What a steal for $4! 2 plump prawns, leek fishcakes, slice of egg and pork pieces with generous amounts of beehoon. The soup was intensely flavoured, and had a taste profile of the Malaysian prawn noodles. I felt like the spices overpowered the prawn broth, but for those looking for a saltier and spicier soup, this is the bowl for you!
Childhood favourite!!! Generous generous amount of egg (deal breaker for me) and the black sauce was not too sweet. There was also a caramelised burnt note to the dark sauce which provided and interesting element to the dish
Not usually a fan of satay because it’s usually dry meat on a stick but the meat was well marinated. The fragrance of the lemongrass and peanut penetrated into the meat and made it a delight without having to dunk it into the satay sauce!
This soon kueh stands out from the rest because they don’t skimp on the ingredients! The dried shrimp flavour is strong and the turnip is savoury and well balanced. The skin is also chewy! Only available for take-away I think!
My grandmother always buys this for me for dinner!! Look at this messy goodness. Chives were tasty and the size was good for the price. Drenched in the sweet thick sauce and the chilli, I feel so satisfied eating this.
Huge portion and would recommend sharing. The dish was served piping hot and the edges were really crispy! I felt that the chicken filling was dry but if you drench it in curry it will be alright.
Love love love this popiah! It’s flavourful, packed with ingredients and intensely garlicky. Abit pricey (2.20 for a roll) but what a delicious treat!!!
Noodles in a thick savoury and gravy. Taste was very balanced, not overpowered by the beef stock or the Chinese spices. Options to add lime, cincalok, chilli and peanut so you can mix and match to suit your taste. Soup was beefy and flavourful, very delicious!
From the stall with the red signboard. I think they have many franchises haha. This pales in comparison to a laksa yong taufu. Though generous in ingredients, the dish was rather one dimensional in taste. I guess it’s good for people who like their food soaked in curry, but I felt like it was lacking fragrance and spiciness.

From the stall selling kway chup. Very friendly uncle! Really flavourful soup, with the herbal taste of the duck coming through very well. The nuttiness of the peanut also elevated the dish! Decent portion for the price as well
The dumplings were plump and juicy, but contained many fillers like carrots and chives. Personally I enjoy the flavour from the vegetables, but I felt that there could be more meat (or egg even). Soup was missing the typical meaty flavour you find in ban mian. For the price ($3.70) its not too shabby!
