Been a recurring customer of Le Cafe since I bought my first box of Bean Curd Tarts (8 for $10) about 2 years ago, and what I absolutely love about them (other than the tarts of course) is the consistency in their products. Bean curd is smooth and light, w subtle soya flavor (like classic tau huey) goes well w the buttery, fragrant tart base that crumbles and melts in your mouth w each bite. STEP ASIDE YOU LAVA CHEESE/SALTED EGG TARTS!!! Old is gold. Highly recommend this for gatherings/occasional treat for friends or family! P/s: do call in before making a trip down to make sure the tarts are still available!
Came at 12:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and had to queue for 25minutes. Ordered the fried fish bee Hoon soup ($5.80+ 7%). The soup with slight cooking alcohol (花雕酒)taste is so shiok that I finished every drop of it! With big chunks of fresh fried fish, silky smooth bee Hoon and lots of vege, it's superb! Worth the queue~ yums! Xoxo, wet tissue not have
Look at those fried eggs! That's what we are here for. Me and my wife are huge fan of fish soups, but this stall has somehow missed our radar.
🔸
We like that they uses spinach, fresh fish, and silver fish in its soup. The soup is naturally tasty, but we felt that it lacked deeper integration of the ingredients in the soup. There are three other fish soups that we like more than this stall here: Yi Jia at Maxwell for their clean and down to earth soup using flat fish with super fresh fish, Jin Hua at Maxwell and Xin Yuan Ji at Tan Quee Lan for their really tasty and flavourful soup.
🔸
But if we have a craving for these fried eggs, this is where we'll come to. Our three favourite fish soup doesn't serve fried eggs, and the soup here may not be the best but it's good enough.
Helmed by Les Amis Restaurant's pastry chef and Asia's Best Pastry Chef 2016 Cheryl Koh, Tarte is a crowd favourite pastry shop in town. You'll find no fancy, over-the-top decorations here, just "the best version of the simplest desserts". There are two tart sizes available, with seasonal flavours appearing occasionally. If you know the particular flavour the birthday girl or boy wants, call ahead to pre-order a large tart ($38 for 16cm). If not, order a good array of the smaller tarts ($9 for 8cm) to share. Go for the best-selling Pistachio ($9) — velvety smooth, creamy filling full of nutty goodness encased in a thin but sturdy buttery tart shell, with a garnish of crushed pistachios. Also look out for the seasonal tarts like the Tasmanian Cherry, Alphonso Mango and the luscious Passionfruit. If you're planning to swing by for a particular flavour, though, it's worth calling ahead, as they run out pretty quickly.
*38cm tarts have to be ordered two days in advance

One of the signatures is the Miso Cod, which comes with a portion of the moist and tender codfish that has been marinated with Japanese miso and seared till golden brown upon order. For just $15.90, this is definitely a steal as you will not only get a premium cut of oily fish, there's also a bed of risotto that comes with it.
Looked and smelt better than it taste. The crust was decent, but the macaroni inside was hard and tasteless, and the cheese too processed tasting. Could barely finish it. Sorely disappointed after seeing the rave reviews about this from other Burpplers.
One of my favourites, especially because you can add your own lard - as much as you want!
This my friends, in my most humble opinion, the best char kway teow in Singapore. With the right amount of sweetness and savoriness, this place deserves a Michelin Star, if there's ever one created for hawkers/street food. Priced at $3.50 or $4.00, each plate is fried individually upon each order as the masterchef dances around the wok, fries the egg and mixes the Chinese sausage, cockles, pork lard, dark soya sauce and chilli into the noodles. The wok hei is just incredible. Absolutely stunning.

Despite all the raves, I've never had 老伴豆花 until now! It's smooth, fragrant and very refreshing. No wonder colleagues were all saving stomach space for this! 😋 Sweet ending to an indulgent, get-fat lunch.
Good but I prefer the you Mian minced meat version. See my other review!
#03 meat ball and minced meat you mian. $5 Prefer this over the famous kin kin pan mee as I'm not a fan of ban mian. I tried the original and wasn't too impressed but this blew my mind. Meat balls and minced meat together with the Ikan billis, fried shallots and chili (with added vinegar and chilli) on wanton mee like noodles. Perfection.
Kept hearing that it's really vinegar-y, but it was actually quite okay! Really enjoyed it, worth the 1 hour queue. Went at 12pm, queue looked shorter at 1:30pm when we left. $5 was a bit too little, get the $6 onwards unless you're not very hungry.
