First bite in and and Iโm completely sold. The custard was extra creamy and smooth with the tinge of pumpkin aroma! It was also delicately sweet, made perfect with an extra sweet and sugary crunch from the torched brulee. โค๏ธโ๐ฅ I was kinda shooketh too at how refreshing and light it tasted, especially after a mountain hill sushi feast. ๐ฅฐ

I couldnโt really taste much of the matcha base (I am assuming it is matcha bc GREEN) but wells it didnโt kill off any of the ๐ฏ perfect tasting experience. And only if it was bigger so that I can have more of that 5/5 ๐ฅฒ๐ฅฒ

Each how much: $10.70 (Incl GST & service charge)
Eat which store: Tongue Tip Lanzhou Beef Noodles

My classic fail-proof choice of small flat noodles never fails to live up to my expectation of ensuring maximization of flavours! (Science says: Larger surface area to volume ratio๐ฉโ๐ฌ) Even better, the noodles were perfectly al dente โ retaining a slight Q without the coated flavours being too heavy on the palate. The beef was savoury and rich, excluding any gaminess. ๐คฉ Not forgetting, itโs texture was tender and easy to break apart!! Other wins include the soup generously packed with spices, and the pleasant kick of the noodles from the serving of chilli. ๐ฅณ
๐
However, I do think that the chilli is missing some definitive fragrance to bring out the best of this noodle dish. ๐ถ The noodles may also be tad oily too. ๐ถโ๐ซ๏ธ

This is good-enough bowl of noodles which makes me crave for a rainy day for the excuse of another visit. ๐คซ Perhaps itโs time for another visit especially during this rainy season. โ๏ธ

This is one of the most affordable and flavourful thunder tea rice i've tried ๐คค The soup is adequately savoury and extremely gao! It's extremely rich in flavour, yet it feels so comforting to drink even during a hot weather.
They do not scrimp on the ingredients either - each bowl is loaded with cabbage, long beans, dried tofu and others which i am too unknowleagable to recognize ๐ถ. There's also bits of cai poh (preserved radish) which adds a nice crunch and saltiness when the rice is mixed together. The brown rice which is difficult to master is nicely cooked. It does not taste undercooked at all neither is it too moist and wet. Perfecto โค
โก
In (thunder tea) essence, this is by far the best thunder tea rice i've tried due to its serving, taste and affordable price. ๐ฅฐ
โก
They sell Hakka-style yong tao fu which costs about $1/ingredient too! Will visit again to give them a try ๐คค

To conclude our chronicles of triplets trilogy, we have oreo cream cheese bread with ONE cranberry as an easter egg ๐ฅบ i was really enticed by the speckles of oreos when i got it!! ๐คค

Eat how much: $1.60 ($1.28 w 20% staff disc)
Eat which store: TripletS
Eat where: SGH
Eat nice not: 1.9/5 + 0.1 for free cranberry
๐ง
The bread texture was a win! It leans towards a more structured yet fluffy texture which was interesting. However, I was rather disappointed with this bun because it barely felt like there was any oreo or cream cheese :( there was only some slight tartness of cream cheese and i couldn't taste the oreo cookies flavour either. I'd prefer some oreo bits at least or more cream cheese filling :/ As this bread would've cost $1.60 without any staff discount, i personally think there are better cream cheese breads in other bakeries which costs just slightly more but provides more filling for around the same price. Wells at least i got a free cranberry ๐ฌ
๐ง
This is the only bun i've tried from TripletS so maybe other breads are good ๐ค please drop some recommendations which you'd like us to review when i go back to grab my waffles and sandwich ๐

This meal deserves all my love for the price, flavour and satisfaction โค The beetroot flavoured bread is soft and filling, although i feel like the beetroot is more for aesthetic rather than practical value. But it tastes great. HAHA. Do not belittle this sandwich because of its affordable pricetag!! It is packed with the standard ingredients - lettuce, tomato, cucumber and also a half slice of cheese! The salmon may taste rather salty and kinda lacks the smoky taste but i have no complaints considering this is only $3.84 ๐ญ They can be quite generous with their ingredients so this just makes the $3.84 so much more worth it ๐คฉ I dabao-ed for my friend their herb-chicken sandwich and she was super amazed by it too!!
๐ฅช
Triplets offer other flavoured breads such as purple rice (my favourite with bits of textured purple rice in the bread ๐), wholegrain and others. They offer a variety of meat fillings such as herb chicken, spicy chicken, smoked duck and egg mayo. The chicken fillings only costs $3.04 with staff discount!! Say what?! ๐ค

TLDR: JUST GO TRY IT! DAMN CHEAP AND DARN NICE!

Firstly, the affordable price (w staff discount) has already won my heart. With the crispy golden-brown exterior and warm soft interior, every bite into this just makes the fireworks go BOOM BOOM BOOMย ๐ With a faint pandan flavour, the waffles are generously served which oozingly rich and sweet chocolate filling, perfect on a day with sugar-craving ๐ซ
๐ง
To extremeeee pandan lovers, it may not have a strong pandan flavour but it's also noted that they do not market their waffles as pandan flavoured!! But try it for the texture and you will be converted into a TripletS waffle devoutee
๐ง
This waffle by tripletS wins in its perfect texture. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. *muacks* This waffle is also insanely popular among SGH staffs and patients judging by the number of waffles ordered in one bag and the huge (socially-distanced) crowd waiting 10-15 minutes for their waffles ๐ฅ

First off, the charsiew in yours sincerely's words, melt-in-your-mouth-artery-blocking-justified heavenly goodness. It's packed with intense char fragrance with the usual charsiew-sweetness ๐๐ You know how people usually comment of how the meat is "fragrant" or "sweet"? This is the perfect epitome of what these people are talking about. The marriage of the slight chew of meat fibres and glutinous texture of the nicely cooked Japanese rice immediately teleports you to a wedding ball *plays wedding march by Felix Mendelssohn* The glaze deeply infused with charcoal aroma also adds another dimension of flavour to the rice, giving it another *OOMPH* The acidity of the pickled radish was on point and accomplishes its perfect supporting role of cutting through the greasiness of the pork.
๐
I was borderline gonna give it a 4.8/5 but it slowly started tasting more "Jelak" towards the end of my meal due to the greasiness of the pork. Also, i would prefer more consistency to the texture and cuts as some pork slices had a 90% fat-10% meat ratio :/
๐
Overall, i really enjoyed how the the complex layers of flavours slowly unravels itself to reveal the distinct aroma of each element. ALSO CAN WE DISCUSS HOW THIS IS $10 FOR SUCH A BIG SERVING??? It feel like a $18 worth of meal (bc it was supposed to be $17.80 before promo HAHAH

This is one of the most enjoyable and affordable bingsu i've had! The bingsu is dusted with addictive sweet matcha powder with adequate matcha bitterness and nutiness to keep you digging for more! The bingsu is also finely grated with a hint of milky sweetness ๐๐ plus points goes to its free-flow condensed milk (though the small disposable plastic containers provided isn't very practical and eco friendly). Personally, i would prefer the red bean sandwiched between the ice cream and bingsu to be less sweet and smoother or more textured. As you can see the picture, there are whole red beans within the red bean paste, so i'd prefer something more definite rather than having my brain to decipher the contrasting textures of the same ingredient. The bingsu is topped with a scoop of matcha ice cream which tasted rather average and lacking.
๐ง
Despite the lacking elements of the bingsu (red bean and ice cream), it is compensated by the matcha powder, bingsu and its affordable price! I'd suggest going for the $10.90 bowl if you are sharing with more than two people for a much bigger portion for an extra $2 only. Still my go-to bingsu because of its price, location and not-too-bad taste ๐

Interesting dishes includes smoked duck which my fellow reviewer complains it's too peppery for her liking but it's fine for me! The only gripe i have against the ingredients is that the bbq and teriyaki marinated meats tasted very similar that we can't differentiate between the two. Most westies should have heard abt them! Opens at 3am and closes at 2pm in the afternoon, this stall sells a variety of noodles and porride. Of course, they are famous for their ke kou mian, so dont get confused by their name! ๐๐ผ
For the bowls we tried, they contain minced meat, pork slices, veggies, pork liver and topped with fried scallions (like your typical ban mian ingredients but pork liver is a plus for me ๐) You can also top up $0.50 for an egg.
Unfortunately, the soup was slightly salty for me ๐, but for the noodle and meat i find it decent though, can taste the marinated minced meat. Wouldnโt say it is mind blowing good because it is just instant noodles, something like home cook noodles but a slightly salty version ๐ฌ
What i wish there are ikan billis in it to add on that crunchiness and soup base can be less salty, other than that i think it is a decent bowl of noodles you can get at this price point. I wouldnโt eat this often, i would eat it when i feel like itโฆ (dont come @ me pls)

However, if you are at its vicinity and craving for some decent supper, or wanting to jio your frens for some supper time ๐ฅฑ, go ahead and try! There are other variations of ke kou mian that yall could try too! Do try to avoid peak hours as the wait can be as long as 30mins!!
