Am genuinely surprised by the tenderness of the beef that goes very well with kecap manis.
Vanilla Fig Ice Cream is light and velvety with hints of fig that’s not overpowering.
Osmanthus Pear Sorbet is refreshing and best for a hot day.
The chicken leg was roasted to perfection, it’s tender and moist when you cut into it. It goes perfectly with the aubergine chutney and minted yoghurt.
The accompanying ancient grains, broccolini, kale, minted yogurt and pomegranate molasses vinaigrette goes very well with the spiced pumpkin. It’s filling as a meal by itself or order other dishes and share it among friends and family.
This simple rice dish just brings comfort and homely feeling. Nothing fancy, just drizzle the amount of soy sauce to your preference and dig in.
This is definitely not the best tiramisu around but definitely above average. It’s on the “lighter” side of taste for this dessert.
Fresh homemade spinach fettuccine pasta that is generously coated with pesto Genoese sauce. The sun-dried tomatoes adds a hint of acidic that’s needed for this pasta dish.
Fresh tomato sauce topped with generous serving of parma ham and rucola. The pizza was baked to perfection, together the saltiness of the parma ham and the bitterness of the rucola brings a great balance to the pizza.
Longan Osmanthus Pu-Erh (Left) and Salted Plum Wolfberry Pu-Erh (Right). The drinks were great and wished that the taste of Pu-Erh can be more prominent.
What we had:
- Miso Mushroom Noodles
- XO Prawn Noodles
- The Original
- Fried Pierogi
Both noodles were made to perfection, however wished that the Hanjuku egg yoke could be slightly more runny. The dumplings were really good! Will definitely be back to try the other dumpling flavours.
A must try for matcha lovers out there. This dessert comes with handmade matcha warabi mochi, a goma chocolate and a well balanced matcha ice cream. What makes it even nicer will be that the matcha are from Hvala’s exclusive partner in Kyoto.
Chicken nanban fans should give this sando a try. A generous piece of freshly fried chicken on top of a well-toasted bread. The nanban sauce is on the lighter side but it complements the chicken well.
