A traditional kueh shop located at East Village, @kueh_ho_jiak is run by Ms. Elizabeth. Her family recipes have been handed down for three generations. From speaking with her, I could tell how much care she and her team put into their handcrafted kuehs. They also constantly try to innovate and create new flavours to their selection, such as the strawberry and pandan puteri ayu.🥰

Even though their profit margin isn’t high, Kueh Ho Jiak is committed to use the best ingredients without artificial colorings. After seeing them put so much care into their craft, I sincerely hope that they’d succeed in the competitive F&B industry. Here are some of the kuehs that we tried:

@boufesg just opened a new outlet at Income at Raffles, so you can get your fix of delicious cakes and mains!😋 •
They serve cute looking cakes (and tasty too!) such as the Classic Cheesecake and Bunny Tart. I loved the cheese design as it reminded me of the cartoon cheese from the old Tom & Jerry animations! More food review to follow.

I had their Original BBQ Chicken Pizza ($23.90), which is topped with their signature BBQ sauce. •
I also liked their Veggie Pizza with Cauliflower Crust ($26.50), which was interesting because it was low carb and had a gluten free cauliflower crust! Never say that healthier pizza doesn’t exist! Another must try is Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower ($13.90), which wasn’t spicy to me, but still flavourful!😋

I was recently introduced to @paradise_gastronomy, a cozy Taiwanese shop located in Yishun Golden Village. I really liked their food, especially the Braised Pork Beehoon and Salted Egg Chicken. They were very generous too with the salted egg!😋👍 Price wise, it’s very affordable too.

The owner’s family mentioned that they pretty often fly to Taiwan to learn how to improve their recipes and make them more authentic. You can tell how much passion they put into their food. I’ll be back when I’m in Yishun area!

Good news for those who like it, as Yun Nans is now open at @jewelchangiairport! This restaurant has over 150 outlets in China and they specialize in highland cuisine (Gao Yuan Liao Li).😋

I really liked this cuisine, as it’s not the typical Chinese food. Taste wise, you can tell that there’s Thai influences. One of the crowd favorites was the Truffle Rice Noodles in Prawn Broth ($13.90), which is a Singapore exclusive dish. @yunnans’s Tossed Rice Noodles with Shredded Chicken is pretty unique too!

Their drink presentation stood out. White Sands was served in a shell, mixed with dry ice to create that dramatic smokey effect. Ice Man was inspired by traditional icy dessert.💯

On top of their creative cocktails, their food was so good! The oysters were fresh, the mushroom risotto was very flavourful, and the skewers were nicely grilled. I’ll be back for the food!

The popular Osakan-style kushikatsu restaurant is currently having a Mega Cheese Festival!😋🧀🧀 Do yourself a favour and get the Chiritori Cheese Nabe, my favorite dish among all! You can choose between marinated chicken/beef/pork, and stir them together with melted cheese sauce. Very rich and flavourful!🤩

Btw I found this resto very interactive. You can cook your own cheesy nabe, DIY your takoyaki, and even mash potato salad! They also have fun drinking games. The atmosphere there was boisterous, definitely a fun place to visit with friends.💯

I liked Ah Hoe Noodle House’s Signature Meepok with Crayfish, their meepok was springy with a good texture.😋

Besides noodles, I also had their side dishes. My favorite was the prawn balls and fish dumplings!👍 they also offer fish maw, deep fried pig trotters, and deep fried tofu. A good place to have a comforting lunch with family and friends!

What’s your plan for the coming long weekend?😁 •
Urbana is a rooftop bar on the 33rd floor of Courtyard by Mariott Singapore Novena. On weekends (11am to 4pm), they serve brunch with a beautiful view. The ala carte brunch is reasonably priced, between $16++ to $22++. It’s nice to chill beside the swimming pool while having drinks with friends.😎🍹🍷 more review about the food soon!
