A breaded mixture of fish & chips and fried chicken, topped with nacho cheese. Loved the fusion between the deep fried fish and chicken! Really digging the cheese that accompanied this dish as well hehe yummmm ๐Ÿค—

hereโ€™s to my all-time favourite pancake flavour from mr bean ๐Ÿซ

the hazelnut chocolate filling was so rich and decadent, with crispy bits (which tasted a little like rice crackers?) encased within the fluffy pancake, adding a nice crunch that accompanied every single bite ๐Ÿ˜‹ priced at $1.80, i believe this is an affordable sweet treat that could very well satisfy one's craving for chocolate :)

Picked cha soba as my choice of carb, lemongrass chicken thigh as my protein, and my three toppings were: pickled cucumbers, beansprouts and roasted celery. Chose the Thai spicy vinaigrette as the dressing for my salad.

The soba tasted a little stale - perhaps because they kept it in the plastic container for quite a while and when I ordered, they simply took the container out and added the additional ingredients. Even though I could barely taste any hint of lemongrass in the lemongrass chicken thigh, the chicken meat was tender and I quite like it. All three toppings were pretty well-seasoned, albeit being a tad too oily. Picked the wrong choice of dressing, as the vinaigrette was way too sweet and did not go well with my salad.

Overall, I'm satisfied with my choice of toppings, but not so with the soba and the dressing. I loved how generous the portion was, despite the cheaper price point in comparison to other salad shops. This did not fill me up though... I think I should pick two or even three proteins the next time I order ๐Ÿ˜…

Located at a hawker centre in Toa Payoh Lorong 1 is this unassuming stall selling muffins that have odd-looking shapes - thus the name "Uggli Muffins". The stall owner, a bespectacled man in his 40s/50s, is really friendly and offers his customers a muffin for free (before they even place their order!) if it's their first time patronising his stall. I bought a total of 12 muffins from him, and managed to try the banana walnut flavour, oreo flavour, chocolate flavour, cranberry flavour and raisins & orange peel flavour. My favourite out of all has got to be the banana walnut one - its interior is perfectly moist and buttery. It leans more towards the sweet side, and maintains its sponginess with visible banana slices and a whole walnut in it. Some might not like that these muffins often have burnt edges at the top, but I'm totally fine with that - in fact I love nibbling on the crispy rim of these muffin tops! ๐Ÿคค

Being very reasonably priced, each muffin only costs $1.10, buy 10 and you get 2 for free. That makes it $11 for a dozen of good ol' muffins - what a good deal! This is my first time trying these muffins and I can confidently say that I would definitely be back for more.

Thunder Tea Rice, aka ๆ“‚่Œถ (Lei Cha), from a stall at the air-conditioned Gourmet Paradise foodcourt located at Toa Payoh HDB Hub. Initially, I had high hopes for this dish, after reading up on several good reviews about it. However, I am a little disappointed by how underwhelming it is. The ingredients were just the usual TTR ingredients, nothing special. The soup was terribly diluted and lacked the strong tea taste. Overall, with its slightly hefty price point, I feel that this is not worth queuing up for and I have definitely eaten much better TTR at other places in Singapore.

OVERALL RATING: 5.5/10

This has got to be my favourite bun from BreadTalk! It has walnuts encased within the bun, and its exterior is studded with sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds. It has this nutty texture which I really love! I'm also a sucker for how good it smells when it's fresh out from the oven hehehehehe

picked my all-time fav sauce - chocorock as usual; had almond crocanti as my crunch and even though it was a tad too sweet, it went really well with the yogurt! ๐Ÿ‘ผ๐Ÿป

green tea mochi with actual azuki beans (not the paste) encased within. not as chewy as your usual mochi and the texture sure feels a little odd. there is barely any matcha taste, and the azuki beans were a little too sweet for my liking.

would give this a 1.5/5 :( doubt Iโ€™d purchase it again

Martian's Delight on Wholemeal Wrap $10.90

Ingredients include romaine lettuce, roasted mango chicken, pumpkin, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and broccoli. Swapped the carrots for broccoli. The dressing that was supposed to come with this salad/wrap is the wasabi mayo dressing, but I prefer having it without the dressing as I do not like my wrap to be wet and soggy. In fact, the roasted mango chicken is moist enough to prevent the wrap from being too dry. Picked wholemeal wrap as my choice of wrap and it was delicious! I particularly love the pumpkin served at Simply Wrapps, as it is always so mushy and creamy!

The wrap is MASSIVE - it left me feeling v full and satisfied ๐Ÿ˜Œ This is definitely one of my go-to eateries whenever I'm craving for healthy and delicious wraps.

(+):
- thin and chewy skin
- v generous amount of fillings!!!!
- popiah skin does not turn soggy even after it has been left aside for a few hours
- consistent quality
- Qiji is a halal-certified eatery! which means I can dine here with my Muslim friends hehe
- there are quite a number of Qiji outlets across the island

(-):
- the sweet sauce in the popiah is a little too sweet for my liking; I need to remember to ask for less sweet sauce the next time I get their popiah
- popiah is slightly pricy at $2.30 per roll

rating: 9/10

I have heard how good this popiah is, hence I was v excited to try it out for myself!

(+):
- turnips were extremely juicy and tasty
- just the right amount of sweet sauce, not stingy yet not overly generous to the point where the skin would turn soggy
- generous amount of crunchy bits
- value for money

(-):
- the skin was pretty dry and not as soft/chewy
- ordered one of my popiah with chilli but I only tasted chilli in 2 out of 5 parts of the popiah roll, which meant that the chilli was not evenly spread out

rating: 8/10
