I just love their mantous and baos. And this yam version did not disappoint! The filling isn't too sweet and the bun is just. so. FLUFFY!
Stuffed coconut bun! I'm the odd one that prefers it not to be soaking with gula melaka/syrup, so this is perfect. However the bread was not as fluffy as I remembered (maybe it was a bad day).
I like that the filling isn't that sweet and the bread was soft. It seems that they have reduced the quantity of the pumpkin paste though ):
Look at that filling to dough ratio. If I had to be super picky, the bun is a bit on the denser side and it is not as fragrant as other buns. But I'm not complaining - definitely worth a buy (and another).
Why you skimped on the filling part 2. Would recommend microwaving this rather than eating it as it is. Good texture with the pumpkin, yam paste and flowly mochi. Super sweet though.
Fluffy but why you skimped on the filling! I almost missed out that there was cream cheese with the azuki.
Swee Heng's breads are much sweeter than the other bakeries I've been too. The matcha azuki was one of the more palatable options out of the few I've purchased. Could afford to have more mochi but the matcha flavour came through. The semi flaky bun is fun to eat, but if you're buying for for the flavour, duke bakery will be a better option.
Got the croissant during the clearance sale (6-730pm everyday, 3 for $10). The pastry was not soggy at all even at 630pm - still has that delightful flakiness. Wish there was a tad more sesame so that there's a good butter/sesame flavour balance in each bite.
Glorious ham and cheese toastie! So so substantial and every bit of yummy! The mustard and chive/garlic cream was the star of the show. Making every bite flavourful yet not too rich from the cheese. Though be careful as the toasted bread may cut your mouth. Still worth it.
Big, flaky, buttery. Would love for the vegemite adn cheese taste to be more pronounced though.

Pie had chunks of chicken mixed with the vegetables, though the mushroom was kind of lacking. We were quite disappointed upon cutting the pie open as it wasn't nicely filled. It was too salty for our tastes as well.
Tbvh - personally, would prefer the old school chicken pie.
