Strawberry Peppercorn Sorbet Refreshing end to the meal, with a beautiful yuzu peppercorn consommé that was the only alcohol we had that night. Loved the attention they put in to every fish. Probably a contender for one of the best meals this year amidst the madness of all our CB/HA/phase1-1000.

Cheese, Date, Sesame Tuile The dining buddy commented "Never have i seen a date so plump" to which I responded "I know you only go on dates with skinny ones". Jokes aside, that was indeed one plump date, which apparently cost $2 each according to the waiter. I don't know about you but I've never seen such an interesting random pairing of desserts that were just slapped together but somehow found beauty in their chaos.

Red Mullet Nice but otherwise simple mullet fish with what I believe was fish scales scorched in super hot oil.. that strangely resemble the texture of fingernails. The provencal bisque absolutely blew me away with the intensity of flavours.

Sourdough Loaf - Field ($9) This was one of the best sourdoughs I’ve had! It’s chewy but not till the point of a jaw ache, with a well-balanced flavour. A quick search of ‘firebake’ on my telegram chats would show that “I think firebake’s one is v nice/the best/rly good” 🤪 Pictured is a slice slathered with Tasmanian walnut butter, but I eat it plain as well, because it’s that good. I’m really sad that they have ceased operations, thank you Firebake for the great sourdough! :)

Cheesymite [$4.50] Big, flaky, buttery. Would love for the vegemite adn cheese taste to be more pronounced though.

Rustic Chicken Pie [$12] Pie had chunks of chicken mixed with the vegetables, though the mushroom was kind of lacking. We were quite disappointed upon cutting the pie open as it wasn't nicely filled. It was too salty for our tastes as well. Tbvh - personally, would prefer the old school chicken pie.

Plain Ole Chocolate From Creamier Let’s indulge a plain ole chocolate ice cream cone and get blown away by its rich, dark, and smooth flavour. The texture is creamy and velvety, coating the taste buds with chocolatey goodness. The best part? It's only $4.90! What a steal for such high-quality handcrafted ice cream. Note: Contains dairy, so not suitable for those with dietary restrictions.

Butterscotch almond Buttery rich with a caramel flavour, enjoyed the roasted almond bits within which gave a fragrant nuttiness. [5.5/10]

Hokey pokey Vanilla base mixed with honeycomb crumbs coated with white chocolate adding a crunch though sweetness was rather overpowering, very creamy and melted quickly. [5/10]

[NEW] Waffled Putu Piring ($6) Collaboration with BEGE RACK . Aromatic pandan-infsued coconut ice cream meets waffled putu piring . A rich flavour of delicate rice cakes, caramelised gula melaka and grated coconut .

[NEW] Sesame Tang Yuan ($6) PREMIUM FLAVOUR . A contemporary take on the traditional Chinese dessert . Strong nutty presence of sesame and soft chewy glutinous rice balls with peanut filling

Creamier Had the Waffles with Matcha & Strawberry. Just like the Toa Payoh Outlet, it is still delicious but seems to have lesser variety to choose from. I would also say they could improve on by providing bigger plate if people wish to deconstruct the Waffles to eat much easier and providing bigger utensils.

Orange Milk Chocolate ($4.30) Made using milk chocolate, orange and marshmallows .

Creamier x Able Bagel Collaboration Located among the Colonial building set amidst greenery, back to one of my favourite places for Ice cream with my family. This time, we decided to try something new. ▪️Donut Sandwich with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream & choice of Strawberry Jam or Salted Caramel Sauce, a collaboration between Creamier x Able Bagel (home-based bagel) available for a limited time. ▪️Was recommended to try their bakes-inspired Cinnamon Raisin Cream Cheese Bagel Ice Cream and Golden Waffles with Maple Syrup Ice Cream to go along with freshly baked Belgian Golden Waffles. Still one of the best waffles Creamier has been around for long, but it’s still one of my favorites. The waffles is still crispy and fluffy and their ice creams are just the right amount of sweetness.

1 For 1 Used the burpple 1 for 1 to redeem the clams and got 1 more bag of Sri Lankan crabs. For the crabs, we got the Ultimate Curry which was nice but isn't something we are used to if you are a fan of Black Pepper and Chilli crabs. Love the Caboodle mix and Louisiana Garlic Butter for the clams though. Quite pricey even with the 1 for 1.

Captain's Boil ($99) Gave up trying to take a glamorous shot here because it's going to get messy anyway. The captain's boil comes with Sri Lankan crab, tiger prawns, Venus clams, Loligo squids, bratwurst sausages, corn on the cob, potato and onion all boiled till cooked and served with three dipping sauces - lemon garlic butter, Thai green chilli and regular red chilli. However, I wouldn't recommend this dish because the seafood weren't fresh enough to be tasty on their own - they were really plain and needed the help of the dips. Would get the seasoned seafood next time!

Mum's Pasta ($16) Got 2 for the price of 1 thanks to Burpple Beyond! Pardon the bad photo, but each bag of pasta has more seafood than it looks! While the linguine isn't al-dente, they're sauteed in a tasty sweet & sour brown sauce that's absolutely fragrant once the staff cut open the bag. The tiger prawns and venus clams were fairly fresh, but the sauce really took the show 👍

Falafel Burger Came with the girlfriend for Wednesday date night, armed with Burpple Beyond's 1 for 1. She had the Angus Burger while I took the vegetarian option. The Falafel Burger was delicious, with the hummus sauce complementing the patty well. It also came with a hefty serving of fries. Would definitely be back!

Unfortunately Mediocre Desserts << Dessert >> These 4-course set meals come with a dessert as the last course; either the Alphonso Mango Sorbet or the Avocado Ice Cream with Gula Melaka Sago. Unfortunately, both of these fell short of expectations with the flavours executed quite oddly. The sourness was overpowering for both dessert, & they were served way too hard for it to be enjoyed conveniently. However, if you think about this deal as a 3-course (omitting the dessert) 1-for-1 deal, some might see it as not too shabby. Bad Pizza With Limited Cheese, Taste And Ingrediens Had 2 pizzas here at Casa Roma. I doubt they specialise in pizza. From the picture, you can see the ingredients are so limited and not spread out evenly. Little cheese making it not tasty too. Disappointing: 2/10 Won't come back for the pizza. However, will return to try the pasta that they seem to be more specialised in. Pizza Ordered: FRUTTI DI MARE $23.50 QUATTRO STAGIONI $24

Gnocchi + Ham And Mushroom Pizza Gnocchi was delicious: mushrooms were good, gnocchi itself was soft but had a nice bite, and the SAUCE WAS GREAT! Savoury and creamy, we polished this up. Pizza was decent. It’s good that the crust was quite thin, so we weren’t super stuffed!

Italian Food Overpriced, not worth the money. Does not taste like Italian food. Service was terrible

Authentic Italian Cuisine Ordered the angel hair pasta with blue swimmer crab ($30) and pappardelle pasta with pork leg ragout ($28) which were delicious. Portions were generous too. Added the foie gras ($32) which proved too much food for two. Impeccable service from the service crew who remembered my little reservation note about coming here for a birthday celebration. Didn’t remind them upon arrival so it was a pleasant surprise when they served our tiramisu. Will definitely be back for the amazing food and service!

Quaint Restaurant Specialised In Tuscan Cuisine We had the following: 1. "Tonnarelli" (pictured)- Pasta with Hokkaido Scallops in Basil Pesto and Salmon Caviar - The scallops were juicy and fresh. Pesto was tasty but I wish the texture was a bit more consistent; parts of the broth were a tad bit too watery and 'diluted'. And the ikura was a bit hard to bite. Overall still an above average pasta dish but lacks oomph factor. 2. "Capellini"- Angel Hair with Blue Swimmer Crab Meat cooked in Lobster Bisque - this fared better than the Tonnarelli, tasting homely as if whipped up by a matronly nonna (Italian grandma). Generous shreds of crab meat swimming in lobster broth paired with al-dente angel hair pasta makes this the go-to dish for crustacean lovers. 3. "Battuta"- Salad of Bluefin tuna tartare and avocado - was expecting nothing more than overpriced seasoned tuna sashimi topped with avocado and veggies, but surprisingly this dish is more than the sum of its parts, with the fresh, creamy flavour of the chopped raw tuna and finely sliced avocado pairing really well together, and the crisp greens contributing to the final oomph!

short ribs The Manzo ($48++) features beef ribs slow cooked for 48 hours - the meat falls right off without much probing, and is extremely tender! It’s glazed with a Marsala wine sauce, sweet with a mix of spices. The beef retains its natural juices and went surprisingly well with the unconventional sauce. Am looking forward to a return visit!
