Really eggggcited that this Tteokbokki chain is now here in Singapore! Newly opened at E!Avenue near E!Hub Downtown East, they have an opening promotion - 4pax for the price of 3pax! For $13.90 per pax, you can have a choice between Cheese, Mussels, Bulgogi or Mushrooms Tteokbokki that contains the main ingredient chosen, ham and veggies. You can do add-ons like dumplings, egg, noodles, etc.. Slightly soupy as compared to the one I've had in Korea, but can't complain!
Do a fried-rice add-on afterwards at $5, or opt for the fried rice with cheese at $7. They will empty out the excess soup/sauce and use the necessary amount for the fried rice. And trust me, it's really guuuud :p (though a little soupy, give them some time to brush up on their skills)
slightly salty, but i'm not complaining for this flavourful plate of carrot cake! the kueh itself is really soft. has a slight burnt taste to it, perhaps from trying to make the dish slightly crispy with the egg's whites.
Affordable and yummy lunch option at NUS! The fish is soft on the inside, really good. Swap the pasta for their homemade olive rice, top it with an egg - a definite food-coma afternoon that's totally worth it :)
The waffles here - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside - totally my cup of tea ;D Interesting flavours of icecream that's really milky and not too sweet - Thai Milk Tea and Pistachio! Heard that it's abit pricier here than at Toa Payoh but not too sure. Will definitely visit again! ;p
Ipoh Horfun style topped with crispy chicken cutlet - A must-eat everytime we visit this place! Especially since it's so out of the way, definitely grabbing it each time we visit ;p Like it that the sauce isn't too thick :)
Woke up craving for Fried Carrot Cake and I ended up having 2 plates. Fried Carrot Cake Wars: 富明 (left) vs 日夜香 (right). While bloggers rave abt 富明, the one with the queue is 日夜香. Both do their own Kueh, but I personally like 日夜香's version more. Mainly becuz I like my black version sweeter and 富明's is strangely quite salty. Plus 日夜香 wasn't stingy on their egg and chai poh. #friedcarrotcake #rehillhawkerctre #BrunchEats #Hawkerfood #friedcarrotcakewar #burpple
My best breakfast bet early in the morning when all the lazy cafes are not yet open! At affordable prices between 10 to 14, you get a filling breakfast and a coffee/tea. At $12.90, you get this dish with salmon and salad side (with cranberries and almond!) Topped up 2bucks for café latté 😋 A pity that the yolk was too cooked~
Own made salted egg yolk sauce lavishly spread across whole fried chicken thigh. Each bite is an assault of the creamy rich sauce. A simple side of sesame slaw to complete the dish.

Ordered this over Deliveroo and it was AMAZING! The salmon was so well done and tender, and the poached eggs bursted with just a prick! 😋 The packaging is commendable as well :)
Making up for lost time because @timchee fell sick on Good Friday. Back at our favourite cafe & #thebestcafeof2015 to try their new menu! We ordered both the new items, Lobster & Truffle Cassoulet and Mentaiko Okonomiyaki, along w our all time favourite Aburi Broccoli Salad (that we gobbled in 5 secs) & Magic Coffee. The lobster truffle may look very gelard but I would say it's a lighter version of Mac & cheese! Just enough truffle oil w/o being overpowering, and that chunky lobster pieces in that light creamy cheese sauce (tgt w mushroom, potato & tomato) which I cleared up without any leftovers. (Ppl that know me, know how small my appetite is 😝😝) Now we might just skip that gym session we planned...😴 #foodcoma #sundaybrunch #burpple #burppletastemakers
Came here for its wanton mee of course! Pricey compared to what you can get at the hawker centre, but the texture of the noodles and also the freshness of the wanton is what amazed me! Legit Hong Kong Wanton Mee!
Affordable and tasty western food! The fish was baked nicely on the outside and tender on the inside, and goes well with the brown sauce. Great choice of food to tuck into first while your nice boyfriend queues for the famous Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodles just next door ;p
