Classic Duck Leg Confit Quite a hidden find in Greenwich V — a place that is already seemingly tucked away at the end of Buangkok and Seletar, while Meet & Meat is situated at the ground level hidden in an aisle in the mall that's not visible from the main road. Here, every order of a main comes with two sides where they offer a list of sides to choose from.
Went for the Corn Gratin and Sautéed Potatoes for my order. The duck leg was actually pretty good; briny and really tender with a crisp exterior — the duck leg was done so well that the meat simply slides off the bone, coming off pretty cleanly. The sides were decent; the Corn Gratin was essentially cream corn topped off with a layer of cheese that is torched before serving — more cream than cheese but there is already enough cheese for a stringy pull; the corn, however, felt a little more generic. Sautéed potatos carried a slight crisp crust with a bit of bite, being pretty earthy — good enough being served the way it is but I have always fancied mine with a little sprinkle of sea salt and mixed herbs just like how I do it at home; that's just personal preference though. I would say this is a good place for some satisfying French fare around the neighbourhood; that sort of hole-in-the-wall bistro that is cosy with dim lighting that is the least bit pretentious — great for a date nearby or small family dinners in general.
