Grilled pork shoulder at 8Haus. The pork was nicely grilled without being overcooked and was full of flavour. They offer a lot of pork dishes with specialties such as their roast pork selling out. 8Haus is located among old buildings which are being gentrified with hipster joints. Rolled Pork With Mashed Potato Pork roll with mash and veg. Perfect portion of fat and lean with a crispy pork cracking. I do wish it can be slightly warm up before serve. Mashed potato on the side was perfectly done.

BEAM Nasi Lemak (RM16.50) I’ve heard great things about the nasi lemak here so I was very eager to try! Not overly spicy, the chicken curry is creamy and very fragrant (the menu claims it’s made with more than 20 types of spices), while the sambal was punchy and slightly tangy (still trying to figure his out). My favourite thing on the plate has to be the pickled tomatoes and the uber crunchy baby ikan bilis!

Nasi Lemak Beam Ever wonder why this particular dish is often sold out during the day? It’s because every little thing on the plate including the sambal & the curry were prepared from scratch with more than 20 kinds of spices and not to forget the basmati rice were cooked with fresh santan cream! Good for a quick meal.

Grilled cheese sandwich My neighborhood cafe operated by a couple with creative background, hence the expensive touch to the yet cosy space Everything made here is being prepared by the owner and they pay lots of attention to ingredients. The coffee, however, I’ve tried better. Still I would return for their food. Recently they have expanded to another floor upstairs to cater to private function.

Salmon Ochazuke It's my first time trying ochazuke in a Japanese place. Simple but lots of dimension in taste. Just imagine green tea as your soup with salmon, sesame and seaweed. RM16 for one. Not suitable for sharing with the portion.

Chocolate (RM13) Whisk Espresso recently opened a new outlet at Kiara 163. Expect mouth watering cakes and light bites. Cozy place to work but no wifi provided.

A Very Cozy High Tea Spot At Neighbourhood My current favourite spot for some high tea. Cozy, relaxing ambience even though full house. Pastries and cakes are freshly made daily. Tried their Matcha Eclairs (RM9), crispy pastry filled wit matcha cream wit azuki bean. Aww, love it so much! Will visit them again soon to try other pastry.

Rose Latte A nice glasshouse cafe situated @ MAHSA University serving good brunch. Nothing to shout about the drinks and cakes though!

Baked Farm Baked lamb meatballs, crispy beef bacon and sausage chunks in tomato puree topped with parmesan. This reminds me of egg shakshouka. The ingredients make the taste slightly more unique and the layer of egg is thicker than the egg shakshouka. This dish took almost 30mins to come. Would like it if the time taken to bake this is mentioned in the menu or informed verbally during order. It isn’t nice when you’re waiting for your food, wondering whether they’ve forgotten about it, while seeing your friends almost finishing their food. This is RM25.

Down Under This drink is the same as Australian coffee. Hazelnut latte with vanilla ice-cream. I ordered it without the ice-cream. It was just ok. Nothing special. Maybe the ice-cream would have made it better? This is RM12.
