Eat simi: Duck Ramen (3 pcs)
Each how much: $11.65 (inclu. GST + Service Charge)
Eat which store: Tokyo Shokudo
Eat where: Lot 1, Choa Chu Kang
Eat nice not: 4.5/5
🍜
Hol’ up. Tokyo shokudo needs to spill their deeds now. The broth was extra GAO and creamy which made it feel like it has been simmering for an entire century. 🤯 (LIKE WHAT) It’s also super addictive, with a silky texture which glides down your throat without the flavour being too surfeiting. 🤯🤯 The shallots may look unassuming, but it’s in fact a whole flavour bomb which lifted the entire dish. 🤯🤯🤯 Served al dente while being coated with aromatic fats, the noodles proved themselves to be equally addictive. 🤯🤯🤯🤯 For the last part, I absolutely love how the bowl is ceramic and not plastic, which allows the ramen to retain its heat better, guaranteeing to not only warm your gut, but also your heart. ❤️
🍜
The one thing which I couldn’t get myself to enjoy was the duck. 🤨 It has a weird herbaceous taste and was slightly bitter too. 🧐 I didn’t like its cardboard-like texture either though it was quite easy to bite through. Best to opt for other meat options instead!
🍜
Undoubtedly a well thought out bowl of noodles which demands another visit. Not the duck though. 🙃🙃
Eat simi: Coffee Caramel Tart
Each how much: $8.50 (Shopee 2 for $10)
Eat which store: TCC
Eat where: Ion Orchard
Eat nice not: 3.5/5
☕️
TCC nailed the texture with it’s luscious and soft interior, encased by a “DOing DOing” pudding-like skin. ☺️ The savouriness of the caramel does an excellent job in highlighting the bitterness and aroma of the coffee due to the contrasting flavours. I also enjoyed the pairing of coffee and chocolate ganache within the tart! 🍫
☕️
The tart could be more buttery and less dry though, because it did not manage to hold the entire tart very well. Everything started to crumble quite badly. 😭 The bitter decorative chocolate could be less sweet too to bring out even more aroma of other elements.
☕️
It’s be great to educate staffs on basic maintenance of the food such as how long it can be kept too!!
☕️
A tart which provides an enhanced textural experience!! Smooth, aromatic and luscious without the any excess surfeit! 🙌
Eat simi: Mango Puffs
Eat how much: $15.50 for 25 puffs
Eat which store: J&C Bakery
Eat where: Blk 15 Woodlands Loop #03-03, Singapore, 738322
Eat nice not: 4.5/5
🥭
The highest praise this mango puff will receive is that it's not-too-sweet! 😉 Precisely because of that it's extremely lethal as you can devour many at a time. 😱 The puffs also have a golden 1:1 ratio of pastry and cream which doesn't feel too jelak after several puffs. 😚 the mango filling is extremely fluffy and smooth, with a hint of mango fragrance which does not taste too strong or artificial. 👍 You can even notice the thin mango fibres as they use legit mango puree to make their mango puffs with no artificial flavours!!
🥭
Although the puffs may not be puff-connoisseur standard of having a crispy shell, its relatively affordable price makes it all justifiable! Also i think the soft texture is extremely nostalgic as it reminds me those buffet eclairs when buffets were still a thing pre-covid. I think having adding more distinct mango fibres would elevate the texture and the entire puffs entirely. 🙃
🥭
If you are looking for an affordable, addictive and nostalgic puff (i ate this since i was a kid!!!!), this mango puff is a must try!! 🤩

The staff were very friendly and quickly serve us their complimentary appetizer, cold bean sprout, which I felt was not bad, with some umami flavors.
We ordered their miso mushroom noodles and we must say they are atas version of bar chor mee, just a twist with an addition of Japanese flavors like the hanjuku eggs and seaweed flakes. The servings were rather generous, a lot of mushroom slices, and your typical garnishes. The egg noodles were chewy and springy, firm to bite i wld say and with the fried shallots, they added some crunch and flavor to every bite.
I would say the gyoza would the main character. Especially the fried pierogi, I was quite surprise as the fried pierogi was really an interesting dish, stuffed w truffle potatoes, cheese and bacon, the strong truffle flavor just release inside your mouth when you take the first bite! 👍🏼 It wasn’t too jelak as well even though there are potatoes inside and the skin to filling ratio is good 😊! Would go back for their fried pierogi!! Otherwise, the original one is also a decent one, fillings weren’t too dry, they still retain that juice in the gyoza. (was salivating while typing this so yall know how good this is 😊)
🥟
If I have to picky a little, I would say their egg noodle flavor wasn’t quite well executed, there wasn’t much taste to the noodle but the sauce and garnishes saved the day.
🥟
Good ambience, super affordable lunch set and friendly staff. This has definitely won my heart over considering they are located in the CBD area.
Eat simi: Jaffa Danish
Each how much: $6
Eat which store: Bakers Bench
Eat where: 6 Bukit Pasoh Rd, Chinatown
Eat nice not: 4.9/5
🍊
I was first welcomed by the the invigorating aroma of butter and orange fragrance which invites you to dig in for bite. 😍 Then, I took the leap of faith to bite into the orange (including the peel), and was rewarded with a pleasant chew with an exotic aroma, accompanied by the distinct hint of bitterness. Gladly though, BB’s magic does not end here. Beneath the sweet citrus, inhabits the perfect antidote to orange bitterness — molten hazelnut chocolate. All elements are extremely well-balanced to bring out the best in everyone. This is messy business with myriad of flavours which you are bound to be addicted to. How much more perfect could it get?? 🧡
🍊
The danish may end up slightly limp due to the overwhelming sauces and juice. Tip: lay the danish flat instead of vertically!
🍊
With every element well perfected, every mouthful just makes you question: “how the hell could I have bought something THAT OUT OF THE WORLD??!!”. 🌌Today I learnt that BB innovates ideas which not only works, but is executed with perfection. I’ve found my new love. ❤️❤️❤️

Each how much: $3.75 (Incl. GST and Service Charge)
Eat which store: Sushiro
Eat where: Lot 1, Choa Chu Kang

🎃
First bite in and and I’m completely sold. The custard was extra creamy and smooth with the tinge of pumpkin aroma! It was also delicately sweet, made perfect with an extra sweet and sugary crunch from the torched brulee. ❤️🔥 I was kinda shooketh too at how refreshing and light it tasted, especially after a mountain hill sushi feast. 🥰
🎃
I couldn’t really taste much of the matcha base (I am assuming it is matcha bc GREEN) but wells it didn’t kill off any of the 💯 perfect tasting experience. And only if it was bigger so that I can have more of that 5/5 🥲🥲
🎃
THIS NEEDS TO BE A PERMANENT ITEM SO THAT WE CAN LAST LONG 4EVERR 😭😭!!!!! PERIODTTTTT.

Eat simi: Salmon Kaisen (Lunch Bowl)
Each how much: $11.70 (Incl GST+ Service charge)
Eat which store: Tanuki Raw
Eat where: Orchard Central
Eat nice not: 4.2/5
🐟
For only $10, it comes with myraid variety of thicc and generous serving salmon slices. The fresh salmon pieces served was fresh and silky smooth, and surprisingly, with a hint of charred fragrance due to the aburi salmon beside it. 🔥 The mentaiko was creamy, though slightly lacklustre as I hoped that it could be more seared and stronger tasting. Rice was served with an extra OOMPH due to the addition of seasoning but it also comes with an acquired taste which some may not be used to. The entire dish was elevated with a dollop of of ikura — providing the flavours reminiscent of the sea with its savouriness and umami. Last but definitely not a fact to missed, did you know that Tanuki Raw uses freshly grated wasabi? Although it wasn’t as pungent, it’s still a lethal tear jerker which left me crying for tissue after every bite of the addictive spice. 💧
🐟
For a price like none other, and a satisfying lunch bowl packed with only the generosity of Tanuki Raw, I guess I’m proud to announce that I’ve found my next favourite lunch spot. 😳
🐟
Fun fact: I tried the decorative leaf too. 😬

Eat simi: Sajo Korean Style Mozzarella Corndogs
Each how much: $9.60 (UP: $13.80)
Eat which store: Available at supermarkets
Eat where: Home
Eat nice not: 3.2/5
🌽🐶
This is my first ever corndog experience and was not too disappointed!! The first loud bite unveiled a pillowy sweet bread underneath, encasing a lovely stretch of mozzarella which was neither too heavy tasting, not too greasy. 👍 The bread was also accompanied with a hint of meaty and buttery taste. :O
🌽🐶
The happiness didn’t last quite long though. 😭 The mozzarella lost its stretch halfway through despite reheating and tbh, there’s better tasting snacks out there which costs less!! Happiness doesn’t need to be so expensive lah. *Love yourself yalls*
🌽🐶
Pretty enjoyed the equilibrium of sweet and savoury! It’s can be considered as a fun treat but definitely not comparable to the real deal. 🐾 Sis wants a dog too but gotta plan it out before it happens yalls. Before then, perhaps a corndog once in a while to fill the void?
Eat simi: Signature Pho Beef Combination (ALC)
Each how much: $10.70 (Inclu. service charge + GST)
Eat which store: Pho Street
Eat where: Keat Hong CC
Eat nice not: 1/5
🍜
I’ve never felt more bad writing a review but here we go…😢
🍜
The soup was pretty average, with a touch of earthiness from the spice to provide its flavours. 🙃 However, it was pretty one-dimensional and same goes for the noodles as well which failed to absorb any of the flavour, hence tasting rather flat. Beef was unsurprisingly sinew and tasteless, although the meatball did save the dish a bit. I quite liked the complimentary crispy fried pork roll though. Pretty fragrant and savoury! Especially the addition of mushrooms with added a nice fibrous texture. 👍 Alas, it was insanely oil-drippingly greasy — a result of the lack of frying etiquette. 😮💨
🍜
It was my second time visiting after a few years but still can’t seem to get myself to enjoy this pho. It’s quite sadly a warm bowl of noodles which does not seek my return. 💔 But who knows? Maybe I was twice unlucky and you could enjoy your visit there! Third time’s the charm!

Eat simi: Mango Pie
Each how much: $1.40
Eat which store: McDonald’s
Eat where: Bukit Panjang Plaza
Eat nice not: 4.5/5
🥭
Unsurprisingly, McDonald’s remains rather selfless with the amount of fillings in their pies. 🤤 With the creative addition of nate de coco, it provided a textural contrast I didn’t know I needed in my life. The mango filling had a sweet fragrant tang, and actually resembles a viscous mango juice (LOL). Don’t take my wrongly, it doesn’t mean it’s bad though! The sweetness of the pie wasn’t overwhelmingly diabetes-inducing, rather, all elements were carried pretty well!
🥭
Nothing can actually go wrong with Mcdonald’s food. I’ll update you guys when that day arrives. Till then, their pies are 😚👌

Eat simi: Banana Chocolate Pau
Eat which store: Just Dough
Eat where: Suntec City, B1 -169 Fountain Court
Eat nice not: 3.7/5
🍌
Interestingly, there was a subtle infusion of banana aroma in the dough which prevented the chocolate from overpowering the former. 👍 The chocolate filling was bittersweet, without the usual surfeiting sweetness in conventional store-bought sweet baos. The slices of banana dispersed among the filling had a slight bouncy texture, similar to goreng pisang. Its tart sweetness was prominently highlighted especially in the bittersweet chocolate filling, which was rather appetizing too!!
🍌
I felt that this bao was lacking the signature fluffiness of Just Dough buns and there weren’t as much fillings compared to the other flavours. 🥲 It’d be great if there would be a more generous addition of bananas too, because I only spotted 1-2 slices. 😭 The bao ended up rather jelak towards the end due to the soft viscous gel-like texture of the chocolate. 😔
🍌
It’s lacking in some distinct characteristics of a Just Dough bao but it doesn’t make this a bad choice either, when the flavours complimented each other quite well. If you’re searching for a sweet yet not-sugary alternative for your breakfast or snack time, this could be a good option!! 😮💨
