The Basmati rice was fragrant, the fried chicken wing was crispy and the sambal chilli was sweet and spicy. Come early as the store sells out fast! I intended to order Set E that also came with otah and begedil but it was already sold out.
Nothing like a bowl of cold Ching Teng to combat Singapore’s sweltering heat! This all-time favourite dessert hit the spot - the herbal soup was flavourful and generous with lots of ingredients. But price-point wise, $2.20 may be pretty steep.
Came for this renowned Bak Chor Mee and queued 20 minutes for it. The noodles were springy and well worth both the price and the wait! We ordered the large portion and this came with three crispy fried Wanton skins. The sauce had no vinegar but a rich underlying taste of ketchup instead.
Good portion of noodles, vegetables, minced pork, fried ikan bilis, braised mushrooms and a poached egg. The noodles were springy and firm in texture, but the chilli was nothing to write home about.
McDonald’s newest addition to their menu was such a disappointment! Standard vanilla soft serve, Oreo bits, and Kit Kat balls. Not worth the price or the hype.
Kun Ji makes its glorious return after a 15 month hiatus!
As expected, after the renovation of Marine Parade Central Market & Food Centre, prices have gone up and the portions of braised duck meat and rice are less than before.
Update: We heard that the original seller did not return after renovation and that his younger Brother is the one currently running the stall. All in all, same great taste!
6 pieces of deep-fried chicken goodness! Like the promotional posters, each piece has red and green speckles - possibly curry leaves and chilli flakes. It also goes surprisingly well with curry sauce. At 0.81 cents per piece though, this comes with a price tag.
A&E stumbled upon this little shop and shared an egg prata just before dinner. It was crispy, buttery, and better than the prata E had this morning at AMK. It wasn’t “elastic” though, and different from the traditional prata. Prata was served with fish curry.
Decent neighbourhood carrot cake. The black carrot cake was tastier than the white carrot cake which was bland yet spicy.
Prata used to be good, but after it changed hands the quality has taken a dip. Prata was doughy.
A great choice for group gatherings. Restaurant ambience was laid back, food variety was ample and sashimi was fresh. The only gripe would be the poor level of service. Waitstaff were overworked and short-handed; they could barely cope with the influx of endless orders that they were hard-pressed to even attend to us.
