The Daily Cut's menu is unique in terms of the variety and mode of cooking. I had the chestnut brown rice, baked dory, kale, scrambled white egg, and fried tempeh topped with pesto dressing. Enjoyable, quite generous and not over-seasoned. Love the tempeh especially as some places can make it too wet, over-fried or sour-ish but not with this.

One of the most famous ricotta hotcakes in town - the 20 minutes waiting time is so worth it! It is not so jelak with the decent amount of berries and sauce. The ice cream balances out the warmth of the hotcake, though due to the heat it melts quite quickly.

The quality explains the hype. The soft, crunchy skin goes well with the generous filling and it is affordable too! The chili is quite strong but does not overpower the filling.

Decided to venture out of my usual Parmesan Cheese and Cream Crackers - Honey Cinnamon and Danish Cookie. Honey Cinnamon has a heavier cinnamon flavor and merely subtle honey. I initially thought that Danish Cookie will be the buttery and smooth type but it tastes of cinnamon, nutmeg and slight ginger instead - just like Speculoos-lite.

This Rustic Meatball Linguine is my go-to meal here. It has a good balance between the spiciness of chili and sourness/mushy tomatoes. The linguine is al-dente and the meatballs are perfectly firm yet still soft for a leisure bite. The spices also brought the flavor even further. To top the whole experience, the portion is super huge!

Dirty chai that is rather heavy on the spices, therefore it probably overpowered the honey and espresso. It actually tastes similar to their normal chai latte (without the espresso) but I think the spices is more muted in this one.

Everything was done nicely - they are a bakery first so there is no doubt on the sourdough. Sausage is meaty and juicy, and the earthy tone of the mushrooms is great to complement everything. The egg is runny and seasoned enough for most people (I will put more salt though as I love salty stuff). The bacon fats and flavor really came through even though I prefer it to be crispier. No parts of this dish particularly stand out, but they co-exist well together to bring each other's quality well.

Black tea with mousse, 30% sugar - the tea is quite fragrant and refreshing, the sweetness is just nice to bring the tea fragrance out without being cloyingly sweet (I hate sweet stuffs btw) but I prefer a thicker, saltier mousse with a creamier mouthfeel. Nice quick drink nonetheless.

The chocolate is not very intense unlike in other chocolate-specific shops, but this one has an aftertaste of Hazelnut or Ferrero Rocher, which is quite unique and I sort of like. It is a great complement to their gelatos. It also seems that chocolate-based dessert is their forté as their dark chocolate gelato is popular too.

Got their half waffle with pistachio and coffee chips gelato. The pistachio is nutty and not sweet, it feels a bit too intense to me but it is good. The coffee chips has chips and chocolate sprinkles in it, is sweeter than the other scoop and also less coffee-ish. The waffle is crispy on the outside but quite dough-y and dense inside, like halfway between the canteen waffle and café waffle so this meal is so filling! Generally I'd prefer the sauce to be drizzled on the waffle, but it comes separated. It is ok for now but the next time I'm here I should probably ask them just to drizzle it onto the waffle and ice cream.

While they specialise in tarts, and then ventured to dessert and bakes (which are equally good), Drips also serve nice coffee! The beans are from Sister Bruce Coffee Roasters with nut and honey notes and dark chocolate finish. The ratio of coffee to milk is also decent, making it a good post-lunch companion. This flat white is also priced decently at $5.50.

This 2020 National Day special is so crunchy and the milo flavor texture is so prominent! And it is not overly lava-ish which I quite enjoy as it is less messy.
