$18++, simple ribeye steak and a portion of pasta. Nothing extraordinary but the combination works.
The crab was cool to touch. It was well cooked & flesh came off easily. Crab had alot of flesh & eggs. Plum sauce & chilli sauce complemented well.
9.80 for a bowl of pho with the works. Very stingy with the bean sprouts. Broth is ok, noodles are chewy and not over done. The beef balls tasted like flour and maybe not cooked... Also had the grilled lemongrass chicken with rice, chicken was too oily and not as flavorful as expected.
Pizza has a thin crust and contains ham, mushrooms and fish flakes. Pizza has light flavours and is just right for a lunch or a light dinner. Supposed to be a signature dish of the cafe. Cafe has gained popularity recently and so is rather crowded. Children sitting at nearby tables create a noisy environment that is not conducive for conversation.
Very tasty and filling. Generous with rock lobsters. Slightly pricy.
Had their only fish course for lunch. The salmon was well cooked, and the skin was seared perfectly. The salmon itself was a tad bland. The sauce is something like a pesto but it was really watery/oily. A sweet sauce, I think it was teriyaki, was drizzled on the fish, so the combination of flavors and textures was pretty good. Price was 25++, and I would put it on the slightly pricey side.
Chicken is smooth, but not as flavorful as the price tag would suggest. Portion is big. Also ordered the bean sprouts and seasonal vegetables, those portions were more good sharing than single diner. The bean sprouts were overdone but still tasted great, while the seasonal vegetables were painfully ordinary. Good comfort food for an exorbitant price... You can get better for less!
Filling. A tad dry. Too thick to bite, had to halve it before eating so it lost abit of flavor.
One of the higher priced instances of local comfort food...
