Bismarck ($24.8) 12” thin crust pizza, topped with honey baked ham, feta cheese, wild rocket salad, tomato concasse, and a sunny side up smack in the middle of it all. I thought the pizza was delicious - with a combination of ingredients like that it’s hard to go wrong. It was just nice in terms of portion size, my friend and I shared it as we weren’t feeling too hungry during lunch. She liked this pizza too! Do note that they do not serve tap water here - you’d have to buy bottled mineral water for $2 if you wanted some. Cafe was spacious yet cozy, made for a nice afternoon lunch venue.

Chai Tea Latte ($7.50) This Chai Tea Latte was very smooth and comforting - spices were not too intense and the drink was overall more towards the sweeter side. Seafood Risotto Yummy creamy! Must eat while it's hot. Flavorful and quite a bit of seafood in it! Liked it!

Braised tau kwa It’s ok… nothing extra ordinary and a little too salty for me.

Dry Bak Kut teh A lot of crowd here but we think it’s just ok. That as tasty as it looks but price is not bad.

Fantastic Herbal Style BKT Had both the Dry and Soul BKT and both really impressed - BKT herbal soup was delightful and comforting, with a right balance of flavours. The dry sauce was intensely savoury with robust sweetness and a tinge of spiciness.

Addon Pigtail 2nett The bkt is ofc as good as ever Can't rmb if I've reviewed their pigtail before, but it's reasonably tender. They cook it to the same texture as the pig trotters, not the melt in your mouth kind but more than tender enough. On the plain side tho, as the pork ribs tend to be as well

Peanuts 2nett It's almost funny how close the flavour is to the canned versions. However given it's freshly cooked the texture is better

veggie Having it again, I'd say the texture is still good for what it is, but I don't think the flavour is so impressive. Is their slightly herbal sauce, only drizzled over so it's abit mild

Amazing 3 Course Dinner Set The 3 course dinner set was amazing and super value for money with burpple 1-for-1 ($60). Started with the Spanish octopus which was perfectly cooked. We got the lamb shank and pork for mains. There was also a complimentary birthday dessert on top of the 2 desserts we alr have. Overall it was a pleasant experience as we had a very hearty meal.

Kopi 'O' Dessert I went to Porta a month ago, but his dessert sometimes still will pop in my mind...very addictive dessert😆

3 Course Meal @ $62 (Burpple 1 For 1) We had fried oysters and Spanish octopus for our appetizers, followed by porta burger and fillet mignon for our mains. We ended off the night with our desserts - Pecan cake with ice cream and Black Forest. They gave us an complimentary birthday cake as it was my friend birthday! The service was really great and the ambience is chill. This place is located in Park Hotel, it is overall great for a nights out! With the deal, it was double the worth! Price: $62 for 2 pax Rating: 7/10

Chicken salad + grilled cheese food is mediocre 🥺 nothing special

Way too expensive for basics Service and table wait was amazing. Food wise mediocre. Literally scrambled eggs with toast for $16, top up pork sausage for 6, adding up to $22. Look at it. Normal pre packed, processed sausages I would say. Normal bread, not even sourdough. What can I say, basic and soulless food. A bit sad and disappointed and way too pricey. Mocha came in a tiny glass cup. Wasn’t tasty too. Ambience??, no ambience.

Reuben 17++ It's decent, everything was not too strong. There could have been more meat tho. The bread had a noteworthy hard crisp which reminded me of crispy waffles for some reason Overall expensive place and not worth it at all, food is decent but quite overhyped

Egg Benedict with rosti Rather a unique dish, I like the Hollandise sauce with the rosti

Scrambled Egg with Croissant The egg is nicely cooked and the croissant is crisp

The Populus Scramble The Populus Scramble consisted of basic ingredients like turkey bacon, croissant, scrambled eggs with herbs (essentially spring onions and big red chilli). Not a very good photographer (esp for food), but plating was well done, enough for me to take like a pro for once. The textbook scrambled eggs was a win for me, the herbs gave it a slight Asian twist. But apart from that, nothing to shout about, no complexity nor depth in flavours. Croissant was very mediocre, and after 3 mouths it was all really one-dimensional. I couldn’t finish it. It just did not make the cut for such price point ($22 bef GST & svc charge). Hesitant to come back, but if I do then I’d probably try something else. Also, there was not much viable options for my poor vegetarian friend. Her favourite mushrooms were already pre-mixed with garlic so no customisations. Ratings: Taste - 7/10 Price - 5.5/10 Ambience - 7/10

Wanton Mee with Shredded Abalone ($12) I went on a saturday lunchtime and queue moves relatively quick. The noodles were slightly tough for me. The items in the bowl were all cold. The char siew was nice and had a good mix of lean and fat meat. Topup $5 and you get a generous portion of abalone. The black sauce doesnt make the noodles too salty or oily. They serve a small bowl of hot soup with 2 wantons. The wanton had meat, shrimp, black fungus and corriander. The soup tasted peppery.

Wanton Mee I guess it's extremely difficult to be mindblown by a same thing. This felt really premium the first time, and although still good, this time I ate it up casually.

Wanton Noodles At Jackson’s Place. Supposedly listed in 2019’s Michelin Guide. There was no queue. $6 for the regular portion. The noodle is cooked al dente, nice and crunchy. The wonton is shaped like a ball, sufficient ingredient, tasted ok. The char siew looks good with a good mix of lean & fats, however the meat is just too dry and hard to eat. There’s generous amount of lard, nice and fragrant. Still worth a try.

Ngl I kinda prefer it that way, stops dine and dash incidents too. The best part was that the price reflected on the menu was the nett price, so I didn’t have to do the math 😀 The patty within the burger was tender and beefy, while the egg and bacon added that extra oomph to the dish. Well breaded and fried without being too oily Good value, this restaurant is a sister brand of astons. Plenty of seats on a sunday afternoon, with nice natural light. Meat patty (not pictured) was huge without batter being too thick

Of course, they have another three reds from other countries, two whites and a rosé if you’re so inclined.⠀ ⠀ Sitting pretty in this glass is a pour of Clarendelle’s 2017 vintage Bordeaux. It’s a classic Bordeaux red blend, and its DNA is 67% merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, and just one percent Cabernet Franc. It’s one hundred percent fabulous too, as its velvety smooth and heavy body emit aromas of vanilla, oak and leather. The flavours, however, are distinctly blackberry, plum & raisin, with fleeting hints of cinnamon in there.⠀ ⠀ As expected of a good Bordeaux blend, Clarendelle’s Bordeaux is charmingly complex with great fruit forward flavours and soft, rounded tannins. Tis a wonderful wine, and is best enjoyed slowly sipped between big bites of juicy entrecôte.
