Creamy and slightly savoury cream cheese, thick enough to withstand dissolving into the fragrant oolong tea at the bottom, yet without being overly cloying. Genius, and extremely delish. Would come back again for this. Pro tip: do not stir this with a straw, and trust this joint’s pre-concocted sugar level of their foam teas, as I usually ask for less sugar in my bbts, but I didn’t this time and the sweetness level of the oolong complemented the cheese foam to the t(ea).

Now I understand the hype about this place — the ingredients used here are extremely fresh, and do not scrimp on quality at all. Hands down best foam bbtea drink I’ve had here in sg.

Newly opened in Icon Village, this hole-in-a-wall joint serves up an assortment of scrambled egg burgers. Every component of this burger was solid — eggs were creamy and done just right, brioche buns were toasted to golden brown perfection, avocado was ripe, cheese was grilled to a distinct smokiness, and it also helped that there was that tangy lemon sauce to cut through all that creaminess. Delish.

Smooth and creamy, the way this melts in your mouth is luxurious. Had solely the matcha flavour before, and felt that it was slightly too bitter on its own, but having it mixed with Kumamoto (Japanese purple sweet potato) is a winner as the natural sweetness of the sweet potato balances out and complements the strong matcha tea notes.

Another winner here. Love how the matcha milk tea was not too sweet and gelled well with the cheese foam atop. Could tell that the matcha powder used here is of good quality as well. Don’t expect potent matcha tea notes though, as this was slightly on the milkier side, which is not a bad thing, it just depends on your preference!

Pardon me for sounding like a lunatic, but my heart was beating in accordance to the way these fluffy, airy and texturally divine soufflé pancakes jiggled away. And it was pounding very, very hard indeed. Every bite felt like a stroll in the clouds, and despite my full capacity from dinner earlier on, I was actually attending to the idea of getting another plate all for myself after whittling this down (sadly, I underestimated myself and shared this).

I cannot stress how much this is a MUST-GET here, and it’s really a shame (!!!) if you make a trip all the way to habitat without returning with these babies nestled in your digestive tract.

Everyone at the table was slightly apprehensive regarding this savoury cake, including myself (although I was actually more excited than not). But my initial jitters dissipated once my tongue started associating itself with the flavours and textures of this dish; after all, they made sense — thick dill cream cheese which was neither sweet nor salty, fluffy and sliiiiightly sweet spinach chiffon, and savoury smoked salmon — these contrasts really balanced out nicely.

I’d recommend people to try this before dismissing it! All one has to do is get over the mental hurdle of expecting a dessert due to its visual presentation. Food comes in many shapes and forms, and as long as it tastes good, why not right? That being said, the cream cheese could be a little less cloying, but I’d gladly give this another go when I’m back!

Liked the mouthfeel of the fettuccine, and loved the generous amount of clams provided in this dish accompanied by the briny tang of the shellfish reduction. Only qualm is that the pasta was a little overcooked, but still a good dish overall.

Generous amount of fresh octopus and shrimp grilled to a nice smoky char.

Soft, pillowy, spongey, airy — this is the only form of donut I will ever appreciate (besides Haritts’ rendition as well) vis-a-vis the commonly found fried, doughy and sugary version. So light and fluffy without compromising on flavour, yum!

With its exponentially growing fame, I can see why this joint is popular with young people. At just $17, you’re looking at a substantial portion of smoky aburi salmon cubes and hotate slices topped with truffle atop a bed of seasoned Japanese pearl rice.

Albeit not the freshest sashimi I’ve ever had, but one thing’s for sure is this place is big on VALUE, which really appeals to the endless stream of students and youngsters in Holland V. In addition, we used #BurppleBeyond to get 1-for-1 main dishes here as well, which means $17 for TWO of such dons! Crazy worth it or what?

Not my first time trying the swiss rolls here, but definitely as good as I remember them to be. The airy and fluffy creams were delicately blanketed in the embraces of their light and spongey cakes, and complemented each other really well. Tea notes were distinct, which is a commendable feat, given how texturally and palatably light these swiss rolls are. Great chill spot for an afternoon respite.
