft and fluffy. all in all, i think this is a burger that would be well-accepted by many :-)

the garlic truffle chirashi don comprised cubed raw seafood atop a bed of fluffy japanese pearl rice. this was topped with a liberal amount of truffle sauce and garnished with garlick chips. i appreciated the variety of seafood (with salmon, octopus, tuna etc.) and the rather generous portion given. ingredients were of decent quality, though definitely not the best/freshest around. (ps. i asked them to leave out the roe!)

truffle sauce was slightly disappointing in that it lacked a prominent truffle flavour and was more creamy and mayo-like instead. i did enjoy the garlic chips though, which added texture and a fragrant flavour to the dish. if you are a purist, you may not be a fan haha; this is really fusion rather than traditional japanese food.

got to give a shout out to the beautiful decor and interior at omote! love the traditional japanese patterns mixed with modern notes of gold and marble—really pretty :-)
