I never found time to try out @threebunssg, but they found me at home with @deliveroo_sg. Yeah, now I regret every single day that I’ve missed out on all their brilliant burgers. The Fun Boy Three ($26.75 before delivery charge) was a real fungi (geddit?) thanks to yuge portobello mushroom perched upon the thick, marvellously meaty beef patty.⠀
⠀
I like big burgs and I cannot lie, you other brothas can’t deny. I want ‘em real thick and juicy, and the Fun Boy Three definitely delivers. The Tasmanian Vintage beef patty is scintillatingly savoury, satisfyingly meaty, and jubilantly juicy. It could do with more char on the exterior, but that’s a minor nitpick in all honesty.
The earthy, moreish mushroom which has been swaddled in melted smoked applewood cheddar just increases the absolute satisfaction of each and every bite. The meat & mushroom is lubed up with a tremendously tantalising truffle aioli AND garlic miso butter, and the lubed up meat is jammed between two fluffy, pillowy and tanned big buns. That ain’t just satisfaction, that’s a food orgasm.
Three Buns’ house fries are absolutely addictive, and despite taking a 45 minute road trip to my crib, they were still compellingly crisp on the outside while being soft & savoury on the inside. Of course, it gets brought back to life after reheating for ten minutes in a conventional oven, and the burger gets a second wind after taking five in an oven.⠀
⠀
The Fun Boy Three is certainly expensive, but I’d be lying if I said that it wasn’t well worth every damn penny I invested into it.
Newly opened by a group of passionate young people. Tried the Grilled Salmon (pictured) and their Philly Cheesesteak.
The salmon was well seasoned and grilled albeit a little dry, but not a problem with the paired white BBQ sauce. To round it off we picked the spiced rice and mesclun salad sides, both of which were great (really loved the rice!) 👍
The Philly Cheesesteak wasn't exactly what I expected, but still satisfying. Though it was packed full of sliced beef and caramelized onions, there seemed to be less cheese than usual, probably to appeal more to local tastes. Will give it another go in the future!
Since we went back to the office for a,day, decided to buy this home as a treat for the following day of working from home🥤
1-for-1 with Burpple Beyond, great value! Note that the more expensive ones (indicated as exclusions) can't be selected for the free drink.
We can now meet our friends and chill over BBT. So why not try a new, local BBT cafe - Forbidden Tea - at Marymount CC (Bishan)? If you dine in, you’ll get to sip on your BBT in proper glasses (not the typical plastic cups).
•
[Verdict: Terryfic 👍🏻] Matcha Latte ($5.90/6.90). This is my favourite of the three drinks I’ve tried. Perhaps I’m partial to matcha. The proportion of matcha powder to milk is just right, making it not too overwhelming for those who aren’t a big fan of very gao (concentrated and bitter) matcha drinks. And it’s pretty smooth since the matcha powder mixes very well with the milk.
•
[Verdict: Terryfic 👍🏻] Classic Milk Tea ($3.40/4.40); Add Pearls for $0.80/1.20. One of the three signatures here, the milk tea is rather comforting. I’m not the biggest fan of pearls in my BBT but I like the soft and chewy texture of the translucent pearls. Each and every pearl is painstakingly made by hand in store. And they come in taro form too.
•
[Verdict: InTerrysting 👌🏻] Passion Fruit Jasmine ($3.90/4.90). It’s pretty much what you can expect in a fruity tea. There’s a strong fruity and flowery note when you drink the tea, making it light and refreshing. It would be perfect if there was a stronger passionfruit taste.
•
The prices are rather affordable and it’s wallet friendly for students. If you’re a student of EJC, count yourselves lucky that you can grab some BBT after school.
•
They’re open for dine in from today. So you can slowly chill and enjoy your BBT in air-conditioned comfort.
•
Thank you @forbiddentea_sg for having me!
•
P.S. Can’t wait to try their signature Rice Oolong soon. .

Who said you can’t bring the atas life home?......Proper plating elevates the experience! Was surprised at how good the food looked AND tasted. The separate components were all separated nicely into boxes - sweets, savories and scones so the food mostly came well intact despite them being so small and dainty! The overarching theme seemed to be pink & rose making it perfect for Mother’s Day!! :-)
It's fried chicken, and it's good 👍 Service here is great, they even provided disposable gloves should you prefer not to get your hands oily.
Despite being in a nice restaurant setup, they still kept this bowl of Bai Nian Yong Tau Foo at just $5. Taste just as good as the original.
Besides this, we also ordered the chicken wings, fried chicken skin, and fried pork to share. Each were great! Hope this place gains more traction - their food is good at reasonable prices.
Simple & enjoyable burger with the beef grilled on the spot. I would've preferred the beef slightly more grilled, but it was still a juicy and flavourful satisfaction. A little pricey, but I think it's reasonable for a fresh burger. Will definitely be back for more!
Truly the king of fried rice, considering it's half the price of every other popular fried rice around — and arguably better too. No I do not bow to pretenders like DTF, which tbh has not impressed me.

This time I had the 𝗫𝗢 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 ($6.80) which was luxuriously fragrant and dressed in a robe of egginess and elegantly-enunciated smokiness. Every grain of rice was clearly seperated and sported the perfect moistness, whilst shying away from greasiness. The addition of XO and hae bee gave it a delectable brininess that blended in well, though slightly covering over the egginess.

The dish truly attained its majesty when adorned with that handsome crown of a pork chop. The crisp on the skin was immaculate, accentuating the tender and bouncy meat which was overflowing with flavour.

Don't go expecting mind blowing food here, but it's still pretty decent for cheap prices! Pictured is Spaghetti Bolognese at just $3.90. My wife & I love Saizeriya for a cheap and quick date night 😜
Been a regular of Narrative for a few months now ever since Tong joined forces with the original couple behind Dancing Goat and I was contemplating whether to review or not because I didn’t want this place to get more crowded than it already is. But I do want them to succeed so here’s my review!
I always order the dirty matcha with soy milk (not on the menu) and I love it unsweetened. The contrast between the bitter matcha, and distinct well-bodied espresso roast, is rounded off and goes great with soy milk.
After much feedback, they’ve also started to become more adventurous with their baked items and this was the first weekend they baked the sticky date pudding. I taste tested it the day before, and fortunately they decided to warm up the butterscotch sauce to drizzle and serve it today. The sticky date pudding isn’t too sweet, and it’s moist plus soft. Not the best I’ve had (that would still go to PS Cafe), but it’s pretty decent and makes a nice accompaniment with their drinks.
THIS WAS AMAZING everyone should get this honestly this was super super good!! There was an option for choice of pasta and we chose angel hair pasta. The pork belly chunks were SO soft and had so much flavour without being too fatty. I always feel averse to the fats at shaorou hawker stalls but this one was really done well with the skin being super crispy and tasty! The pasta was spicy, similar to regular aglio olio. I will definitely be back!
