Been wanting to try @kamoshita5neilroad located on 5 Neil Road for a while now as they have the famous #十四代 by the glass on every 14th of the month but somehow am just never able to make it. So after a rather lackluster summer matsuri event at RWS, we headed here for real kickass sake and bites and we were not disappointed at all. First they let you sample the sake before you take the plunge to have the 180ml size or whole 720ml bottle. And true to our taste buds, we’d blindly choose and unwaveringly lean towards SMV + ones without batting our eyes. Yes, we have strong taste buds.... what can I say? And the bites are awesome! This place seems to focus on oden and have omakase options built around it. Since we have already eaten, we just went for the daikon and it was deliciously gooooood. And their homemade cheese perked our interest and they were all VERY good. I liked the soy sauced boiled konbu cream cheese best although the cream cheese soaked in miso and smoked pickle stuffed with cream cheese are quite outstanding too. I made the mistake of having the crab butter one last and it lost only because I had the heavier cheeses first. A great end to work week and awesome start to the weekend.
